I am a cellist, but as an orchestra teacher full-time I am able to implement and teach techniques for all stringed instruments. We will use a variety of supplementary books and will have fun in the process! (:

About Savana

Greetings! I provide music lessons for students who are interested in learning the following instruments: cello, viola, bass, & violin. My goal is to make learning fun, while challenging students to do their best and improve each week. I began giving private lessons while still in high school. S

Typically, I use the Suzuki and Strictly Strings books for beginner students, and I will then advance to etude studies such as Wolfarht and Sevick in addition to the Suzuki sequels for my intermediate students. Lastly, I will add Introducing the Positions, Mazas, Josephine Trott Double Stops, and solo concertos to my advanced students.

About Elicia

I began violin lessons at age five, and was requested by the youth conductor to join the Palm Beach Youth Symphony a year later. For eight consecutive years, I performed with many other youth orchestras and served as concert mistress several times. At the age of thirteen, I auditioned for and joine

I love tailoring lessons to my students! Music is personal and I want to make sure you're learning what you're interested in or need to learn in order to prepare you for auditions or keep up in groups you play in. I always ask students for a list of music they're listening to or want to learn - nothing's off limits!

About Stephanie

I started Suzuki violin lessons at the age of 3 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Music degree from UW-Milwaukee. In following years, I did post graduate work at Alverno College and went on to complete Suzuki teacher training in Suzuki Books 1-4. Besides teaching private violin, viola, and pian

I've been taking lessons with Stephanie for about 3.5 months now. I was looking for a teacher with flexibility who could adapt their teaching to the student, rather than following a rigid lesson plan. Stephanie has been a great fit! Not only do I play songs that I want to learn, but also I feel like a lot of what we focus on learning is actually adapted to me. I love that if I want to experiment with a new technique, she encourages me and is there to guide me on how to approach it. Nothing ever feels out of reach (though it might take lots of practice). She focuses on consistent improvement rather than doing something right or wrong. Stephanie is also very responsive between lessons to answer questions, including with video demos. She's very helpful, positive, and overall fun to work with.

My first virtual lesson with Stephanie went really well. I was nervous as an adult beginner. Stephanie was very reassuring, engaging and fun.

When I was 20, I thought I should teach the violin. I like this instrument, and I want to share it with more people. Many people think it is not easy to learn, it doesn't start well, and it even pulls my neck. I think I wanted to tell everyone that this is an instrument that's so easy to play and doesn't cause any discomfort and hurt. So I spent many years studying to explore and think about how to teach it the easiest way, especially For beginners, how can they continue to practice. I think that through years of teaching and thinking, I have mastered some good ideas.

About QI

Ms. Qi began to study the violin at the age of 5, and was admitted to the Youth Symphony Orchestra at the age of 10; At the age of 15, she entered the 5-years program of music education at the Normal University. After graduating she entered the Central Conservatory of Music to further study violin

"When I first started studying with Lauren in 2017, I was a freshman in high school and stuck in the fifth stand of my orchestra. Six months later, I moved up to being the concert master. Lauren is amazing. She brings out the best in my playing. She has a great ear for music, she is an amazing violinist, and the best teacher I have ever had. With Lauren I was able to progress from 3rd position to 7th position in a short time. She is very kind and patient, and never gets frustrated with me (unlike all my other teachers). She is the reason I have been able to excel at violin. Best. Teacher. Ever."

"I have been taking lessons with Michael Long for the past two years at CSMA in the Bay area. Michael always speaks clearly and to the point, and I always feel heard. He knows exactly what I need to do to grow into my musicianship and encourages me with interesting exercises, technique tips and tricks, and helped me get rid of a few bad habits. Also, when I broke my wrist this year, he pivoted easily and provided extremely interesting and fun classes involving music history, musicians and performances. I would strongly recommend him as a teacher for all ages and abilities."

Violin Scales for Beginners [G Major Scale Tutorial & More!]

One of the most important aspects when learning how to play the violin is understanding scales. Learning scales will give you a solid foundation as you begin to explore new pieces of music. Violin Scales for Beginners Simply put, a violin scale is a series of notes, ordered by frequency or pitch, that span an octave (a consecutive set of eight notes.) For instance, to play a G scale, start by playing the lowest G on your violin (open G string.) Then, ascend up in pitch and play the note …
