I'm a versatile guitarist with 8 years of teaching experience ranging from the elderly to the very young and everything in between.

My philosophy is to inspire the student. Growing up, I quit various instruments because my teachers failed to give me the tools that I needed to go home and have fun practicing. Giving the student these tools, no matter their age or experience level is my number one goal.

About Benjamin

Hi! My name is Ben, and I can't wait to start playing guitar with you. I have been playing since age 14, and teaching since age 18. Most of professional experience is as a jazz guitarist, but I have spent a good part of my career playing rock, funk, blues, and folk. Whatever your style and exper

Our son first time playing bassoon. Base on my son experience, he find Joshua to be very nice, patients, and explains a lot of information. It help him understand about the instrument and the sound when he play. He do have a sense of humor which help my son to have fun and be more comfortable. He also teaches other instruments, too. Highly recommended to everyone!!!!

teach music the way music should be taught: fun, interesting, patient, and without intimidation. I teach the music YOU want to learn and will learn new music specifically for you if that is what you wish to study. In your very first lesson, you will start learning to play a song. Instead of only focusing on drilling scales and techniques, I will teach you how apply these in a musical context. I teach musicians of all ages, using the same proven approach. My students range in age from young children to middle school, high school, and college students, as well as working professionals and retirees. I bring my own enthusiasm for learning, my love of music, and a desire to pass on my knowledge into every lesson!

I received a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) from Stanford University, as well as a Bachelor’s of Music (B.M.) from the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music in New York. I have a lot of teaching experience. I have been a private teacher in various areas of music including ...

I've been playing guitar for the last 15 years and giving lessons for almost as long! I have a degree in music from the University of Miami and am currently touring out of Nashville. I'd like to think I have a fairly wide range of musical tastes (jazz, country, blues, acoustic, gypsy jazz, rockabilly, rock, etc.) and I enjoy the different challenges that each of my students bring to the table. So whether you're just wanting to strum a few old favorites at home, or if you're on your way to being a Nashville pro like me, I'd be happy to help you along your musical journey!

About Matthew

I picked up the guitar (at my father's encouragement) back in 2003 and never quite turned back! Originally from Kansas City, MO, I first got regular exposure playing in my high school's jazz band and in various other jazz groups, and was lucky enough to study extensively with local guitarists Rod F

"Jason is an accomplished guitarist, and an excellent teacher. He's a down to earth, regular guy who has a gift to share....which he does very well! He takes
time to communicate with me at a level which meets my needs, and is very patient with me. I believe that Jason wants me to improve in my guitar playing skills and knowledge of music theory just as much as I do, and is uniquely gifted to help me. I'm looking forward to on-going lessons with Jason. He's a really good guy, who deserves my highest recommendation."

"I started lessons after teaching myself for about 20 years, and wanting to move beyond being a campfire guitar player. I have found it to be a very helpful and enjoyable process; and have made much more progress than I would have versus reading books and watching YouTube videos. The relationship, real-life feedback, and ability to ask questions are all extremely helpful. Jared is a knowledgeable, kind, and patient teacher. When my daughter expressed interest in guitar I started her with lessons too, and I couldn’t be happier with how he works with her and plays music games to keep her interested. Overall I’m very happy with Jared."

"He took extra time when we first started to find out where my daughter was at in her skill and ability, made a book and plan for her, and the took extra time each week to answer every question and really try to teach her effectively. She enjoyed it and wanted to go because she was learning and improving. She even started to appreciate the homework he gave. Will definitely consider him again if the logistics work out."

How to Set the Right Goals for Learning Guitar

Learning the guitar is a great goal in itself - but you'll need to get more specific if you want to truly make some progress! Read on as Hillsboro, OR guitar teacher Geoff A. walks you through the goal-setting process...   For Beginners The first goal is getting the fingers of the fretting hand to cooperate in forming chords. I begin with E, A, G, C, B7, and D chords. Practice ten to fifteen minutes twice a day and understand: your fingers will hurt a few weeks until calluses form, depen …
