For beginning students, we will start by learning the fundamentals of violin including: violin set up, left hand and right hand techniques, best posture, and becoming comfortable with playing the strings. Then we will advance to a beginning book, to learn the notes of the violin, playing fun songs, and gradually advancing to music reading.
For intermediate to advanced students, I will adjust the lessons according to the student's needs. We will discuss what you've already learned, what you would like to learn, and choose music of your liking. We will focus on best left hand practices, bowing techniques, intonation, vibrato, and music reading.

Lessons are tailored to fit each individual student's ability and goals. I believe in challenging students while maintaining a supportive and encouraging environment. Lessons will cover music theory, technique, and solo pieces. The goal is to develop in each student the specific skills needed to play a string instrument as well as to nurture an understanding and love for music.
Lessons take place at my apartment in Southeast Denver, near Hampden and I-25. Students are expected to prepare for and participate annual studio recitals.

About Kostadin

I was raised in a musical family in my home country of Bulgaria, where I attended a highly competitive full-time performing arts school from age 6. I was trained in the Russian school of violin playing and have found this to be a very successful method for my younger students in the United States.

I'm sorry, I cannot handle this Instructor for my children. She wasn't me but she's not quite the people person I expected. Her personality is not a good match for a high school tutor. Unfortunately her English is not good enough. Her accent is entirely too strong. Also she does not know enough Geometry to help my kids.

Ray is an amazing teacher. My 11-year-old has high-functioning autism and has a great interest in learning music. I was hesitant to hire just any teacher, as many teachers don't have the patience and understanding to work with special needs kids. However, Ray has been not only patient, but he has an exceptional way of teaching my son in a way that he would understand and retain the information. Ray is creative, intuitive, and experienced. My son is very happy and enjoys the lesson every single time. Thanks Ray.

"We were so pleased with Katherine and feel fortunate that we found a teacher for our daughter who not only plays professionally, but who studied with two of the great touring and recording pros out there. Katherine's skills as a violinist are top-notch, and her ability to connect with my daughter, teach her advanced skills, plus motivate her to want to advance in her school orchestra was so important. Katherine is a great violinist and that inspired my daughter to want to play better Its rare to find a teacher who is at the top of her profession who loves the violin and music so much that she makes her students feel special and important. Katherine is a joy to be around and its made such a difference to us."
