I've performed at arenas, clubs, and concert halls alike, such as Carnegie Hall, The Putra World Tower, Symphony Space, the Barclay's Center, Dizzy's Club Coco-Cola, and Rockefeller Center to name only a few venues. As a leader, I've been performing original music all over NYC at known creative and jazz venues like Seeds, Cornelia St. Café, The Bar Next Door, Jazz at the Kitano, Shapeshifter Lab and Smalls Jazz Club, which Down Beat magazine considers to be two of the best jazz clubs in the world.
Besides professing a passion and skill-set for music within the ‘jazz’ idiom, my interest in and usage of sound draws from and many other forms of art. I've composed and arranged music for lyricists, improvised music for poetry readings at the Firehouse Space, and have provided musical accompaniment for dance classes, workshops, and performances presented by the Martha Graham Dance Academy and the Jeoffrey Ballet School. I've even co-choreographed short plays and have played for Marc Jacobs fashion runway shows.
My music also extends into the health and wellness community. I've served as a regular performer at the New Life Expo, and as a musical aid for art exhibitions (including a Syrian-post war realist art exhibition), Yoga classes at Jivamukti Jersey City, and meditation classes for WeWork, St. Peter's Church at the Citicorp Center, The Tibet House, Triskelion Arts the Firehouse Space, the Jewish Community Center, the New York Insight Meditation Center, and the NYU Skirball Theater.
As an educator, I have taught all-level/all-age group music playing and appreciation courses for several New York-based organizations: The Afro-Latin Jazz Academy, The Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York, New York Ensemble Classes, the Lyceum Kennedy International School, Jubilee Enrichment Programs, Jazz Empowers and The New York Jazz Academy. I have also completed 6 semesters of service as a Graduate Part-Time Instructor at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where I taught multiple playing ensembles as well as three semesters of a 100+ student History of Jazz lecture class for non-majors.
I teach out of a my home apartment studio on the upper east side, complete with weighted 88-key digital piano, Bose high quality speakers, recording equipment, as well as musical media, and tablature spanning many musical genres, cultures and time periods. I also am equipped with a spacious floor space for Yoga, Pilates, Weight Lifting, Meditation, and more.
While I specialize in the following broad areas of musical study, my specialties are not limited to: General Music, Composition, Arranging, Ear Training, Music History (includes classical, jazz, and world musics), Music Theory, Sight Singing, and Songwriting. Fabrizio Sciacca was born on May 25, 1990 in Catania, Italy. His interest in music began at a young age, when his father would play him his favorite records. At 14 years old, Fabrizio started playing electric bass, studying with a local teacher in his hometown. After graduating high school, he began his law studies at Catania University only to realize within the year that his true passion was music. He promptly applied to Berklee College of Music in 2011 and was accepted with a scholarship. During his four years at Berklee, Fabrizio studied with renowned professors: John Patitucci, Danilo Perez, and Victor Bailey. While there, he performed with a variety of ensembles in many venues of Boston, such as Wally's (famous jazz club where many jazz icons like Charlie Parker performed). Upon completing his undergrad degree in Electric
and Double Bass Performance in 2015, Fabrizio moved to New York. He began studying with bass legend Ron Carter while earning a Master’s Degree in Performance and Composition from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in 2018. Since moving to New York, Fabrizio has collaborated and shared the stage with some of the best musicians on the scene including Harry Allen, Billy Drummond and Joe Magnarelli. He has also performed in many well-known jazz clubs in the City like Fat Cat, Mezzrow, Shapeshifter, and Minton's. In June 2019, Fabrizio was awarded the Welcome Back Tony Scott award, a prestigious recognition given to talented musicians by the city of Salemi, Italy, to honor the memory of the great clarinet player Tony Scott. During the same time, he performed with the Edo Ferragamo Project at the GruVillage Festival (Grugliasco, Italy) and Valmontone Summer Festival (Valmontone, Italy), opening for the Italian dates of Anastacia's summer tour. Currently, Fabrizio continues to learn from his mentor, Ron Carter. He has also released his debut record Gettin' It There with Billy Drummond on drums, Donald Vega on piano, and Jed Levy on saxophone. With all these accomplishments and tireless nature, Fabrizio Sciacca is determined to make himself a fixture of the international jazz community.

I enjoyed taking lessons with him. Very passionate about the bass and very in tune with the student's needs. Only reason I didn't give him 5 stars was because of his location, very difficult to get from Flushing to Harlem.

Lyle has a singing voice that will stun and amaze you when he sings in front of you. That will immediately put you at ease and motivate you to sing better using his techniques. His classical training has proven to be a great foundation for teaching me effective ways to understand, use and improve my voice. After 2 lessons I can already see a big difference in my singing abilities and I always learn many new things at each lesson. Lyle has a really open, friendly and non judgemental demeanor and this helped a lot with my nervousness. I can't wait for my next private lesson and would encourage anyone to book him for Broadway, classical and pop singing lessons.

Lyle taught my two kids for 3 years. They loved him! My son took piano and voice lessons each week, 30mins of the two, and my daughter took only piano lessons. I can't recommend him enough!
My goal as a teacher is to give you the facility to express yourself through music. The key parts to developing this facility are:
1. theory -- if you know your theory, you know the best way to express your idea without having to think about it 2. technique -- the last thing you want is for your technique to hinder your ability to express your idea. Having good technique lets your ideas flow naturally
When you take lessons with me, you get out of it what you put in. Your job as student is to be honest with what you expect to achieve and my job as teacher is to give you the tools to achieve it
I am a bass player first, not a guitarist who also teaches bass. Students will learn technique, theory and groove from a teacher who understands that as bass players, we are in a unique position. Since bass is both a harmony and rhythm instrument we have the opportunity to develop into leaders in a way other instrumentalists don't. I will encourage students interested in exploring this aspect of their instrument
I have a degree in jazz performance from The Ohio State University and have played in numerous rock, jazz and off-broadway bands over the last 20 years. Now playing is something I do primarily for fun and my #1 goal is always that my students have as much fun playing as I do

As a beginning, self-taught bass player of four months, I wanted to find a teacher who could analyze and critique my playing. I scheduled five lessons with David over a time period of three months. David was instrumental in analyzing and critiquing bad techniques and habits I acquired. He very thoroughly emphasized proper fretting technique and finger positioning; exercises were given that helped me obtain full tonal quality and efficient fretboard navigation skills. We also reviewed basic theory, scale modes, rhythmic weight, pentatonics and arpeggios; seminal knowledge for the beginner.
A technical type player, David has excellent playing skills as well as a comprehensive knowledge of theory and its practical application. He is a good listener and showed a genuine interest in helping me achieve my goals. I definitely can see an improvement in my playing skills....playing more confidently and efficiently.

I studied Music Theory since I was in High school. To some it does take a while to grasp. There is classical theory and there is also modern/contemporary theory which differ. There are music charts and scores. There is reading and writing music. There is harmony. We will learn and practice these things and get you on your way to becoming a pro.

I'm a performer in jazz music. Coming from a musicians family I started to play the trombone at the age of 9. I have my bachelor in classical trombone in ESMuC (Spain). Studied classical with Daniel Perpiñán, Brand Attema between others. I performed with many orchestras but I had focus more in the ensemble music.
Just finished my second bachelor in Jazz trombone at the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam with Ilja Reijngoud and Bart Van Lier.
Currently I'm studying my Master of Music at the Juilliard School (New York).
I have been teaching in Music Schools to kids from 6 years-old to adults. Since I moved to New York I would like to keep teaching because I also learn from my students!
