About Paul
Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. He works with piano, composition and vocal performance students of all levels and styles, which include classical, jazz, blues, Tango, and Broadway. In 2006, he received a Bachelor Degree of Music from Stony Brook University.
As a Pianist, In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
 His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students learn from popular music beginning with basic chords and strumming and simple melodies. After 3 months with correct practice the student should be able to strum a number of songs and change chords smoothly. After 3 months bar chords and more complex melodies are introduced, and beyond 6 months, one can expect to progress into music theory and improvisation.

Kyle is a great teacher and takes the time to understand where you’re starting from and where you want to go. He is very patient and his studio has a relaxed atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Kyle is a great listener and there’s no pressure regardless of your skill level. No one could be more of a beginner than me and I feel like I’ve come a long way in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend him for both beginners and the more experienced alike.

Through the years I have taken several guitar courses from several instructors. In April of this year, I retained Michael to instruct my 13 year old daughter, Jennifer, in guitar lessons. I was quite impressed with Mr. Michael right from the beginning.

Since I knew nothing about guitars, I had no idea what type of guitar to purchase for Jennifer. Mr. Christian offered on his own time to go with us to help in the purchase of the guitar. He kept in mind what we could afford and the quality of the guitars, it was very reassuring to know that he was looking out for our welfare and to be able trust him.

I am very impressed with the progress Jennifer has made in playing the guitar. She looked forward to her lessons with Mike. She looked forward to her lessons with Mike. He made the lessons interesting and "fun". Mike not only taught her to play the guitar but also how to read music and understand it.

Mike is a very kind, moral, talented young man and I recommend him highly. We are sorry to see him leave, however, our loss is your gain.

I teach all levels of music theory whether it focuses only on scales and chord structures or advanced harmonies and chord progressions. We can study any combination of sight-singing and ear training, aural theory skills, and written theory. We can also include composition if desired. This can be very fun. You don't have to be Beethoven!

My education in music is extensive. I was principal cellist at the Interlochen Arts Academy orchestra in Interlochen, Michigan. I have a Doctorate from Indiana University in Music Composition and Music Theory. I also studied piano and cello at Indiana University. I have a Masters degree in music from Butler University in Indianapolis. My major was composition but I also studied piano.

I found Rachelle to be very knowledgeable and was able to gage my voice almost immediately. She explains techniques in a very understandable way and makes it quite easy to understand. I will definitely be continuing my lessons with Rachelle and I highly recommend her.

Leslie is a Denver based musician—clarinetist and teacher—who performs in solo and collaborative projects across the state while maintaining an active teaching studio. Leslie is in high demand as both a performer and teacher. Recent performances include solo performances is Denver and Stapleton, several chamber performances with her wind trio Enigma and the Lamont Clarinet Choir, and appearances with the Lone Tree Symphony, the San Juan Symphony, Lakewood Symphony, the Denver Pops Orchestra, the Littleton Symphony, the Lamont Symphony Orchestra, and extensive time playing Eb clarinet with the Lamont Wind Ensemble.

After she began playing clarinet with her hands switched, and consequently as the worst clarinetist in her band, Leslie began studying privately and soon discovered a passion for teaching and helping her own students improve
the way her teachers helped her. Leslie is a passionate educator who has spent time on faculty at Mt. Holyoke College and the Eaglebrook School. She currently maintains a private studio in Denver and is an active guest clinician across Colorado.

Leslie studied clarinet at Adams State, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and recently completed a Performance Certificate at the University of Denver.
