I am pretty easy going. I want you to feel comfortable and at ease, but we do need to focus and can have fun doing it. :)
I utilize various methods for each instrument, which is determined by the students learning style and ability; needs, so this can change as time goes on (not sticking to one particular publishers materials). While ensuring an extremely well-rounded musical education, so you can progress at the best possible rate. Since each student's potential is different, each will progress differently. About Jennifer
My name is Jennifer. I got my degree in vocal performance and minored in Jazz. I began voice lessons myself when I was eight. I am a mezzo soprano, and can teach both female and male voices. I have performed in several opera productions including but not limited to The Marriage of Figaro, Dido and Aeneus, Tenderland, and Hand of Bridge. I have worked and performed in masterworks by Brahms, Chopin, Mozart to name a few. I studied in French, English, Spanish, Italian, and German. I studied diction, ear training, piano, music history, pedagogy, and music theory. I have also performed with artists such as New York Voices, Bobby Mcferrin and Kurt Elling. I was blessed with many learning opportunities to grow in my passion and I would love to pass that knowledge and passion to anyone who wants to learn.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are de
signed around the needs of each student. The first lessons is always spent testing range, knowledge and abilities already known by the student. Then the student weighs in on what kind of music they would like to learn and what they hope to gain from the lessons. Theory and ear training are incorporated into the lessons. We work on breathing, technique and style. Generally we start with English or Italian. We work on vocal performance from a classical standpoint but Jazz and Broadway can also be taught if desired by the student. Scales and exercises are given each week to be worked on until the next lesson. A recording device is encouraged if the student cannot play the piano. Also, a voice note book to take notes during the lesson to be used during practice during the week.

*** Specialties ***
classical voice and jazz voice.

About Christian
Music is my passion. I've been playing music since I was a child but didn't get serious with it until I was 14, that's when I got my first electric guitar. So, from then on I've been playing and studying music for over 16 years. I play and teach guitar, piano, drums, and bass guitar. Aside from taking years of private lessons with a number of teachers I also studied music and audio engineering in college. I'm constantly learning more. I keep my chops up by practicing and reading books by other professionals and songwriters. So, I have an arsenal of books and musical knowledge. When I'm not teaching I spend most of my time writing and recording my original solo music. I have a rock band that I've been playing with for over a decade. We are currently in the studio recording our first professional album.

I'm a ver
y patient teacher. I understand that not everyone learns the same way so I specialize in breaking things down and making music as simple as it can be for each kind of student. I don't use just one method, I pull from my arsenal of acquired knowledge, books, and my own studies. I keep lessons fun and interesting. A normal lesson with me would consist of two parts the first 30 minutes we would focus on learning and practicing warm ups, exercises, licks, notes, scales, chords, arpeggios, timing, rudiments, dynamics, ear training, theory, technique, etc. And the second half we would work on a song or jam together. Depending on the age and level of student, after spending six months studying with me you will be a rock star! LOL. Well, you may not have a recording contract, but you will have gained a volume of knowledge and taken your playing up a few levels. It's all about how much time and practice you put in and how much you want it. Every student has there own pace and desire so I do my part to help them become the best that they want to be.

I teach everything from basic harmonic skills and music theory knowledge to advanced classical counterpoint and music analysis. Beginner to advanced music notation and reading. Rhythmic analysis. Intervals, chords, key signatures, time signatures, solfege, etc. ... .

About Paul
As a teacher (and also father) Paul finds great joy in sharing his experience and insight with the next generation of creative musicians. For many years, he has taught drummers and percussionists of all ages and levels in academic settings as well as privately. He has also taught workshops and masterclasses at several renowned venues and music conservatories while touring with bands throughout Europe (Royal Academy of Music, London UK; Hull University, Hull UK; Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood, Paris FR).
Playing music has always been a part of Paul's life. Growing up in a family of musicians, he started playing cello at age 6 and he's been playing drums since age 8. After an extensive classical tutelage at the Music Conservatory in Esch/Alzette (Luxembourg) and at various music workshops throughout the world, he completed both underg
raduate and graduate studies at Manhattan School of Music, learning from the likes of John Riley, David Liebman, Samir Chatterjee & Michael Abene.
Paul has since been able to make a name for himself among the local and international music industry as an accomplished drummer and forward-thinking composer. He has performed at several international festivals (North Sea Jazz Festival) and at some of the world's most prestigious jazz clubs in the US and overseas. Paul has appeared alongside such emerging stars as David Binney, Linda Oh, Ambrose Akinmusire, Will Vinson, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Lage Lund, Mike Moreno and Tim Collins.

Whether my students are young or old, taking lessons as a hobby or wish to pursue a career in music, I tailor my lessons to meet each individual student’s needs and expectations.
I have a lot of fun teaching and I want you or your child to have fun during our lessons.
My students learn music in the most natural and intuitive way possible. I try to build on what the student already likes, listens to and has a passion for. I encourage students to bring their favorite songs and we usually end up working with those. I also like using songs by The Beatles as they provide a perfect (fun and familiar) platform to learn many different aspects of drumming and musical performance.
In addition to being a drummer and percussionist, I have a strong background in music theory and I want to make sure my students not only know how to play their instrument, but also become familiar with reading and writing music.
After a few months in the studio, you or your child can expect to have a better understanding of music and have acquired the basic tools and techniques which will allow you to play your favorite pieces of music.

Paul is great teacher. My 7 year old son and I have been taking lessons with Paul for several months and I'm very please with the progress that we have both made. Paul has done a great job at tailoring my son's and my lessons to reflect the difference in age, skill, and musical interests. He has taught us fundamentals and technique but has also incorporated songs into the lessons, which is helping us build skill, while making it more fun. I would recommend him both for kids and adults. He has a great personality and is very patient, responsible, and puntual.

I have little musical training and absolutely no experience playing the drums but thought it would be a fun thing to do in my free time. I'm 31 and did not have high expectations that I would be able to handle even basic 3-limbed coordination. After sitting down with Paul once, it was a happy revelation to find out that I was actually capable of learning. He is patient & observant. For a beginner like me, he does a good job of structuring incremental exercises, while simultaneously finding songs at my level, so I could learn to play a song from beginning to end after only a few lessons. He's good at keeping me on track and encouraging me to practice. I feel lucky that my first experience learning the drums has been with such a great teacher!

I've been studying music theory for six years, and I've been a music theory tutor for three years. I currently study music theory pedagogy at the Peabody Institute, and I am a graduate assistant for the music theory department.
Music theory is a mathematical approach to music, and can successfully be taught to every type of learner. I have experience teaching student just beginning, studying musical form, counterpoint, atonality, and ear training. Music theory can be abstract, but it improves the understanding and appreciation of music to a listener, composer, and performer.

About Madeline
Hello! I'm Madeline, and I'm a vocal performance and music theory pedagogy major at Peabody Institute. I've been a music theory tutor since Fall 2014, and teaching private voice lessons since January 2015. I love introducing students to new repertoire, showing them a different way of looking at concepts, and helping students realize how smart and talented they are. I want my students to feel prepared for where their love of music takes them, and we are absolutely going to have fun while learning. I'm excited that you are interested in learning, too, and I cannot wait to hear from you.

Where should I start?

I tried out a few teachers that I found throughout the Tulsa area. Saied's, Tulsa Guitar Shop, even all the way down in Bixby. But from the VERY FIRST lesson, I immediately knew it was a good fit with Ron. I only knew a few chords and felt embarrassed to show the "lack" of what I knew about guitar, but he was able to meet me right where I was at and help me to progress immediately.

After a year of lessons, I can play many different songs and I am still learning new things.

Ron is great. He gives my son input and definitely knows a lot about the Trombone. My son was having trouble learning one of the songs in band class, so Ron recorded a video of himself playing the song and sent it to me!! I couldn't believe how willing he is to go above and beyond to help my son succeed.

First off - Ron is incredibly patient. I think that's kind of essential to be a good teacher, but it definitely doesn't go unnoticed.

Presentable and Professional
As small as it is, I actually really appreciate the little details that he puts into making the experience great. Not only does he do a phenomenal job teaching, I immediately noticed the beautiful flowers and investments he puts into keeping his yard presentable. Again, I know it's small and kind of irrelevant to teaching.. but in my opinion, it's important.

Lastly, his home studio is so cute. He always has snacks and gum for me or my daughter. He even has a water dispenser for cold water. I really appreciate the thought he puts into making me and my daughter feel right at home.
