Music theory distills and analyzes the fundamental parameters or elements of music, €”rhythm, harmony (harmonic function), melody, structure, form, and texture. It helps better understand what is played and how certain functions affect the certain musical compositions.

Peter has not only honed my daughter's previous skills, but introduced techniques and music theory that was completely new to her. Peter has sought out music that will challenge and interest my daughter specifically. We've been very pleased.

Peter is an extremely patient and knowledgeable teacher; it has been a privilege studying the piano and cello with him for the past 2 months. In that brief time, I have completed 16 of the 17 pieces in the first Suzuki book for cello! I have also enjoyed the piano exercises and repertoire he has assigned, which are technical but melodious. He has a great understanding of theory and technique; he is very personable and encouraging; and he was flexible and accommodating about the times and modes (in person and online) for my lessons. I recommend him wholeheartedly to other adult beginners like me and am grateful to be under his tutelage.

Roseann has a very pleasant personality and makes learning the guitar enjoyable and exciting for my six year old daughter. She gives clear and concise instructions that my daughter can understand and follow on her own while practicing at home. I would highly recommend Roesann to anyone interested in learning the guitar.

Perry takes the time to explain flamenco and related styles deeply and thoroughly. He also provides detailed micro-scale feedback on hand/arm placement, orientation, range and which muscle groups to engage. But more than the technical, he has an awesome vibe and makes learning guitar quite an enjoyable experience.

"Albino is an amazing teacher and musician. He has the ability to inspire you musically and make you feel very comfortable while doing it. He has taught me many new approaches, tips, and tricks to music theory. He has helped me to be able to really understand why things are the way they are, and not just figure things out on paper like an equation. Definitely the best tutor I've ever had! I'd highly recommend him."

"I had started taking gigs with new bands but I was struggling with my sight reading and general music theory. I found Kellen through a friend and I'm so glad. He was friendly and super knowledgeable and I felt like it all clicked all of a sudden. I was able to learn easily online from my home in Portland. I keep taking lessons with him because I keep learning great tips about performance and theory. He's also really funny. Kellen's awesome!"

"I started taking guitar lessons for the first time 10 months ago and am thankful I found such a great teacher in Ahmad. His positive attitude and love of music helps me stay engaged and lessons are productive and fun.

One of the great things about Ahmad is he listens to you and adjusts lesson content based on the feedback you provide. His ability to listen allows Ahmad to deliver a personalized lesson plan that incorporates your goals and gets you excited about what you are working on.

Ahmad also has taught me techniques to prevent and address minor aches that come up while learning to play. He takes this seriously and shows you how to prevent and resolve any issues that come up.

Overall, taking lessons from Ahmad has been a very positive experience. I look forward to continuing working with him to get better."
