Enjoyed working with Neil. Very professional and I felt very comfortable with his teaching methods. Unfortunately I will not be able to continue my lessons with him in home since I am considered high risk for the virus. I will be canceling the remainder of my in-home lessons and picking them up at a later date

When it comes to violin I use both book and audio. I want to help my students learn to not only read the music but to also hear and feel it. I have been teaching this way for the last few years and found that my students have a deeper understanding of the music by learning the see with their ears. Each student is tasked with coming up with goals that they want to reach, goals their parents would like for them to reach and from there a personalized path for learning is created and followed.

About April

I picked up music when I was very young and have never looked back. I started with the piano and then moved on to the violin, of which I competed regularly in up until high school. In high school I switched the viola and found it to me even more amazing. During high school I competed again in music

I'd love to help you hone your technique and practice habits so you are working efficiently to become the best musician you can be. Whatever your goals may be - getting a better chair in your school orchestra, getting into your local youth orchestra, getting a great mark on your solo and ensemble contests, or just being able to enjoy playing more - I can help you with that! I'm kind, but firm, and if you enjoy paying attention to detail, and learning things correctly right from the start, I think we'd be a great match!

I worked with Laura through my high school years. She has been very helpful, and has worked with me so that I can have the best musical experience possible. She has always been very approachable and easy to talk to! The lessons were always very fun; she always made sure to give me a safe space to make music and not feel judged. Whenever looking into colleges and audition times came up, she knew how to approach the situation and how to prepare me for them! I am so grateful to have gotten to work with her!

Laura is a very encouraging, supportive teacher that pushes her students and works hard to help them be successful. I have been a student of hers for about 5 years now and I've experienced how amazing she is firsthand. She always motivates me to be the best I can be and improve beyond that. She makes herself available between lessons for questions and advice, which has always been super helpful. Overall, studying under her has been an enlightening, wonderful experience.

Laura is a dedicated violinist and teacher. As her colleague in the San Antonio Symphony, I am always impressed with her warmth, kindness and communication skills. She is a wonderful violinist, great team player and her personality will always brighten up your day!

I have been teaching classical violin for over 6 years, and have found the Suzuki method to be quite reliable. This method uses listening/ear training, repetition, and encouragement to help students develop technique while cultivating an extensive repertoire of music. I supplement my Suzuki lessons with basic theory, note reading, and an emphasis on practice techniques and artistry, and encourage experienced students to explore classical and traditional repertoire outside of the Suzuki method.

About Miriam-Rose

Hello! My name is Miriam-Rose, and I have been teaching violin/fiddle to students of all levels and ages for over ten years. I was trained classically in the Suzuki method from a very young age, and also have a significant background in traditional music, specifically Scottish fiddle. During my

She's very knowledgeable. She used the time to really analyze and work with my daughters ability. Afterwards she gave great advice, the pros and cons on what she needs to work on.

Very good at explaining concepts in a second, or sometimes third, way so that her student can make an inner connection. I also admire the way she organizes her lessons so we refresh and enhance the previous session and then move on to new technique. Appreciate the professional way she communicates as necessary outside class, too.

I so appreciated my first Lesson with Nick! We had planned to meet in person, but because of the current quarantine had to have class online - and it was wonderful! He was encouraging and clear and was able to diagnose some of my bad habits and give me ways to get past them. He also generously shared resources and repertoire. I'm much looking forward to continuing with him - just what I needed both musically and to keep my spirits up!

"Nicole is extremely upbeat, joyous and fabulously encouraging

I love Nicole's joyful presence and very encouraging manner. She's talented and works with me to ensure that I get over my insecurities as a new player and enjoy the experience. Also love that she's very attuned to the physical toll that playing and performing takes and takes the time to explain the need for and the how to of exercises that will help me avoid injury or pain and to make my playing more toneful. I am very happy that I got to be one of her students. Oh, and she's been very good at accommodating my schedule and working with me when medical or travel needs interfere with my regular lessons."

"Highly excellent teacher and personally the best private teacher I've had.

Julie is an amazing teacher who I had for about 5 years. I would never have to worry about her cancelling and she was always open to changes in availability on your side due to things coming up. She is an excellent teacher who has helped me greatly on the violin, helped me get started on the piano and has even helped me with auditions for my trumpet when asked about. She is a wonderful person who is extremely friendly to both students and parents and I can guarantee that you will learn and become a better musician by studying with her."
