About Emily

I am a strings teacher, teaching privately for 10 years and in public schools for 7. I graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelors of Music in Music Education, with a concentration in violin.

Strings students can expect to improve week to week in their technique. I teach students strong foundational techniques in order to develop their abilities. I use a mixture of both technical exercises and repertoire to help any student to play with freedom, confidence, and expression.

I teach violin, viola, and cello students of all different ages and experience levels. I studied violin for 18 years, and have played viola and cello in numerous performances. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student. I look f

Learn the violin using the Suzuki method. I specialize in teaching violin to young students with no experience to beginning and intermediate levels. I strive for greater playing ability in a nurturing environment while always making a beautiful sound.

About Jared

Contact 425 three eight seven 5401 or jared.macfarlane at gmail . com

My early childhood music education focuses the student through immersion, encouragement, small steps, and an unforced timetable for learning material based on each student's development and ability to imitate examples and internalize principles. Regular consistent practice is required and parent involvement is encouraged for younger students. Reviewing material, position, intonation, and bow techniques to always make a beautiful sound is of primary importance.

Private Violin Teacher

I began playing violin as a young child, and progressed to several hours a day during my teenage years. I taught throughout college, both as a violin instructor and as a private instructor.

My teaching programs vary according to the level of the student, and the goal he or she has set for him/herself, be it as a support to a school educational program or a personal love for music and/or the violin that seeks to develop itself into a practice.

About Gabrielle

Bonjour a tous!

Dear Students,

A native French speaker, I have been tutoring students of all levels since 2008. I was the main French and German Instructor at the San Jose Learning Center in the Silicon Valley before moving to New York.

The core of my lessons are drawn from language books, which allows everyone to work at his or her own pace during the week. This is supplemented by tailored PDFs that target your particular interests.

Lessons always begin with a dialogue, no matter your level. From how you are feeling, to what you did during the week, to the weather of your best friend's gossip, we warm up with a conversation I type out as we go.

The rest of the lesson is then spent reviewing previous work and introducing new material in a variety of ways, constantly setting a rule in practice. Poems, songs or texts, depen

ding on your interest, keep the content alive and interesting.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

I hope to hear from you, meet you, and work with you!

Sincerely,
Gabrielle
