Learn and understand what makes music pleasing to the ear... apply basic fundamentals to more advanced theory to improve your playing on any instrument! Must have knowledge of your instrument, with the exception of the instruments listed as subjects that I teach (piano or electric/acoustic guitar/bass)!

About Jonathan
I started my musical education in a children'€™s choir at age 6.
When I turned 8 years old, I began piano lessons. I started violin
at 9 and trombone at 10. After studying numerous instruments I am now proficient on the piano, electric/acoustic bass, and guitar. Having completed my tour of duty in the U.S. Army, I am currently on the Dean'€™s list as a music/audio production major, and plan to continue my music education until I earn at least a masters in performance and composition. I started my teaching career at Milestones in Music, a local studio, as an independent contractor, and was able to gain valuable experience, and through my membership in the National Association for Music Education(NAfME) I was able to fine tune my curriculum. I am a former student member of the Grammy U Recording Academy, and have had opportunities to
work with, and learn from a lot of different musicians. (The Recording Academy is the organization that created the most prestigious
award in music, the Grammy). I am the band leader at my church Montco Bible Fellowship. I have experience as an audio tech in the studio and for a live stage, and have consulted for organizations looking to setup a sound system/studio. I enjoy recording my own music in my home studio, and learning to play new instruments. I hope to pass my love for music to the next generation!

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a very laid back instructor... as you will find out! I understand that not everyone learns at the same rate; however, I am a perfectionist and don't allow students to advance until they have learned a particular skill. I would rather a student take forever to learn a song, and practice it with good technique, than be able to play it right away with poor form and posture! I reinforce the value of working toward goals and celebrate with students when they reach them.  I understand that every student has different interests and reasons for wanting to learn an instrument... I try to focus on the areas that are of interest to the student, because a student who is enjoying themself will excel.  This does not mean that the subjects and skills that are not of interest will not be taught, because I also believe in being a well-rounded musician. I teach both jazz (theory/improvisation) and classical (composed) music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
My studio is currently not optimal for teaching... I hope to change this soon!!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide lesson books and other learning materials, but expect to be reimbursed. I expect the student to have their own instrument/equipment. Piano students are required to have a piano or a keyboard with 88 weighted keys (hammer-action), a piano bench and a pedal. Guitar/bass students must have an acoustic/electric guitar/bass with a strap or footstool, pick, and cable and amplifier if applicable! Digital audio students must have their own computer, Digital Audio workstation (software), digital audio interface, speakers/headphones and midi controller. ALL STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE A NOTEBOOK (college rule or staff)!!

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical and jazz piano! I am more than proficient at most production software including: reason, fl studio, ableton live... and other editing software such as sony sound forge, audacity, etc...

I can teach you quite a large amount about music theory

About Scott
Hi! I'm Scott. I perform with a one-man band setup I created which utilizes a modified guitar and home-made foot pedals to control a drum set, while I sing on top of it all. I have a recording studio at home, and have performed with bands as a singer, guitarist, saxophonist, bassist, percussionist, and as a sound engineer. I've written, performed and recorded my own album which made it to the 2nd round of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, and was a voting member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Grammy Committee and NARAS (National Association or the Recording Arts and Sciences.) I started piano lessons from age 5 and just kept picking up more instruments and gear as I got older and never stopped learning or enjoying it!

*** Lesson Details ***
I have been teaching Guitars, Basses, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Music Production, Re
cording, and Live Sound for 16 years.

I can teach you note-reading, tabs, ear training, music theory, composition, improvisation in just about any style of music.

Working with people writing songs is something I enjoy thoroughly; I can help you write and record your own songs. A computer and internet access are preferred to take full advantage of the technology for learning and producing music.

Knowledgeable in Instrument repair, set-up, and maintenance, I can help you fix it, and how to spot a good instrument.

Patient and experienced, with a broad knowledge of music in most areas, I can give you hundreds of good references from previous students I've taught over the years

*** Studio Equipment ***

Guitars, basses, percussion and drum sets, a piano, saxophones, hand drums, a 20-track digital recording studio with monitors that are equalized to the room's acoustics for accurate listening and mixing, plus an assortment of microphones, amps, mic stands, cables, and connectors.

From the moment I had my phone interview with Paul, I knew he was the right instructor for my son. We met for a trial lesson and sure enough he was exactly what we were looking for. My 12 yr. old has just excelerated in his music reading skills that I could not teach him on my own having started him on the keyboard myself since he was seven but was not successful. Paul is not afraid to stretch him and communicate to him in a way that he pleasantly receives along with weaving music history teaching continuously throughout the lesson. Right out of the gate his technique was addressed and the foundation was set up front and my son has an obvious, beautiful, step above, touch. Very grateful!

From understanding the basis of cadences through the cycle of fifths, to learning about chord substitutions and guide-tones for jazz, a strong knowledge of music theory is important for the composer, improvisor, and performer alike.

About Tim
I earned my master’s degree in jazz studies from The University of the Arts. As adjunct professor of music at Lebanon Valley College, I teach double bass, bass guitar, jazz improvisation, and directs small-group jazz combos. Working with students of all ages, I also teach workshops, clinics, and master classes at high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools in Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as keeping a private teaching studio out of my Bucks County home.

Lessons are available on upright bass, electric bass, improvisation, music theory, and ear training at all ability levels and all ages, from absolute beginners to high school students preparing for college auditions to adults. Some of my students have been accepted to various regional orchestras and jazz bands, and I'm very proud of their hard work.

While having an outl
ined curriculum to develop my students’ technique, reading, and knowledge of theory, I cater to their interests by showing them how to apply what the are learning to the music that they already know and love.

Music theory has been a part of my life since I began playing the piano at age 5. I believe music theory is the foundation of music. Understanding music theory means understanding the language of music. My students learn how to read, write and compose music with my method of teaching music theory. My method involves explaining music theory in a simple way that is easy to grasp, remember and apply. You will begin to read music on the First lesson!

About Nikiya
I specialize in artist development and train students who want to progress to a professional level, total package performer (piano, vocals, music theory, songwriting, composing, music business, audition prep, performance). My background in psychology helps my students identify and conquer challenges. With over 20 years of experience as a pianist, singer, and songwriter, performing with artists including Anita Baker, Diana Ross, and Ne-Yo has given me the tools needed to help you reach your potential. I've learned from the best and know how to bring out the best in my students!

Through the foundation I've gained by the influences of Mel Bay, Hal Leonard, and Suzuki musical instruction methods, I compile my own teaching materials. Using personally constructed guitar lessons, I demonstrate, instruct, and guide the student based on my assessment of their individual needs, skill level, and progress. Lessons are formulated in Modules, and advancement through them is based on the student's personal aptitude, skill level, and practice commitment. Learning is accomplished by ear as well as through essential methods of musical notation (tablature, 5-line staff, rhythmic comprehension). Students are trained to perform written music as well as to write and express the music within themselves.
I'm an encouraging and motivating guitar teacher with a casual relaxed approach. Teaching new guitarists is very rewarding to me. To see the light come on and watch a student perform a song, express themselves musically, and create their own composition is an awesome experience.

About Scott
The key to learning guitar......is finding the right instructor!

I am an encouraging, effective guitar instructor and an experienced performing musician, offering in-person beginner through intermediate guitar instruction in my home and on line.

It is very rewarding to me to help others along the journey of creative expression through music. To see the light come on and watch a student perform a song, express themselves musically, and create their own composition is an awesome experience.
To kick back after a long day and let your soul speak through a musical instrument is a wonderful release. Please let me guide you along this incredible adventure to bring out that inner artist!

You'll learn guitar playing posture, strumming patterns and an understanding of rhythm, tuning, chords progressions and chord theory, basic principle
s of reading tablature and 5 line staff, and great popular songs. You'll be playing your favorite tunes in no time!

Through formal and self- instructed lessons from age 12, I've learned country, folk, blues, rock, and metal techniques and formed several local bands as lead vocalist and lead/rhythm guitarist.
Writing and recording my own music has been a hobby for over 30 years.

An active music enthusiast from a young age, I began with clarinet technique and music theory from age 9 through public schools, performing in orchestra and marching band.

I started with Scott as a newbie and he has definitely helped me grow as a guitarist. He takes time and makes things easier to learn. As complicated learning can be, he simplifies it and breaks it down. When I feel like I’m not progressing he always shows me how I am. His modules are easy to follow. His teaching style is compatible with all types of learners whether you are visual, hands on or a listener. It’s not just business with him. He’s always available for questions after or between lessons. He’s knowledgeable in equipment so don’t hesitate to ask for some advice on what to buy. He’s affordable and lesson times are flexible. Are you hoping to get a jump start on your college courses? Are you trying to write songs, but they never come out the way you hope they will? Have you played an instrument for years, but are interested in understanding the nuts and bolts of how music is constructed?

I'll take you through an in-depth and personalized curriculum of understanding the music that you love through a focused survey and analysis of what it is; how to ready it, its formalized structure, the notes and the chords and how they interact with one another, and onwards.

If you are a more advanced student looking to hone your compositional abilities, I can also offer a more advanced tutorial into music theory and practice, including things such as romantic harmony, twelve-tone theory and beyond.

About Tyler
Hi, I'm Tyler! Born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, I am the son of a band director. That being said, I have literally been involved in music since I was an infant! I played trombone, bass trombone, and bass guitar all the way through high school, and went to New Mexico State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music, and then moved to Los Angeles, California, where I received my Master's Degree at California Institute of the Arts, where I also learned to play the other brass instruments, as well as composition and arranging.

Throughout my career, I've been able to do some great things with music. I have been able to travel Europe and work with one of the world's finest brass instrument manufacturers, Michael Rath, I have toured Colombia with my University's Wind Ensemble, I've recorded at Capitol Records in Hollywo
od, and have written and premiered numerous works for orchestra and rock ensemble, trombone choirs, and even a duet for quarter tone trumpets!

I have an affinity for modern and avant garde music, but am well-versed in all genres and musical styles! I also like to play in and record rock and roll bands, I've amassed a quite a few years of recording experience as well. From gypsy bands to thrash metal groups, I've recorded a wide array of music.

I also taught in the classroom from grades k-12 for a few years before following my true passion of teaching privately. I love to reach you at your own level and work to grow with you from there.

My goal is simple: I simply want you to come to love music as much as I do, if not more! I strive to give you the tools to become a successful musician in your own right, and I work to keep my lessons fun and engaging.
