I have been helping and preparing musicians for performance for close to ten years. I have worked with pop singers, dancers, rock musicians, and musical theater actors.

I like to film or voice record performers so that the student walks away with something to work with. I help with stage presence, announcing, diction, dynamics, blocking, and overall polishing.

About Holly

I am an enthusiastic musician with a talent for teaching. I have worked as a voice and piano teacher in Seattle for over 16 years. Previously employed at The West Side Music Academy in 2003-2006, I realized my passion for individual instruction early in my career. I studied Music Education under D

You CAN Sing those Great Songs with Full Voiced Power, Ease and Beauty and learn to "Perform" them with ease and professional mastery!

"Classical" Singing is simply using the real
voice that you came here with in the natural way that it was meant to function before we got in our own way and could no longer remember how to sing and speak freely. As I stated in my upcoming book, "All God's Chillun' Got A Voice", "No, you have not lost your voice, its just the PRODUCTION that got a little messed up!" That is fixable! All we have to do is to understand how the system works, and then adjust our actions accordingly. It works every time. Perfectly executed vocal techniques that have been proven time after time, and that have stood the tests of time WILL bring you the same successes and joys that they have been bringing other singers for eons. Successful Singers don't have to "be born with" some super duper vocal apparatus that is somehow magically better than everybody else's; they ...

I'm into my second month of weekly guitar lessons with Brett and can't believe how well I am playing already!! I've had some basic guitar lessons in the past but still very much a beginner. Brett knew precisely where to start and what I needed next to advance my playing, and broke it down into attainable steps. So far I've learned a good handful of strum patterns; I can finally play two songs pretty well and sing along; and I am in the rudimentary stage of learning to finger pick. Really love the fact that beautiful sounds are coming from my instrument! Highly recommend if you're ready to make the commitment to becoming a capable player.

What a terrible experience. I signed up for lessons for my wife from Brett as a gift because he listed times that would work for my wife given that we have a young daughter, and have a hard time making time for lessons. Brett told us 3 days before the lesson that the time wouldn't work, then simply never showed for the rescheduled first lesson. Worse, he simply refused to do scheduling via email (he would leave voicemails and failed to return my wife's call when she called back as they were playing phone tag), and then told us he had another commitment during the slot we had supposedly reserved for him. Worse, he failed to update the site as he continually cancelled lessons and never showed up for scheduled times. I now have a huge hassle of getting a refund on the money I paid for lessons as opposed to a lovely gift for my wife. Life's too short and we're too busy for such an awful experience.

Great teacher for my young daughter

Brett has been a great teacher for my 5 year old daughter. She is just learning the basics of piano and Brett has been great at expanding her skill sets. She really enjoys practicing with him and actually looks forward to when he comes over every week!

The power of music comes from our capacity to share it. We call it performance, whether alone with a loved one on a beach or surrounded by screaming fans.

To effectively share music involves sharing ourselves with it. When we offer ourselves as conduits for music's beauty, our body becomes a prism uniquely refracting its experience to others. No two performances are identical, and no two performers are alike.

My job is to help you craft techniques for different situations, different performance applications, and particular moments within them. If you're playing at a coffee shop tonight and an online benefit concert the next, I'll help you translate yourself as an artist through whatever medium you choose.

My experience ranges from musical theatre to jazz to rock n' roll to acoustic folk and beyond, from intimate venues to enormous halls, and from vocal performance to piano to guitar to drums and more.

Let's play together.

CUSTOM-MADE FOR YOU Learning involves playfulness, curiosity, and personal connection. "This teacher works to bring out the possible best in a person. She provides constructive criticism when needed but also makes you feel you are learning and progressing under her instructions. She took a shy, quiet person and turned him into someone who is learning that it can be fun to perform for live audiences and how good it feels to express a talent you always wanted to share with others but were not sure you had it in you to do so. I greatly love and respect this teacher."

"My son takes beginning band with Nick. This group of very young players is learning how to hear a piece of music, break it down, play it together, and make it their own. Along the way, Mr. Nick teaches them theory, technique, and joy in playing music. Nick has the patience of a saint. His expertise is in guitar and banjo, but he knows his way around the whole band, and can teach rhythm and technique on a wide range of instruments. I highly recommend. Note, we’ve done lessons both on line and in person. Both were good."

"Eric B. was the music instructor for both my children at the middle and high school they attended. Additionally, I taught with Eric for seven years.

My children received excellent music instruction in both trombone and flute. I was pleased with the rigor of the practice that was expected from Eric, which enabled dramatic growth in their musical ability. I was also pleased that they were both able to read music due to the instruction they were given under Eric's tutelage.

As I said earlier, I have worked with Eric as a colleague. I found him to be highly organized, student centered with regard to growth and performance, and a man of high character.

Eric created a Jazz band curriculum at the school corporation we taught at, where he developed several Jazz sections that would perform regularly in the community. Eric would invite notable guest musicians to work with the students and participate with them in these performances.

I would recommend Eric, without reservations, to anyone who desires a quality music instructor."
