It's no surprise that it's hard to learn an instrument as an adult. Apart from a semester of guitar lessons in college, I had no musical training and no understanding of music theory. All I knew was that I loved the sound of a cello, and I was graciously gifted one on my 28th birthday.

I am proud to say that I have been Rachel's cello student for over three years now. Since the beginning, Rachel has made sure that I felt comfortable during our lessons, and she remains reassuring even when I get discouraged with my bow hold or tight fingers.

Rachel has taught me a lot about music theory, but she's mostly taught me how to love my instrument. It has been amazing to see and hear the progress I've made, and she continues to give me more exciting challenges to practice each week. She's been attentive to my learning style and my ever-evolving cello goals, and I've been consistently impressed with how she's been able to keep our lessons interesting and fun over the years.

Rachel and I meet for an hour once a week and I look forward to every lesson! She has been the best instructor, and I look forward to many more lessons to come.

I’m an adult student and Rachael has been my instructor for almost two years now. She’s very knowledgeable and PATIENT! Ive grown so much in the past two years and I’m looking forward to more.

Jordan was very helpful right from the start. He listened to me on where I am at and where I want to be. He showed me a few things that we will work towards and then helped me understand my instrument much better. Gave me some fun new things to practice before the next lesson. If you're looking for a lesson that is interactive and fun I recommend Jordan and the online thing is supper easy and handy. I don't think it could have gone any better. The lesson was 45 minutes and it felt like 10.

Jordan is excellent & very patient.

Jordan is a fantastic teacher! He expertly and patiently guided my young son from essentially 0 to reading notes and playing them on the guitar in about half an hour. He is clearly an experienced musician who loves to teach. We are looking forward to the next lesson.

"This was my boys first lesson and they loved it. They were so excited after class. Telling me that it felt way to short and that they are eager to have more lessons with Alyssa.
I’m also very pleased as she is a warm and welcoming person and I had an easy time communicating with her about what exactly I am looking for, our schedule, and also difficulties with entering our first lesson.

The boys will definitely, and with joy, continue their music journey with Alyssa."

"When looking for an instructor what is best to find is knowledge of the subject. When it comes to Mr. Newbold, he delivers; Whether it be current or past. He has had outstanding experience with acclimating to every student's needs and learning style. He provides a great environment/atmosphere which is critical to learning. If his credentials don't speak enough, then his personal musical talent should."

"When I was third trumpet Dr D was the Drum Major. Our marching and field show bands under NY legend David Bournazian won many local and state competitions. I was just happy to be part of it, but Dr. D was leading it. He has deep knowledge of music theory and is equally expert at improvisation. His ability to communicate theory to beginners or higher level learners is amazing. He has the unique skill of being able to make complex concepts seem simple with illustrative examples until you find yourself starting to 'get it'. Highly recommended."

"Catherine’s amazing spirit and passion for learning has been keystone in her connections and successes with experts in the brilliantly niche discipline of music and the theory behind it. Her training is evident in her thorough and methodical approach to a variety of anxiety-boding topics such as augmented sixth-chords and proper voice leading between chords. Catherine’s positive outlook and confidence in her students’ success and progress is transparent and provided me with concrete knowledge and skills that allowed me to perform at the highest level of preparation for assessments and assignments. Without Catherine’s attitude, expertise, and personalized attention, I would not have ever been able to get through my prerequisite courses in my undergraduate training. Music Theory is stressful enough— Catherine’s approach makes it all make genuine sense."
