About Charis

Great teacher! She was able to teach my daughter in 3 lessons what her band teacher couldn’t do in 6 months. My daughter walked away after her first lesson excited and couldn’t wait for her next lesson. You can tell Charis loves what she does.

Music theory is the basic foundation for every good composer and songwriter. There's a lot to learn and a lot that can be used in your own music. Even if you only want to play guitar and not write music, music theory can help you be a better improvisor, increase your harmonic knowledge, and play better in group settings.

About Jeremie

I'm a self taught guitarist who has been playing for 20 years. I have played professionally in numerous bands and ensembles ranging from jazz to folk to rock, and I've been writing music for the same length of time. I currently perform with one of my students from TakeLessons named Mackenzie O'Brie

My daughters had their first piano lesson today with Terri. I can honestly say that I’ve never met anyone so patient and sweet natured and professional like Terri. The first time I spoke to her on the phone reflected her nature in person. Shes very knowledgeable with the piano music. She knows how to level herself with my 7 year old and specially with my know it all 5 year old. After the lessons she updated me with their progress and commented on my kids strengths and weaknesses. She just didn’t talk to me as her client but she talked to me like a friend. Her smile radiated through the music she teaches. We all loved her.

I recently began singing again after a year and was very unconfident in my voice and my ability to improve. Albino was the perfect instructor for someone like me because of his patience and positivity. He was able to point out issues with my singing technique or provide feedback in a very positive way, without seeming critical. Whenever I was confused about something, he would work with me non-stop until I understood. Albino inspires confidence in all his students, and I highly recommend him as a teacher!

"As Jim states on his bio, he teaches from age 8 and up. I'm one of his "up" students who's been playing guitar for a few years, but never took time to learn theory because I thought it was too confusing or difficult to learn. After being stuck in a rut for the past 30 years, I finally realized that I could be a guitar player, instead of just playing guitar, by understanding WHY I'm playing what I playing. I planned to take a few lessons to see how it would go. That was 4 months ago. Now when I pick up my guitar, I have a plan and am excited to learn more each week. Jim's approach to teaching theory makes it clear for anyone of any age or expertise. If you're young and want to learn the right way, Jim will teach you the right way. For us older folks, I found out you CAN teach an old dog new tricks... I highly recommend Jimmy!"

He made it easy for me to understand concepts that were always lost on me in the past. It was the best money I have ever spent to get my skills and knowledge where I need them to be. "Keith is a an awesome teacher! I learned so much from him in the span of a few weeks. Every lesson is packed full of information and he makes sure you totally get and understand the lesson before moving onto the next chapter. I really appreciate that he corrects me whenever I make mistakes especially when it comes to staying on beat while playing the piano with the metronome. Lessons are also never boring with him. I feel that he truly cares for the musical growth of his students. Although, I'm taking a break from Take Lessons when I enroll again I will choose Keith for Piano/Music Theory."
