Marc is extremely patient and passionate about his teaching. Not only does he emphasize the basic techniques for a beginner like me to master, but also make it fun for me. He also tries to motivate me with music theory and history which definitely help me understand the music better and inspire me to master the basics. Marc has an amazingly amount of knowledge in everything else as well, such as physics etc. that shows up in his teaching from time to time, which makes the learning experience much richer!

Marc is an incredibly friendly drum coach who also knows when to push his students to their limits. He has the rare ability to inspire his students so that they perform to the best of their abilities. If you don't sign up with Marc for your next drum lesson, I would suggest re-evaluating your decisions.

Marc is a great teacher. Classes are always very friendly and productive. In my case, each class begins with a review of progress/practice, and ends with a meaningful and personalized homework. He is also very flexible, sometimes I had to move my classes around and he's always super responsive and understanding. I knew nothing about drums, and I am happy I decided to begin my journey to learn how to play them, with Marc as a mentor!

Being an active and experienced musician gives me the necessary knowledge to know what is needed on order to become a better musician. Also having over 20 years of teaching experience allows me to tailor my knowledge to the need of every particular student. Bassist and composer Andrea performs extensively within the improvised music scene, across a broad spectrum of genres. His instrumental tone, sensitivity and imagination, and melodic approach to a supposedly clumsy instrument brought him to perform and record with many established musicians. Based

Online Music Theory Teacher

Music Theory is the study of the systems in music, typically examining the structure and patterns underneath all music, regardless of genre. These lessons include an assessment of the student's musical theory knowledge, including writing scales/chords/intervals, rhythmic study, writing figured bass, various music terminology, etc. These lessons are most valuable for the seasoned musicians (especially those that perform regularly), and those who are looking to go to the next level in their musicianship (i.e. starting university studies, wanting to explore a new musical genre, wanting to compose music, etc.), however a basic understanding of music theory is a necessity even from the very beginning of one's studies in any musical instrument. Music theory is such valuable knowledge to have and can greatly expand a musician’s horizons and confidence. I enjoy helping my students connect the dots and understand the system that governs music! I incorporate a variety of books and other ...

She is wonderful. My daughter has really enjoyed her voice lessons with Beth.

Finding Beth has been the highlight of our time during Covid-19. We were preparing to start in person piano lessons when Covid-19 started and quarantine stopped that plan. After searching the web high and low I stumbled across TakeLessons and particularly found Beth. She has been teaching my daughter voice and piano lessons for 6 weeks now and I cannot speak highly enough of her!! My daughter has not only learned so much from her about piano technique as well as how to use her voice as a beautiful instrument, but Beth is also such a positive light and gives my daughter tons of self confidence. Her positive attitude and upbeat teaching style are electric. I would recommend Beth to anyone, old or young, beginner or experienced. Her teaching methods work so well even through FaceTime and many states away. My daughter has gone from beginner to reading music and playing the piano beautifully with grace and self confidence!! Thank you Beth!!!

I take music theory lessons with Loretta. I have taken music theory before with 3 other teachers . None of them make it as simple as she does. She explains it in a way that I can understand. I love her and will recommend her to anyone that wants to learn music in general. She is amazing. Can't wait to learn more from this brilliant, professional, musician!"

"It has been a few years since our daughter, Michaela, took piano and music theory classes from Howard Richman. However, hardly a day goes by when she is not using something that she has learned from him. Whether she is writing a song, composing music, producing a track, playing the piano, singing, rehearsing, performing, etc…it always involves some aspect of her lessons with Howard. She is always referencing material from her classes with him. The enjoyment and confidence that Howard instills in his students, through his methods of teaching, truly must last a lifetime. Going to Howard was one of the best decisions that we have made regarding Michaela's career. In fact, as it turns out, it was a life changing experience for her. Needless to say, we have the very highest recommendation for Howard Richman."

"My middle-school aged son did a two hour session with Dr. Darrell one day where I would venture to say they covered a month's worth of music theory material. After a while I got tired listening to it, but my son didn't. Darrell is patient yet firm, tough but caring. The pairing of Darrell's deep knowledge with a student who wants to learn is a powerful combination. He is committed to the success of his students."
