About Eugene
Greetings and Salutations! I want to let you know, whether you're a music student or a fellow lover of music, that you have great untapped potential for music! More so than most people would tell you, because music is a powerful, life giving, uplifting gift that comes to all those that love and enjoy it.

If you have a desire to pursue music in any shape or fashion. I congratulate you! You open to yourself a brand new world filled with fun, excitement and great opportunities.

My Philosophy:

There is great music potential waiting to be untapped in yourself. I value greatly the time I spend with every student and wish them to become the very best at the instrument they wish to pursue.

There is indescribable expression to be found in music. A wide range of emotions can be conveyed along with untold stories just waiting to
be opened up. I will help foster a student's ability to see music for what it really is and help them strive for whatever musician they wish to become, whether it be for personal fulfillment, just for fun and recreation, or even in the pursuit of becoming an effective classical musician.

My Education:

My mother took me took a classical concert when I was six and I sat in the front of the stringed section. After the concert I made my decision that would shape the rest of my life, I wanted to become like those musicians.

I eventually graduated from a local music school in the following years in piano and violin and immediately went to enter the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. I was among the 10 out of 40 applicants that were eventually chosen, along with being the youngest of them as well.

After four years of study, I graduated and received my Bachelor's Degree in Music. I then went on to study for another year and received my Master's Degree in Piano.

My Other Experience:

I was Church Music Director in Kiev for Living Water Church from 2002 - 2010. I directed the adult choir, directed and led church worship services, accompanied various musicians and managed all aspects of church music responsibilities, including budgeting, rehearsals, planning and library management.

I also have been a private music teacher for several years teaching adults and young students. I planned lessons with them and established their repertoire.

I am also fluent in the Russian language and have extensive computer literacy.

Notable Recitals

Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music Kiev, Ukraine
(Winter and Spring recitals throughout 2005 to 2010)
Performed works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, and Gershwin

Music School no. 9 Kiev, Ukraine (Spring 2005, Winter 2007)

Revutzky Music College Chernihiv, Ukraine (Summer 2010)
Performed works by Beethoven and Gershwin

I do look forward to meeting you and working together with you in learning music!

Blessings

*** Lesson Details ***
I pay close attention to the fundamentals of music especially throughout the early lessons. These include reading notes, measuring tempo and rhythm, sight reading, hand positioning, posture, and technique.

I believe in positive reinforcement for all my students. Building a kind and friendly atmosphere is paramount for encouraging students, especially children, to continue pursuing music. Everyone I believe has hidden music potential, and I believe the key to unlocking this is through inspiration. Music is a grand adventure of excitement and discovery for everyone.

I am very kind and honest with my students and am never too strict with them, but I do require and greatly encourage regularly that they make habitual practice a vital part of their musical education. As the old saying goes, "Practice makes Perfect." There is great truth to that saying especially when learning a musical instrument.

Excellent Teacher

I am an older student and I started to learn to play the piano more than a year ago under a different teacher. I started with Eugene about 4 months ago. I was struggling with the piano previously. But after just 2 lessons with Eugene, I found myself playing confidently. Eugene explains so clearly and everything makes sense to me now. I enjoy practicing everyday now. He is excellent teacher, patient, and very professional. He is always on time.

I introduce children and adults to the wonderful world of music through violin. I teach basic music theory and technique from the beginner lever to the intermediate level.

About Yvonne
We will work together to learn and understand the fundamentals of piano and violin technique and theory at you own pace. No pressure and stress-free instruction.

Along with learning to play an instrument, research shows that you may have improvements in memory, language skills, ability to store audio information, discipline, ability for being attentive and planning, day to day actions such as being alert, motor skills, hearing, emotional perception (pick out exactly what others are feeling just by the tone of their voices; empathy, disappointment, etc.)

Music has always been a part of my education since my elementary school years. I continued private training throughout college, as well as after. I have my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston - Clear Lake, as well as my Life Coaching certifi
cation from The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. And I am always continuing to develop my musical skills.

Our time together is more than just about learning an instrument; it's about life improvements and developing the self!

I will encourage you, cheer you on, and support you in the way you need support to achieve your goals in piano and violin!

*** Lesson Details ***
Our time together will be relaxed, laid back and casual. Student focused instruction.

We will work on the essentials of playing the piano - from correct posture to reading music!

After 3 months you will definitely have a good foundation in order to continue forward.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would expect my students to have a piano/keyboard and/or a violin with bow

*** Specialties ***
My primary instrument is the piano, beginning to intermediate. I also teach beginner to intermediate violin using the Suzuki method books.

Learn all of the fundamentals and skills to becoming a great violinist!

About Calvin
Hello and welcome to my profile here on takelessons.com thanks for stopping by! My name is Calvin and I’ve been teaching students of all ages for more than 16 years now.
I started my personal music journey at 4 years old first learning piano and guitar and multiple other instruments from there. My father was my first music instructor which grounded me in the foundation and theory of music while at the same time knowing that ear training and learning how to play with other musicians was just as important. From there I had the privilege of learning jazz, blues, and many other styles from the late Hal Stesch at UNLV School of Music who played piano and organ for many great artists including Elvis, The Platters, Frank Sinatra, and many more. Currently my wife and lead Praise and worship 3 to 4 times weekly a two different church campuses an
d also perform every Saturday at a Branson style show in Liberty, Texas.
My approach to teaching music is to customize lessons to the student’s interests while still maintaining the essentials and foundations including music theory, scales, and reading music. I like to incorporate particular songs and genres of music that the student likes by providing customized tracks with their particular instrument taken out so that feel a sense of accomplishment and get the practice of playing along with other musicians which benefits in the ear training process. I look forward to meeting and "jamming" with you soon!

I have been playing violin for 12 years. I started learning classical, then branched out to playing movie scores, then to modern songs. I think playing the violin, or any instrument, should be a fun experience and the student needs to drive what genre they want to perform. If you play something you enjoy, you're more likely to stay with it.

I just finished a year long with playing with a local indie-electronic band where we played the Houston Whatever Fest, Superbowl Live, Lucky's pub block party for St. Patrick's day and more so if you're more of an electric violin person, I can also teach that.

We will start with fundamentals and get you to understand how to read music, along with basic first position fingering, then branch out in to the genre you're interested in. I have been teaching violin for 4 years and have loved every second of it, getting to see something click for a student is a great joy to me, so I really try to set up each of my students up for success. About Jillian
Hello! My name is Jillian, I have been playing violin for 12 years, about to be 13 here shortly. I am a fun, energetic person who loves watching others succeed. My teaching style really depends on the student, I started teaching back in 2011, and had students from 3 to 50 that obviously needed different methods for learning. I modify every lesson plan specifically to the student, taking in to consideration what genre they like, and where they want to be with proficiency.

I love all genres of music, I started with classical, then branched to rock and popular songs with songs like Carry on my Wayward Son, Stairway to Heaven, Viva La Vida and then to movie scores such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, etc. I am a huge fan of music, and the healing and stress relieving powers it has.

Every student can succeed,
it's up to the teacher to put them in a position that they can and will prevail. Music should be fun for everyone!

I have been playing violin for about 14 years now, and teaching for around 5 years. I teach a variety of styles of violin, from your base classical experience all the way out to celtic fiddle. There is a good balance of music theory mixed in to the lesson as well, enabling the student to not only play the music they're given, but also to understand it at a deeper level.

About Brandon
Hi there! I am a multi-instrumentalist that plays and teaches Violin, Guitar (Acoustic and Electric), Piano, Ukulele and the Mandolin! I play professionally with a band as well as do solo work.

I've played violin for almost 15 years now, and have been teaching for 4 years or so. I have a set curriculum in place that has seen much success in achieving a well rounded player knowledgeable not only in playing, but also in the theory behind the playing.

I've played guitar for 8 or 9 years now and have taught for 4 years as well. I play a range of styles, including but not limited to: acoustic fingerstyle, blues, and heavy metal. I teach stage performance along with guitar to prepare you for anything that might come your way in your playing career!

I teach what you want to learn and at your pace! I also teach improv in case reading music isn't for you! I make sure no matter the age or skill level of my student, they are having fun, learning, and feeling proud of themselves. It's a team effort.

About Frances
Hi, I'm Frances! I have been playing viola since 1989 and teaching off and on since 1998! I started playing violin in 1996, and have been teaching it for almost just as long. I'm originally from Minnesota, but Texas heat is perfect for me. I teach all ages, special needs, and all skill levels. I have experience playing on worship teams for over 10 years. With that experience comes the ability to improvise. That being said, if reading music isn't right for you that's okay! That's what our ears are for! In my lessons, each student is taught more than just the instrument. I teach self discipline, self worth, how to be a team player, and perseverance. Music overall is my passion. It's a language that knows no boundaries, a language we can all speak. It breaks down walls, heals broken hearts, and brings us all together. It's our common ground

What A Blessing! Frances has been my daughter's private violin instructor for a couple years now. She comes weekly to our house for lessons ranging from 30 min-1 hr depending on the material that my daughter is needing to practice. Having studied Music in college, Frances offers a very well-rounded approach to her lessons, including both reading/playing music. Students are expected to practice daily and complete assigned tasks. She is a fantastic Encourager for students of all ages!

My daughter has just completed her 1st year with Frances Witherspoon. I am amazed at how much progress she has made. More importantly, I have witnessed how patiently she works with my daughter, who can be quite inquisitive, asking numerous questions during sessions. Also, my daughter has a tendency of declaring defeat when she encounters challenges, but Frances encouragingly reassures her that she can perform the piece and pushes hers to excel, while acknowledging her frustration. In each case where my daughter wanted to give up, she was playing portions of the tune successfully by the end of the lesson. Frances is great with kids and very talented also. My daughter looks forward to her viola lessons and her grades are great in her orchestra class. I don't typically fill out these reviews, but as a parent I want the right person working with my child, so I am paying it forward by letting other parents know that she is a great instructor. Superb student- centered service with a smile.
