I teach from the earliest beginner through adult. My violin students are currently performing for different schools and ensembles. When students are performing with orchestras, much time is spent working on that music as well as their regular music.

About Diane
I have a degree and certification in violin and piano from the Boston Conservatory as well as a Master's Degree from the University of Maryland. I have had additional training and certification as a Suzuki teacher from The Suzuki Teacher Training Institute. I am a member of SAGWA-Suzuki Association of the Greater Washington Area as well as SAA-Suzuki Association of the Americas. I have played all around the world including the Vatican, White House, Paris, Russia, England and Wales as well as in Concert Halls such as Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center. I have taken students with me to perform as well in these countries and also every major concert hall in the Washington, D.C. area. I give my students opportunities to perform whenever there is an opportunity. In addition I work with students to earn music scholarships to private school
s and colleges. I am also a judge in the Young Artist Award in Maryland. In addition, I have received two White House awards for my performances at the White House, I am also a member of Psi Chi International Honor Society.

Music has been an important part of my life. It represents so much that is good in life and I do my best to communicate this to my students. I am training my students not just to be musicians but to love music for life.

*** Lesson Details ***
I treat each student as an individual since everyone is different. For some I might use a traditional approach, some just the Suzuki approach and others a combination of techniques. Whatever produces the best results. My goal is not to make strictly classical musicians but to train students to love music and carry this love throughout life. My repertoire consists of everything including traditional, Suzuki, Disney, Showtunes, etc. I have taken students to perform little concerts at the White House, schools, hospitals and concert halls to get the real feel of performing. I view lessons as a three way relationship between myself, the student and the parent so that the parent is not left out. I even have a small group called Musical Magic which incorporates magic into music. I feel I am laid back but am able to accomplish my goal through positive reinforcement. Every child or student wants to feel good about his/her playing. If you believe in yourself, anything is possible. If you want online lessons, please contact me through Take Lessons since I have additional availability to teach online. In the past six months my students have performed for the National Humane Society at their animal ball, a multi teacher recital on a local stage, and just two weeks ago seven of them performed at Strathmore. This summer I have two more concerts planned. Coming up will be an all instrument graduation with several other teachers where students receive medals for their performances. No student is required to perform but if they want to the opportunity is there. All students are required to have an instrument prior to beginning lessons. If students need to rent a violin, I will provide you with the name of a violin dealer that both rents and sells string instruments. Piano students must have a piano or keyboard.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I teach at home and have both a grand piano and electric keyboard in addition to a harp and violin.

*** Travel Equipment ***
When my students have to travel to perform, I make sure they have everything they need.

*** Specialties ***
Traditional and Suzuki approaches for both violin and piano. I also teach children with learning disabilities.and have extensive summer programs to help students with auditions for youth orchestras and school orchestras.

Whether you're a beginner looking to explore a new instrument, or a young professional preparing for an orchestral or college audition, I'm eager to share my passion of music with you. Throughout my teaching career, I have been successful at helping students bring out the very best they can offer. I'm strict and have very high expectations, but I have been also praised for being encouraging and supportive. I strongly believe in the power of music, and the many benefits of learning a musical instrument.

About Ferenc
Music has been my greatest passion all my life, and teaching it is so rewarding!

I have played violin since I was eight years old, continued my music education in a special music high school, and eventually earned all my college degrees in violin performance (an Artist Diploma (5 yrs.) from the Franz Liszt Academy (conservatory) of Music in Budapest, Hungary, a Master's Degree from SIU-Carbondale, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison). I've been teaching for 21 years, of which 18 years also as a full-time university professor. Besides teaching, I've been active as a chamber musician (mainly piano trio and string quartet) as well as in orchestral playing (with more than a dozen professional orchestras, including the Las Vegas Philharmonic and the Spokane Symphony).

Ferenc is simply the best teacher and performer we've come across. Both of our kids are currently working with him, and they are progressing very well. His fees are reasonable for the expertise my kids are getting. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend Ferenc to anyone looking for a violin instructor in the Las Vegas area. I'm an adult beginner who has always wanted to learn the violin. I spent quite a while looking into teachers before I decided on Ferenc and I'm very happy with my choice. He's a very good teacher. I leave each lesson playing (at least a little) better than I did when I walked in. Ferenc knows his craft and he's very good at pointing out both your strengths and areas that could use improvement. He always gives me concrete things I can work on in between lessons and they help a lot. His instruction has been invaluable and I'm certain I wouldn't be progressing at the same rate if I had tried to learn on my own or even with a less skilled teacher. I look forward to continuing to work on my skills with his help.

Hi! I’m Hana, a student at Lakeside School. Music is my passion, and I have been playing the violin for over 13 years. I have studied under teachers including Jan Coleman (Coleman Studio) and Professor Ron Patterson (University of Washington). I am concertmaster of my school orchestra and also play in the Seattle Youth Symphony. I also won first place for solo violin at my regional division of WMEA Solo and Ensemble.

I believe that a good technical foundation is essential to advance your playing, so as a teacher I will ensure that my students have all of the tools necessary to produce a beautiful sound. I also strongly believe that effective practicing is vital to advancement on the violin, so another one of my priorities is teaching my students how to practice. Additionally, I recognize that all my students have very different goals, and I always to tailor lessons to suit their individual objectives.

My lessons are inspired by the Suzuki pedagogy, which emphasizes foundational skills (and an excellent music repertoire!) for both young and old players, but I am well-versed in many styles beyond classical music.

Whether you want to learn classical music, Irish fiddle, or techniques for pop and modern music, I can assist you in achieving a confident understanding of violin fundamentals through performance and music theory.

About Catherine
I started taking piano lessons at age 4 and violin at age 8. Classically trained on the Suzuki method, I have years of experience with solo performance, orchestral work, small ensembles, and professional gigs. I began teaching private lessons on violin in 2009, and my students have ranged from 4 to 68 years old.

My credits include numerous leadership positions as concertmaster, assistant concertmaster, and principal second violin in school and community orchestras, including Maitland Middle School, Winter Park High School, Florida Young Artist's Orchestra, UCF Symphony Orchestra, and the Great Woods Chamber Orchestra. I was invited to perform at the Midwest Conference and Carnegie Hall in 2006 and 2007.
