For me, performing live any type of music I set my mind to was the ultimate goal in taking up an instrument. If my student has the same goal in mind, I have years of experience from playing concert halls to dive bars and basements in all manner of musical contexts. I can prepare the body and the mind for anything and everything performing requires.
About Tommy
My name is Tommy. I've been playing bass and guitar since I was 11 years old. When I was in high school, I won my school's Duke Ellington Jazz Performance Award my junior year. Around this time I began to work at my neighborhood's local lesson shop Let's Play Music! off of W Broad Street in Falls C

I have spent 37 years teaching Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade music, using an active program of singing, moving, playing, improvising and performing. I follow the principles of the Orff-Schulwerk process of teaching children, but also draw upon my technical and artistic background as a performer: Voice, Cello, Recorder (all voices), Native American-style Flute, Piano, Guitar and the Bass Viola da gamba (I teach all of these privately, as well, up through adult learners). Skills and repertoire are taught with an Historic and Cultural sensibility, especially drawing tunes and activities from the cultural and personal interest of my students. If your children are home-schooled, I would love to work with them and keep the music curriculum going!
About Anne
I love working with young students, to get them started on the path to becoming Musical People. Whether I'm teaching them to play one specific instrument, helping them develop their singing voices, or leading them through a performance-based curriculum based upon The National Standards of Music Ed

FOCUSING ON ADVANCED OUT GIGGING GUITAR PERFORMANCE: Even in my beginner lessons, I teach you a REAL SONG by an artist you like on the very first lesson! Text or call for details. My intermediate and advanced lessons help you learn more complicated lead rhythm techniques in pop rock and country REAL songs. Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

I got to the lesson and I was shaking. I've always been an Actor and I've always had this mental block about my voice. But After talking to her, Within the first 5 minutes she had already had me laughing and relaxing in my chair. She not only showed me how to use my vocals, she explained (In Detail) why and what was making my voice tighten up in the first place. She understood everything that my vocal cords were doing.
I would certainly say that Coren goes the extra mile when it comes to training the voice. And she has one of the biggest hearts on this planet! There were many lessons I had with her where I would Just be in tears because I had a mental block about my voice. But Coren would not let me stay there. She Believed in me and she got me out of my mental patterns.
I owe a lot to this women and I couldn't be more Grateful that I have the opportunity to study under her!"

She enjoys children and brings wonderful excitement to their music experience. She creates relevant lesson plans and incorporates movement and other modalities into her music lessons. If you walk into a music lesson, students are moving and making music! They are engaged!
I highly recommend Ms. Christine."
