My son has been taking lessons from Connie and we love having her as his teacher! She helps him with his confidence playing solo and also working through school orchestra music... he’s now one of the more advanced in his group! Connie focuses on the details to set up a good foundation and has been great helping him with some bad habits he devolved years ago. She has lots of experience with every age group and teaches all the way through very advanced level. Thankful she came recommended to us!
Jeanne
She's very good. Very patient and clear. She'll tailor the lessons to your level of understanding. I'm an older adult learner with no musical knowledge at all and am learning fast thanks to her. I look forward to continuing my lessons.

I so appreciated my first Lesson with Nick! We had planned to meet in person, but because of the current quarantine had to have class online - and it was wonderful! He was encouraging and clear and was able to diagnose some of my bad habits and give me ways to get past them. He also generously shared resources and repertoire. I'm much looking forward to continuing with him - just what I needed both musically and to keep my spirits up!

"Mallory has been a great instructor for my 9 year old learning to play violin. She was willing to purchase materials out of her own pocket to keep my daughter's lessons cohesive with her previous instructor. So flexible with availability, and so kind, positive, and cheerful that it keeps the lessons fun for my little girl!"

"It's been 3/4 year since we've been with her, and she is absolutely awesome! She totally earned my daughter's respect. Meeting a right teacher is so important because it took some time to correct the bad habit she aquired and continued that her previous teacher let go. Ms. Kan is absolutely one of the best teacher we had so far!"

"Great Teacher!!!

Kimberly is an excellent teacher and I highly recommend her. She is patient with you as a student and explains things at your level. She is very knowledgable about music as she plays many instruments and has a great ear. As an adult student she had me learn to read music early in the lesson which I found to be very helpful. Lessons are at her home and it is in an appropiate setting. My Lessons fly by as she has an engaging teaching style and she stays focused on helping your improvement from week to week. She is flexible in rescheduling your weekly lesson if needed.I would rate her an A+ as a Music teacher!"

"Elicia is a very patient instructor, able to work with the shyest of people. I began taking lessons once a week, as able thanks to work and health. I wanted to learn violin to help my brain think different. Any instrument is good for enhancing creativity.

I ended up learning other things about myself. I'm still shy in front of teachers, even after spending time as a teacher myself (of mythology). After the first lesoon to two, I learned how to relax the tension in my wrists, a place I carry it often. Learning to work with the bow taught me skills to release that tension any time. I was quite amazed.

Elicia is good at providing what is needed, whether skills, adaptations , or simply a listening ear. She has helped me slowly increase my sense if self-worth, and for that I am very thankful. She recently helped me find ways to work with worsening carpal tunnel, to hopefully keep me learning and practising until such a time as I can have surgery.

I would highly recommend Elicia to anyone looking to learn the violin!"

"Jill is great!

My husband and I were both delighted at how much progress our daughters (at the time aged 6 and 4) made with the violin under Jill’s careful guidance. Jill is very good with children, and in each lesson she gently engaged her students’ attention on the music and on learning new techniques. The result was that both of our daughters were focused and made real progress every single week.

We found that the Suzuki method of learning has worked very well for our daughters. Both of them (now aged 10 and 8) have gone on to play several in junior violin ensembles and take real pleasure and pride in their playing. They love music, and much of that is down to the wonderful early grounding they received from Jill."

Are You Making the Most of Your Violin Practice?

Gifted musicians don't appear from nowhere fully-formed and ready to take to the concert platform.  For every 45-minute concerto or 90-minute recital you hear, hours of hard work have gone into every note, every phrase, and even how the music is approached, learned, and memorized! It may seem strange to say that proper practice is the most nerve-wracking element of mastering your violin, but if you don't know how to structure the session, how can you ever be sure that you're working on the rig …
