Welcome I am Cersilla Wolf and i love playing and teaching the violin. I got my start with this wonderful instrument fall of 2018. I am a self taught violinist. In spring I started classes at metropolitan state university of Denver where I was second violinist in their symphony orchestra. Currently I'm working on my first album as a solo violinist.

About Cersilla

As a teacher I try to make lessons as fun as possible. I understand kids have a short attention span so I create fun games we can play as I teach them core skills to be a successful violinist. Making lessons fun also encourages the student to practice on their own time. My students not only learn h

Private Violin Teacher

I am an advanced level player with 15 years of private lesson teaching. I am encouraging and positive with my students, but I also emphasize good listening and practicing strategies. I have a BA in Music Education, Instrumental Orchestra and Band. I also play the flute and piano. I follow a repertoire recommended by the American String Teachers' Association. I am planning a small recital in May for my students, and a focus would be on technique and toward a performance solo piece with accompaniment. This is a great way to showcase your talent! We can also work on orchestral parts if needed.

About Natalie

Hey there music students! My current students and I are having our Spring Recital on Monday, June 3. My students are super excited and super ready! Wouldn't you love to be a part of this! Sign up for lessons on any instrument that I teach and join us for fun! We'd love to have you be a part

I like to be super-customized with my lessons! If there's a pop song your student wants to learn, GREAT! If they're getting ready for an upcoming orchestra piece and are struggling with their part, let's work on that! I am super flexible, and just like my students to ENJOY their time working on music with me!

Anna is an extremely knowledgeable and skilled musician, which inspires her students to want to excel themselves! My 7year old son has been taking lessons from Anna for about 2 years. He is excited to go to his lesson each week! Although my son struggles with some dyslexia, Anna is extremely patient with him and makes him feel like he is valuable and capable. She has adjusted the method and curriculum to find something that works well for him. She carefully explains the lessons, makes my son feel so special, and inspires him to want to learn.

"Martina is very skilled at what she does, and she is an amazing teacher. She pointed out all of my strengths and weaknesses at the first lesson, and she always teaches at my pace and not her own, giving me the opportunity to completely learn something before moving on to more difficult things. She is overall a very friendly person who you will feel incredibly comfortable to be around, and she always does the best job that she can to teach me every single lesson. I look forward to our lessons every week, and I am simply amazed by how much I am progressing under her guidance."

"It was my first lesson and now I have some idea how hold the violin and the bow. My homework is to practice a few notes on each string and then to practice playing the A scale. I think I can do it in two octaves. What is challenging is to play the scale without hearing a screeching sound. I'm looking forward to playing like Sarah Chang (hopefully after five lessons)."

"Grace is excellent! I feel extremely lucky to have her as my violin teacher. I was playing better after just one lesson with her.

Before I found her, I had been turned down by several other teachers on this site because I wanted to learn how to play the violin without having to learn to read music. When I saw Grace's video, I thought surely she would turn me down too, because she's an even better player than the teachers who had said no. I was very surprised and excited when she agreed to teach me. She saw no problem with giving me lessons without reading, which means that not only is she a better musician than the others, but obviously she's a better and more versatile instructor, too.

Like I said, I feel very fortunate. And, as good as she is, I would have expected to pay a lot more for her. I actually WOULD pay more. She'd be worth it! I've looked at dozens of other teachers on this site .. Trust me, she's the best.

Violin Tips: Developing Your Bow Hand

Before you can get to the double-stops and harmonics, you'll need to learn how to develop your bow hand. Without this foundation, other techniques may be compromised. Read on for a tutorial and bowing exercise from Portland, OR violin teacher Greg A... It can be mesmerizing to watch the fingers of a fiddler run up and down and across the strings, fast as lightning. But the motor that’s doing the bulk of the work and producing the beautiful tone is actually in the bow hand.  Before picking …
