I believe that learning to play music is not just to attain mastery or even to become a professional in the craft. Instead, playing music can be a journey in learning to express emotion, experience beauty, and cultivate virtue, diligence and character. And these things, once cultivated, can’t help but take root and grow – dancing in and out of the notes they play and spilling into all areas of their lives.

I believe that teaching is not just about instruction, but about mentorship. Not just transferring information, but building relationship. Together as parent and teacher we will partner to instill passion and joy for learning within your child.

About Joy

When I was a little girl… Music was the language of my home. I learned to sing before I could speak and understood sound and rhythm through the clanking keys of the piano. Violin quickly made its entrance and carried me through college, launching me into a career in music & education. I kep

I love playing and teaching the violin, and I'm so excited to share my experience with you! I have over a decade of experience with students of all backgrounds and experience levels. My time at The Juilliard School has prepared me well for whatever challenge you would like to take on together. Whether that is growing your love of the instrument, learning a new piece, finding better practice skills, or audition preparation.

Congratulations on taking an amazing first step into learning the violin, and I look forward to meeting you in our first lesson.

I feel what makes taking lessons with me unique is my experience teaching private violin and viola lessons in Texas public schools (grades 6-12) and my career as a professional musician having performed in many orchestral, opera, and chamber music settings. Through the lens of that performed experience, I know how crucial an education that includes classical music can be in a student’s overall academic development and maturation. Though not everyone pursues music as a career, no matter the student’s age, I wish to ultimately be a positive support system in fostering their development in their mirrored desirability to make classical music and incorporate it's richness and beauty into their life.

About Michael

Howdy! Thank you for taking the time to check out my page! I am a musician based in Dallas, TX, and I mainly perform in orchestras across the North Texas and Louisiana area as an orchestral violist, having played professionally for 10 years. I have also traveled abroad and performed in concer

Michael is an amazing teacher. He has deep understanding of fundamentals and subtleties involved in playing violin. It helped me understand and improve my shortcomings all the way from developing correct muscle memory, bowing techniques and producing the right sound. He has been a very patient teacher and inspires you to keep at it. Michael is very detail oriented - this helps to discover subtle flaws in your playing, which are easy to miss. It has been a great learning experience, and am looking forward to more classes.

I have been teaching private piano, violin, guitar, and ukulele lessons for ten years. I won competitions, hundreds of dollars, and a scholarship through the Desert Valley Music Teacher Association (DVMTA). I have written and self-published two piano books with more in the works. I have worked on a Music Theory degree at MCC and plan to transfer to ASU to finish my bachelor's. I help students find the fun in music again with many involved music games and incentive programs. I instill a love and confidence in students of composing their own music from a young age.

About Courtney

I've been teaching piano and violin for over ten years now and now guitar and ukulele for six. I play the organ in church every week and have helped many people spread their love with music. Having just recently graduated college with a BA in Music and Mathematics, I have first hand experience with the transition from in-person to online violin lessons and Orchestra rehearsals (as well as other classes). I know the stress it can bring with so much being unknown, and I can provide ways to cope with that stress. I have been playing my violin privately and in orchestras for the past 12 years, watching over my instructors and learning how to teach students of my own. I strive to be a teacher that my students feel they can approach with any problems or worries they have about playing their violin at home or in school. If you think I am a good fit, I look forward to chatting with you!

"I am writing this recommendation at the request of my daughter’s wonderful violin teacher, Ms. Pabst. Jacqueline is quite talented but it is her personality and character that sets her apart. My daughter is only six years old so Jacqueline’s patience and understanding goes a long way and they have developed a very sweet relationship. We hope we can continue taking lessons with Ms. Pabst for a long time. - Alan Farmer"

"My first lesson with Irina was amazing! I loved her energy, and she was so friendly and encouraging. I’m an adult beginner and have never played a violin before. Irina started by tuning my violin, preparing my bow with rosin and teaching me the various parts of the violin and bow. When she began to show me how to properly hold the bow and violin and moved my arms and hands in the right positions, I felt so thankful that I’d made the choice of in-person lessons. I’m confident that I’ll learn the proper technique from Irina and happy about the hands-on correction I’ll receive. Irina has so much experience and plays beautifully. I’m so excited about our lessons and eager to continue learning from her."

"A great educator and learning enviroment

All two of daughters take violin lessons from Kelvin. He's been a wonderful addition to the community. He has a great level of patience and natural way of connecting with young children.
The girls also enjoy the community aspect of Kevin's program as well as the opportunity to perform the pieces of music that they work so hard on mastering.
They both made into Chicago youth symphony last year."

"Josh is an excellent teacher who focuses on developing ALL of a musician's skills. This is not simply a rote progression through the Suzuki books, but he includes ear training, improvisation, sight reading, as well as making sure the lessons particular pieces are supposed to teach are actually being taught. He does all of this in a relaxed manner designed to set the student at ease. He is also available to talk outside the studio if you have questions about anything, including how to change your strings. The only reason I am not taking lessons with Josh anymore is I am leaving the state for work. I can't recommend him highly enough."

She is able to adjust her approach to accommodate all age groups and skill levels. It's important to let Elisa know what your goals are so she can mold the lessons to help accomplish your goals. Elisa also arranges group rehearsals and recitals to broaden the students abilities in group settings (optional)."
