Will is from a long line of World Renowned Drummers. His uncle Ed played in the Tonite show band with Johnny Carson, his cousin plays drums for Billy Joel ( Liberty DeVito). Will himself took to the drums at the age of 7. By 13 years old he was already gigging in special events, Jazz Bands and local community concerts. Since he has performed with Mr Louie Bellson ( Legendary Jazz drummer) , Lou Soloff ( Trumpeter for Blood , Sweat and Tears), JIm Chapin ( Legendary Jazz Drummer, father of Harry Chapin and author of some of the best Drumming Technique books still employed today. Mr S. is a consummate performer and educator with over 30 years of World Tour performances in some of the Globe's most notable venues and stages. He attended SUNY Plattsbugh with degree in Jazz Studies. Real world experience and a passion for music, drums and wor
ld percussion make Will a highly sort after entertainer and educator. He has been an artist in residence at many schools and Universities over the course of his 25 years of instructing. He is actively performing and teaching both locally in Metro Atlanta and online.

*** Lesson Details ***
For most of us drummers and rhythmatists we cannot go an hour without banging something or tapping or humming or moving.. if this describes you or your child then Im the guy who would be delighted to foster your development in your lifelong pursuit of the ultimate beat. I cannot give you God given talent , but I can take what talent god has given you and accentuate the positive. Work with you on fundamentals, technique, timbre, timing, tuning, sight reading..the list goes on..Its a lifelong pursuit..How long you choose to pursue it is up to you.. Im here to be your mentor.

Im pretty laid back with teaching discipline. Either you got it or you dont. I cannot push you or force you into practicing.. You must inherently love music and love rhythm and love drumming or percussion. If I am working with you on Kit drumming you will be starting out with the basics unless you have experience. I normally do an assessment to determine where you are at.. If I am teaching you hand percussion or African or Asian based drums then its strictly an aural based learning experience. No books just memorization. Kit drumming will require either you have your own Drum kit if I am coming to your house or of you travel to my studio I will have 1 drum kit to share , but you must have your own sticks. I do employ books in Drum Kit lessons. I will give you the names of the books based on what I think your level is and we can go from there..

Music is a complex yet beautiful language. Once you are immersed in the culture of the beat your journey thus begins. And journeys like these last a lifetime. I hope I can be a part of your experience.

He is a very patient teacher. And he's very flexible on his schedule by moving our schedule to an earlier time because we had a prior engagement in the afternoon. And most of all, my daughter now knows the basics and we will most likely contact him again in case we decide to continue guitar lessons.

Rina is a fabulous instructor. My son originally contacted Rina after researching piano teachers in our area. She came highly recommended and as a result he gave me a gift of five piano lessons to start. I became hooked; I've been with Rina for well over a year now and thoroughly enjoy learning. Her background in music is broad and she is creative in her approach to teaching.

Music and studying music has always been a passionate experience for me. I have been so blessed with the teachers and fellow musicians in my life. I have performed in great jazz clubs in New York, on Broadway, and performing arts centers across the country. I'm currently playing in many great performing ensembles. I have put out two CD's as a leader and played on multiple CD's for other artists.

My most important goal for each student is that they get to where they want to be musically.

I want the student to be able to play the way he or she wants to play. If you want to learn to play one song, that is great! If you want to learn to play one classical etude that is just as great! If you want to learn how to play in a salsa band, bravo! I treat the desires of my students as my curriculum. Each student will receive special prep time from me each week. I pride myself in taking the time and energy to prepare for each meeting. Every time you complete a lesson, it is my hope that you are walking away as a better musician.

In the beginning I hope to find what will musically interests you the most. Usually, you might have a goal that requires you to play on a higher level than you do presently. If that is true, we might take some time to figure out a road map to get you to that place. Along the way, I'm sure you and I will learn many new concepts and techniques that aid you in becoming the bassist/musician you want to be.

And rest assured, the teacher always learns from the student...this is the best part of teaching: learning from the student.

Love my lessons

John is an amazing teacher all around. Very professional and good at getting me to understand things which may be a bit confusing. I am currently reading and playing between four books and I never thought it would be possible especially just after taking lessons for a year. Sometimes I feel a bit frustraited when I am not able to play certain pieces or when I dont understand a concept but John is great at breaking everything down and making it easier. I am now realizing how my piano skills can be utilizied in my other music projects. When I attend my lessons I am reminded why I love having them so much. With him as my instructor I can see my skills improving and I know I will only get better. I recommend piano lessons to everyone and if you are looking to have a great teacher John is your go to person !

Richard was willing to introduce my 4 year old granddaughter to the instrument and he helped her with the most basic aspects of playing - how to hold it (he adjusted the strap to fit her properly) how to strum and how to use her left hand on the frets, etc. He was clear, concise, encouraging and patient!

Throughout my time at Berklee, NEC, and now Juilliard, I have studied with many great teachers and musicians from Wynton Marsalis, Eddie Henderson, Kenny Barron, Tiger Okoshi, John McNeil, and Laurie Frink to Jerry Bergonzi, and Miguel Zenon. The diverse subjects we went over in lessons and classes gives me a unique knowledge of certain styles and musical ideas. I try to be as personal and individual as I can when it comes to teaching students. That was the thing that stood out amongst my favorite teachers.

About David
At 28 years old, David Neves is one of the most active and exciting trumpet players in New York and Boston’s jazz scene. Neves was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, he was chosen to be a member of the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute. Through this program, David had the privilege of studying and performing with some of the most accomplished and well-known jazz musicians in the world, including Wayne Shorter, Dave Liebman, Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, and George Garzone. Neves then attended the prestigious New England Conservatory where he received his Master’s of Music in Jazz Performance.

A world-class musician, David’s talents have sent him all over the globe to venues such as the Tokyo Jazz Festival, Torino Jazz Festival, Panama Jazz Festival, and the Newport Ja
zz Festival. In 2010, Neves traveled to Sydney, Australia, where he won first prize in the International Trumpet Guild’s Jazz Solo Competition. Recently, Neves was faculty at the 2016 Torino Jazz Festival where he conducted masterclasses, as well as the advanced ensemble that was featured at the festival, performing “April 14th, 2013” from his debut album, “Progress Report.”

In February 2014, David independently released Progress Report, his first full-length album as a leader and composer. This project debuts intriguing, all-original music, and David is joined by some of the finest young musicians in Boston and New York.

A recent recipient of the prestigious Artist Diploma in Jazz Studies at the Juilliard School under the direction of Wynton Marsalis, Greg Gisbert, and Ben Wolfe; David is currently performing and teaching in the New York, and Boston areas including a weekly Sunday residency in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Birdland Jazz Club in Midtown Manhattan with the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra with Arturo O'Farrill.

I've taken lessons from a number of instructors on several different instruments over the years and can say without a doubt that Tim is the best teacher I've ever had. He is as knowledgeable as they come on the subjects of acoustic guitar, Americana music, banjo, and just music in general, and puts this wealth of knowledge to work in figuring out how to bring the most out of a student. He patiently and intelligently worked through whatever challenges I was dealing with, and helped me grow in my playing and in my understanding of the musical concepts that we worked on. He explains things clearly and succinctly, and demonstrates everything in a very clear way. On the whole, he was a great instructor and one that I continue to be grateful to for everything that he contributed to my growth as a musician.

Tim made my guitar lessons something I looked forward to every week. He was patient and allowed me to focus on the areas that I wanted to (strumming patterns, songs I wanted to learn, etc.) He gave great feedback and was very helpful in teaching the basics, which is what I needed. Tim is an exceptional musician and I learned a lot from my lessons with him!

If you are looking for a patient and knowledgeable instructor who is excellent with first time learners-Tim is an excellent choice for a beginner instructor. I am appreciative of his constructive encouragement and flexibility.
