My daughter really enjoys Adam's energy, integrity and no fluff attitude. His advice and coaching are spot on and in a few sessions, she has really opened up to what needs to be worked on and where her strengths are.

I'm seeing Adam for accent reduction and for deepening the pitch of my voice (I sound too girly in business meetings). My colleagues really noticed a difference! It took about 8 weeks to get to the point where it was noticeable enough. I will continue with the lessons to make the it stick. Plus, it is fun! Adam makes me laugh every time!

Adam is a great teacher. This was my first time taking voice lessons (adult beginner) and I wasn't sure what to expect. But Adam's ear is sharp as hell. HE doesn't miss anything and doesn't let me off the hook when I lose focus or miss a note. Anytime I feel like I messed up but don't think he caught it, he always catches it!

Which tells me he's legit. Highly recommended.

I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree at the Eastman School of Music in vocal performance and literature. I believe in empowering my students so that they can sing in all styles of music that interest them with ease and freedom. Good singing is good singing and I am comfortable teaching classical, musical theater, pop, jazz, country etc. I like to set up my students with a strong foundation for singing so that they can practice efficiently and overcome vocal obstacles without my instruction.

About Michael
Hello everyone, I am Michael Aiello - I am currently in school at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY pursuing my doctoral degree in vocal performance and literature. I have sung all over the world in operas, musicals and with professional choirs. I enjoy teaching all levels of singing and love to inspire my students to reach their full potential. Singing should be fun and it can become even more exciting when the fundamentals start to fall into place. I am a casual but professional teacher and like to tailor my teaching to each one of my students. I like to make singing a very concrete and sensation based learning experience so students can rely on more than just their ears to guide themselves. Good singing is good singing, period - any genre ,any style... it all stems from the basics and setting up a strong foundation on
which to build the voice.

American baritone Michael Aiello most recently performed the role of Lieutenant Audebert in Silent Night by Kevin Puts with Buffalo Opera in New York. Other recent credits include: Sam in Trouble in Tahiti by Leonard Bernstein at the Aspen Opera Center, Marcello in La Boheme by Puccini in San Diego, CA and Tom in Gershiwin’s, Blue Monday with Opera de Tijuana in Mexico. Michael will return to the Aspen Opera Center this summer to sing Frederick Egerman in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. Most recently on the concert stage he was the baritone soloist for the Monteverdi Vespro della Beata Vergine at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessop and Haydn’s Seasons with the Eastman Philharmonia in Rochester, NY. In 2016 Michael received the second-place award in the Palm Springs Opera Guild Rossini Competition adjudicated by the famous Rossini tenor, Rockwell Blake. Mr. Aiello is currently pursuing a doctorate in music performance and literature at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY where in 2019 will sing the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.

I started lessons with Michael having done both contemporary voice and years of choir. But prior to training with Michael, I'd never really been coached as to how to properly sing in a classical style. He's allowed me to find an entire element of my voice I didn't know I had and made it incredibly straightforward to progress. I now absolutely love singing in a way I didn't previously think I would.

I have been teaching piano, voice, guitar, and songwriting for over 10 years, and my students have gotten into music schools such as Berklee College of Music and Celia Cruz Music High School in the Bronx. Other accomplishments include wonderful performances, even from the shyest students, at Summer and Winter Recitals, building bands and performing regularly, being cast in Cirque du Soleil and off-Broadway shows, and becoming teachers themselves.
Within the first lesson you be will playing/singing and reading music, and as times goes by you will be able to choose your favorite songs to learn and perform. I specialize in several styles of piano (jazz, improvisation, classical), guitar (fingerpicking, acoustic), singing (all genres), and songwriting (jazz, contemporary). I offer recording sessions anytime during our lessons, which is extremely helpful for singing and songwriting students.
I don’t use one set of books – I tailor our lesson goals and needs to every student. Not every ...

About Katrina
Hello! I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music, with a Bachelor’s degree in Writing and Production as well as a graduate of NYU Steinhardt with a Master's Degree in Music Technology. I have been teaching privately for over ten years, and performing for over 20!

I have begun teaching full time as of 2014, because I love teaching so much! I am driven by watching my students build confidence and learn to express themselves through music. My goal is for each student to become more expressive and build a love of music while also learning the theory behind it and performance techniques.

My first love is piano, as I began lessons at age 7. I wrote my first song at age 8 and started playing guitar the next year. I am an accomplished songwriter, arranger, producer, performer, teacher and director. I have directed all ages and group size
s in music as musical theatre director, musical director at church, band leader, and a children's music teacher. I love teaching and excel at finding unique ways to teach music and keep it interesting. I want you to have fun and learn what you find most interesting so we will work together to reach your goals.

Along with instrument and vocal lessons, I offer tutoring in all subjects of music and songwriting, and specialize in offering lessons tailored to each student’s needs. I refuse to hand out a book and go from front to back - expect handouts, impromptu lesson material to help you learn any specific concept you may be struggling with, CD’s with study material, exploratory homework, and thinking outside the box! We will do whatever it takes to get you wherever you want to be.

*** Lesson Details ***
I focus my curriculum on the goals of each student, their needs and their abilities. Everyone is different, so every student should have a different set of goals and a unique curriculum to reach them! I want to offer the most well-rounded education possible, so we will be regularly evaluating your goals and the materials you are using to reach them. I am easy-going and realistic - if you aren't interested in what you are learning then you aren't going to practice. So lets have some fun!

I work with every age group and integrate the following into all lessons: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Drums

• coordination
• rhythm - sometimes we will use our hands or bodies, or the drums or tambourine
• contemporary styles and songs - all my students get to choose their songs from my music library or their own!
• ear training - I help students to hear major and minor as well as the different notes of a chord. My singers work with solfege (do re mi) to gain early sight-reading skills
• singing together on simple songs - especially for young students to put them at ease and express themselves through music with something they already know (aka Twinkle Twinkle)
• scale work - I start my student young with the C scale and progress as each student can handle
• music theory - you won't even know you are learning it! My extensive training in this area allows me to find simple ways to teach these skills
• Performance technique: my voice students get to sing with a microphone and PA system to their favorite karaoke tunes and learn performance aspects. I also work with piano, guitar, and drums on performance skills.
• SONGWRITING: optional. I like to spend a class time every several sessions to help my creative students write their own song from start to finish! We can even record it if you like!

I work with several instruments in order to help my students get the most well-rounded music education they can until they choose a specific direction of their own (such as classical piano or acoustic guitar).

If you would like to focus only on one area, that is never a problem! I simply offer a variety of music lessons so that I can tailor the lesson to each student's goals. I will work with you to create a lesson plan.

Recitals are offered each Summer and Winter.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Studio: KORG weighted 88 key keyboard, acoustic and electric guitar and amp, PA system for performance in vocals, microphones. Parents may sit in on lessons or wait nearby. There is a library across the street, as well as a Dunkin Donuts.

For recording and production lessons, I use industry standards such as Logic Pro, Pro Tools, and Sonic. I give out weekly handouts and tailored homework assignments in most subjects. I can purchase books for students, or they can acquire the recommended books on their own.

*** Specialties ***
Young children music and piano 4 years and up; Piano; Voice - beginner and advanced; Musicality: can't decide what to study? I can work with you in a variety of areas including rhythm, percussion, songwriting, piano, guitar, singing, improvising, etc.

Performance is an art! As a performer for many years across the US and in various groups and ensembles, students can expect a wide range of experiences and ideas from which they can learn.

About Dane
Greetings!

I am a current WSU student of Vocal Music Education with my principle instrument as voice (Tenor). I'm 25 years old, and a well rounded musician with a great sense of humor and a laid back attitude. This isn't to say that my lessons are all fun and games; there is a serious element to every session, but students have always give positive feedback in that they feel very comfortable with me.

I have been singing for 15 years and do so professionally in two churches, one of which I am the section leader of (Fort Street Presbyterian in Detroit). I am also the section leader of the WSU Concert Chorale, the audition level choir. For both voice and guitar, I have studied under numerous great men and women who have guided my practices to the point where I have began to pass my knowledge to others!

My studio for both discipli
nes follow and logical and practical guideline that will allow musicianship in it's greatest form to bloom forth from the student. Heavy emphasis on solid technique, artistry, theory, and ear training makes for a well rounded and informed player/singer! I can teach from my home, your home, online, or even from the practice rooms at Wayne State if Detroit is a good middle ground or closer for you!

Thanks for taking the time to read this :)

It was my first time ever doing a private vocal lesson. I had an audition to prepare for, and went to the only person I would trust. He is so knowledgeable and made things super easy to understand. I felt not only relaxed, but he built up my confidence while teaching me the proper way to shape my vowels. He gave me some techniques for relaxing and breathing, too, which is super helpful for my anxiety. Wouldn't go to anyone else!

Do you want to take your performing skills to the next level? We will work on playing our best when performing for others. We can use the classroom locations at the Eastman School of Music for these lessons.

About Xin
I am a professional Horn player. I am currently a student at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester getting my Bachelor's of Music under Professor Peter Kurau.

Horn players can expect to have a unique sound, and I intend to let the student harness that rather than stick to whatever standard of sound is preferred in our community. From my experience, horn players tend to build tension in the jaw, and as a person with TMJ (Temporomandibular joint dysfunction), I know how to recognize these pains and how to release tension and prevent it!

I have been studying classical horn playing for 7 years and have had experiences in various orchestras such as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Ocala Symphony Orchestra. I am also a part of the National Orchestral Institute + Festival of the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018, a n
ationally-acclaimed summer festival. In addition, I studied the Natural Horn for 2 years, the predecessor to the modern French Horn. Despite having a classical background, I frequently have to play jazz when playing modern compositions and learned how to read lead sheets, so therefore I can bring a multi-faceted way of teaching every day.

I have experience teaching young kids in Baltimore through the OrchKids Summer Program. I was a Brass Intern and taught the horn players and at times the trumpet players. From this experience, I developed patience and an even stronger love for teaching to play the instrument to which I am dedicating my life. I hope that you will consider me in your pursuit of finding a horn teacher for yourself or for your child.

I had always wanted to see if I had any vocal talent whatsoever. I met with Zelda and she was patient and took me through the steps to check my range and abilities. I was very nervous as I had never sang in front of anyone before and she made me feel confident and comfortable as I stepped out of my comfort zone for the first time.

I loved getting lessons from Zelda! Her bright bubbly personality is so welcoming. She greeted me each lesson with a cup of herbal tea to sooth the vocal cords and we then worked on a series of great vocal techniques that have helped me maximise my singing potential.
This has subsequently led to me being a professional singer and touring extensively both nationally and internationally in a number of different singing styles and genres (including Jazz/Classical/Pop/Rock/Folk/Country).
Her safe methods build vocal control and stamina; as well as develop world class expressive and stylistic techniques. She manages all of this while also making lessons fun!

She is by far the best vocal instructor I've had, incredibly engaging and so very talented. I highly recommended her vocal training for any level singer.
