I've taught music theory to bass players, guitar players, keyboard players, even a drummer! I wrote Austin Guitar School's music theory course, and I enjoy helping people understand what they're doing, and how to do it better. Knowledge is power!

Trevor is the real deal! He takes the time to get to know you and listen to what your needs may be or what you desire to accomplish in the lessons.
Then he breaks it down and takes the speed you are comfortable in learning and does not overwhelm you. I feel very comfortable with him and I am tons more advanced then I could even imagine. I’ve only done 3 sessions so far and can’t wait to see my progress with 5 more lessons to go. Great guy on top of it:). I highly recommend Trevor to anyone.

I've been working with Trevor for just over a year. His teaching goes beyond just dry technique and theory to answer the question "why am I doing this?" When you work with Trevor, there is purpose behind everything you do. He starts with your big picture goals and breaks them down into actionable steps that you can take feeling like it's going somewhere. This makes for way more efficient and exciting practice sessions. If you don't know exactly where you want to go with your playing, Trevor will help you find that as well.

Mr. Blackwell is very kind and is an amazing teacher. He takes time to help me understand music especially the theory sections. He is not just a music teacher but he is an excellent mentor.

Luther has been very helpful at teaching me the basics while also making sure we move at a pace in which I am comfortable before jumping into any new exercises. I look forward to having him as a teacher for a long time.
Brian Gee
When I was 53, I decided that I would like to learn how to play the bass guitar. I contacted Mr. Blackwell to see if he would be interested in teaching an older person how to play music. Mr. Blackwell told me that he could teach me how to play and my age is not an issue. I still remember my first lesson. I showed up with a music book and Mr. Blackwell said we are not going to use a book at this time because he wanted to teach me what I needed to know for my skill level, which by the way was novice! Three years later, not only can I play the bass, read music and improvise as needed, I play in a band and we are on the radio! If you are thinking of learning music or want to advance your music skills, Mr. Blackwell is the teacher that you are looking for! Bravo Mr. Blackwell!
