With my line development/phrasing techniques, you will have your own library of “licks” that will help you navigate both simple and sophisticated harmonic progressions. All of my students learn:

Sight reading (standard notation/tablature)

We will focus 1/2 of the lesson on repertoire and 1/2 the lesson on technique. Many of my students text/email me a few days prior to our scheduled lesson with a song selection for the week. I focus our lesson's technical study with the song in mind. It has proven to be very effective and makes the technique and theory are less "boring."

Eric is a great singing instructor! He's doing a great job tailoring the lessons to fit my skill level and goals as an amateur learning basic technique. For the first few lessons, he took the time to understand my voice, taught me exercises to learn how to better control my voice, and helped me practice singing some of my favorite (pop) songs. I feel like my voice and understanding of singing has improved significantly in even just a handful of lessons. Eric is also very patient and encouraging, which has given me a lot more confidence in enjoying my hobby to its fullest extent!

My voice is in the best shape it's ever been and I sound better than I ever have! I've been with Eric for years and have continued to get better the entire time. I come from a choral, liturgical signing background, so he's helped me with placement, chest voice, and pronunciation for pop, rock, country, and other genres. I highly recommend!

Music theory provides musicians with a deeper understanding of the building blocks and underlying structure of music. By learning about music notation, chords and harmony, and the musical tradition of various performance eras, we can do many other aspects of music even better--perform, compose, improvise, transcribe, and direct.

I teach Music Theory I and II at the University of Louisville.

About Lauren
Hello! My name is Lauren Spavelko, and I am excited to bring out the musician in you!

We have all sorts creating and learning—children and adults in their first lessons, teens and preteens performing and competing, working professionals looking for a creative love, and retirees coming back to an instrument from many years before. We have parents & children, siblings, and friends who learn and love to make music together!

Whether you're searching for yourself or your child, I would love to invite you to Musical Life—my beautiful in-home studio—and help you meet your musical goals.

We focus on developing true artistry and giving them the fundamental tools to be able to play and create various styles of music including classical, musical theater, folk, contemporary, Christian, and more.

We play from the very first lesson and l
earn other concepts such as music theory, literacy, and technique in subsequent lessons.

My students are involved in school & community ensembles, school & community theater, and district contests. I support and seek out these opportunities according to their interests.

Please send me a note! I can't wait to get started.

I been playing guitar for 30 years and I've learned a lot on the way. I Studied under some great teachers at Musicians Institute as well as taking private lessons with some amazing Jazz guitarist. I like to break down theory in a way that makes it easy to understand. I've boughten books and watched videos that ( in my opinion ) over complicates things, so I've developed a method that simplifies things.

About Dan
I'm a lead and rhythm guitarist. I went to Musicians Institute and graduated the Professional Guitar Program. I am currently a teacher at a school where I teach a classroom of 60 t0 70 students and private lessons as well. I have also managed and ran a recording studio for over 10 years. I'm Proficient at Logic Pro and Garage Band. If recording and producing your own music is something you would like to learn as well I can definitely help you achieve that goal.

I developed a curriculum and method of teaching guitar that simplifies theory and the learning process. I go out of my way to explain things that makes playing enjoyable and easy to understand. My goal is to get my students playing music and to enjoy the process. I teach students of all ages and levels.

My styles range from Blues,Rock, the styles of Jimi Hendrix, Funk, Soul, P

Dan is an amazing teacher. When I came to him first, I barely knew how to hold a guitar. He took me under his wings, and almost ten months later, he transformed my playing where I now actually sound like I'm playing a real song.

He is extremely talented, very gifted, and really really good at teaching. He excels in breaking down a concept, or helping me figure out the right way to play a chord, or a lick. He has also proved that he has an amazing ear, helping me learn a song (that he's never heard before), by breaking it down, and de-constructing it.

I am very happy with him being my teacher, and I look forward to learning a lot from him.
