I have taught music theory for 4 years to over 50 students. I can teach you music theory fundamentals (key signatures, scales, major/minor chords, chord analysis), as well as some of the most advanced topics in undergraduate and graduate musical studies (form, part-writing, counterpoint, advanced harmonic analysis, Schenkerian analysis).

My biggest priority in teaching is to help you reach your specific goals and address your needs. Every student has their own objectives and learns at their own pace, and my job is to ensure that you get exactly what you want out of the lessons. Antonella is an AMAZING teacher. I am an older adult student, with no music theory or background. She is very patient, accommodating, and uses very useful analogies that help me visualize what to do in a way that helps me learn and remember. I studied Music Theory since I was in High school. To some it does take a while to grasp. There is classical theory and there is also modern/contemporary theory which differ. Leah is a stellar instructor. I was simply expecting some tips on vocal technique, and she exceeded my expectations. She is able to meet you at your level, understand the craft as you understand it and then tell you need next to improve.

Moreover, she’s incredibly humble. Despite clearly being skilled at singing, she never makes it a point to come off as unapproachable. Our 8 year old son had his first Guitar lesson with Dee this past weekend, and she was amazing. She wasted no time getting down to brass tacks with our son, showing him the various parts of the guitar, how to hold it and within minutes he knew two chords. She was able to keep our kiddo engaged, offered great praise and positive feedback/reinforcement and kept him on task for the entire 45 minute lesson. We could not be happier and cannot wait to see what he learns during his next lessons with her!
