I accept only flutists for Music Performance lessons. There is a special art to performing well and making a connection with your audience. I can instruct you on how to bring your performance to the next level. We will talk about your playing, your movement, and even some speaking so that you feel confident and prepared when you step foot on that stage! This is great for overcoming stage fright, anxiety, and tension if you have an audition, recital, or other performance coming up.
I'm a flutist and flute instructor in the North Atlanta area. My home studio is in Acworth (near Woodstock), Georgia where I teach flute lessons. I play principal flute in the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra and currently serve on the Board of Directors as President.
Lessons: My teaching philosophy is grounded in the idea that you don't have to be perfect, you just have to try. Each one of us has something unique hidden inside waiting to be expressed through music and my job is to draw that out and give you the confidence to share it with the world. With each student I hope to ignite a spark of passion and curiosity for music to carry with you throughout your lifetime.
I have been teaching since 2005 to students of all ages and levels. I currently have students all across the US and have taught online as far away as Hawaii and
Italy. Whether your goal is to start a new instrument, gain confidence in your playing, improve your current skills, make first chair in band, perfect a solo, make All-State, win a competition, or audition for college, I will guide you and help you reach your goals.

Ms. Kelly is the best teacher ever! She is so kind, fun, and understanding. I am a busy sophomore in high school with a lot to do, but she always has something fun for me to learn/ play. I like to play more for enjoyment (although she did help me make it to my high school's Symphonic Band) , and I like that Ms. Kelly asks me to my best, but doesn't put pressure on me on things I don't want to do. I'm so happy to have such a nice and talented teacher. She is also super-responsible with sending me lesson notes, as well as keeping up with my schedule. Also, she has a very nice personal relationship to me as a person, not just as a student.

Get to know me a little better by watching my intro video below, or click on the "Ask Michelle A Question" button right next to my picture! **Right now, I'm only taking new students to start September**
Hi! My name is Michelle. I’m a professional guitar and banjo player, and music teacher! I teach all levels of classical guitar, acoustic guitar, bluegrass and folk guitar. I also specialize in all levels of clawhammer banjo, but also offer 3-finger Scruggs-style bluegrass banjo lessons. I also teach all styles and levels of ukulele from basic strumming patterns to fingerpicking chord melodies.
I cater my lessons to each individual student. I love teaching all levels, so don’t worry if you’ve never picked up an instrument in your life…there’s no such thing as a hopeless case!! I work on building a strong foundation of form a
nd technique in all of my students regardless of level, whether you’re just starting out or are a more experienced player with some bad habits to break or looking to add to your musical toolbox!
My formal training is classical, I have a Bachelor’s degree from Oberlin Conservatory and a Master’s degree from Eastman School of Music, both in classical guitar performance. That being said, I’m a little different than most classically trained teachers, in that I have traveled outside of the classical world to the folk traditions of old-time and bluegrass music, and I am very passionate about this music. I also tour regularly with a folk/Americana trio called Harpeth Rising, which combines both classical and folk traditions into original music (but don't worry, it won't interfere much with teaching!)
My teaching style reflects my combination of influences. My style is fluid, and I work with each student’s individual strengths and weaknesses create a learning environment that is comfortable, relaxed, and ultimately very effective. I also expect my students to schedule regular practicing into their daily routines, which is something I also help my students with.
Thanks for visiting my page!
**Availability notice: As I am a touring musician, my availability is flexible. For online lessons, I may need to reschedule times while I'm on tour. For in person lessons, we may need to reschedule missed lesson while I'm on tour. This will happen infrequently, but I thought I'd give fair warning!
*** Travel Equipment *** I provide my own instrument, and I expect my students to have an instrument of their own. If you need help purchasing an instrument I have 8 years of experience and knowledge of fretted stringed instruments, so I am happy to help advise you once you purchase lessons!
How to present yourself to an audience, and what are the best practices to follow to be performing at your best, in various situations.
Percussionist and composer Marc W. was born in Switzerland, where he studied classical percussion at the Geneva Conservatory. He has lived in the United States since the 1980's, where he studied composition and mallet technique on the vibraphone at the Berklee School in Boston, then moved to New York City to further his jazz performance and percussion skills. Since that time, Marc has toured the U.S., Europe, Japan and Brazil, and can be heard on over 20 recordings, including 4 solo albums. Marc's interest in electronics led him to push the boundaries of live performance with the "electronic vibraphone", where he is recognized as a pioneer on this instrument. Beside a performer and a composer, Marc teaches workshops here and in Europe, and is very involved in making computers accessible to visually impaired musicians. Marc has just p
ublished an iBook, titled "Drum Talk - An Introduction to Percussion Ensemble", available now on iTunes. Marc is extremely patient and passionate about his teaching. Not only does he emphasize the basic techniques for a beginner like me to master, but also make it fun for me. He also tries to motivate me with music theory and history which definitely help me understand the music better and inspire me to master the basics. Marc has an amazingly amount of knowledge in everything else as well, such as physics etc. that shows up in his teaching from time to time, which makes the learning experience much richer!

Marc is an incredibly friendly drum coach who also knows when to push his students to their limits. He has the rare ability to inspire his students so that they perform to the best of their abilities. If you don't sign up with Marc for your next drum lesson, I would suggest re-evaluating your decisions.

Marc is a great teacher. Classes are always very friendly and productive. In my case, each class begins with a review of progress/practice, and ends with a meaningful and personalized homework. He is also very flexible, sometimes I had to move my classes around and he's always super responsive and understanding. I knew nothing about drums, and I am happy I decided to begin my journey to learn how to play them, with Marc as a mentor!

About Matthew J
I currently work as a freelance music producer as well as a guitar/bass teacher and as a music software teacher. I have been playing guitar for 18 years and teaching guitar and bass for 9 years. I have worked as a private and group guitar instructor at several music education establishments in the Chicago, Los Angeles and in Eugene, Oregon as well. I have also worked as a band coach for youth groups, where I taught them cover songs, helped them write their own songs and prepared them for live performances. I studied at Columbia College Chicago majoring in Classical Guitar, Latin Music and Music Theory. I started taking private guitar lessons as a teenager for several years and played in my high school jazz band along with original rock bands. While in high school, I was able to study with popular Chicago rock virtuoso guitarist Kev
in M. Buck, where I first learned music theory and was inspired to be more studious with the guitar.
I have performed in rock/modern bands for 12 years as an electric guitarist and also for 4 years as a solo acoustic guitarist mixing Bossa Nova, Classical Guitar and original compositions into my performance repertoire.
*** Lesson Details *** For Music Software Lessons - Logic Pro X , Ableton Live, Garageband, Pro Tools and Reason-

For instrument lessons- I'm a patient teacher that's passionate about guitar and helping students reach their musical goals whether they are casual players or serious musicians. For beginners, I use Hal Leonard instructional guitar books along with paper handouts and sheet music. I believe it's important for everyone to learn the fundamentals of music to create a strong base of skills in order to continue playing and learning music throughout one's life. For more experienced players, I like to teach various modern rock/pop songs, classical guitar songs, picking patterns, finger picking patters, improvisation, scales and music theory. I teach nylon string acoustic, steel string acoustic guitar and electric guitar and bass I believe the most basic goal for a guitar student is to be able to play a song in it's entirety, whether it's by themselves or with other musicians/music students. I believe that some of the most important music skills are learned while actually playing with other musicians. It is crucial when learning an instrument to be able to play in 'real time'; playing music with a steady sense of rhythm.
*** Specialties *** I teach Classical Guitar, Brazilian Jazz, bass guitar, rock, pop, blues, funk and folk guitar using method books, sheet music and guitar tablature.
Absolute joy to be taught by Matt, knowledgeable, encouraging and enthusiastic. (Timely as well if that's important to you!), i learnt an awful lot from Matt and felt fortunate to have chosen him as my teacher.

Matthew has been a wonderful instructor. I feel that i have learned a lot and also enjoyed the process. He has also been very accomodating about special teaching requests that have helped me develop my skills in genres I enjoy.
Learning how to play an instrument is one thing but learning how to perform with that instrument is a whole different world and I teach students how to make their instruments and themselves, live on stage so they really shine like the star they can really be

I am a firm believer that there isn't a single singing method out there that really works for everyone. But rather it is about observation of yourself without judgement and TRULY understanding how vocal production works in your body in relation to your breath, your mind, and your soul. I am not here to dictate how you should sing in a certain way. I am here to help you and guide you in understanding your body in relation to sound production and to cultivate your own method of vocal technique in your own words and in your own logic that actually works for you.

d concert producer, I truthfully understand that each singer comes from different musical backgrounds, styles, genres, strengths, insecurities, levels and purposes for doing what we all do. I am a firm believer that there isn't a single vocal method out there that really works for everyone. But rather it is about observation of yourself without judgement and TRULY understanding how vocal production works in your body in relation to your breath, your mind, and your soul. Through years of training and education, I've witnessed a lot of vocal instructions where “it’s either my way or nothing else would work”. I am not here to dictate how you should sing in a certain way.I am here to help you and guide you in understanding your body in relation to sound production and to cultivate your own method of vocal technique in your own words and in your own logic that actually works for you.
This was my first experience with voice lessons, and Cris the best teacher I could have hoped for! He has introduced me to all sorts of music techniques that I’m sure I will need when I leave to study music in college, and he helped me to prepare any vocal requirements I might have to fill. He is always patient, knowledgeable, and easy to get along with; and he has inspired me to continue studying opera in the future. I would highly recommend him for any level of vocalist! :)
Are you afraid to sing in front of people? Do you have a song you want to sing, but just can't hit that one note? Are you sure you sound good, but stiff when on stage? I can help you with that! I have been performing for 37 years, and know great tips to conquer nerves and deliver your best performance. I also know many ways to get comfortable as a performer and get out what's in your heart and soul.
I am a lifelong lover of music and education. I will use my 41years of performance experience to show students how to play guitar, bass, or sing, but more importantly, how to enjoy those things!
I believe music is, first and foremost a source of joy, and my lessons are designed to bring that about. Whether you desire to be a full-time rock star, or just a hobbyist, playing in your church praise band, I can show you how to do it, and have a great time doing it!

Mark teaches from different perspectives, excellent first lesson and I'm looking forward to being his student for future lessons!
May 29, 2016
Unfortunately, yesterday was my last lesson with Mark, as I am moving to Guam. I would definitely not be giving up my weekly lesson with him if that weren't the case! I've learned so much in the short couple months taking lessons from him. I would recommend him to anyone of any skill level. Very helpful and kind. :)
"Stephanie isn't just a great player. Her compassion and open personality make her a great teacher as well. I would recommend Stephanie to anyone."
"I studied under Jordan when he was a TA at SDSU. He was laid back, easy to get along with, and always helpful when I had questions for him. Since then,
I've had the pleasure of performing in SDSU ensembles with Jordan. I mean it when I say it: Jordan is not only one of the best music teachers in San Diego, but he is also one of the best trombone players I've ever had the pleasure of knowing."
"I have wanted to work with Jan since I saw her as a judge at the LAMN JAM Music Contests, her feedback to the artists was always spot on and I wanted to h
ear what she might have to say about my work and her suggestions. I have been lucky enough to have taken lessons and workshops with Jan for a couple months now and it has definitely had a big impact on my confidence as well as making me aware of what I need to work on. It is great to put yourself in a situation where a professional will be honest with you and help give you the tools to better your performance, this is exactly what I get out of working with Jan. You can sing out as much as you want, but listeners, friends and family usually just tell you how great you are and its hard to grow that way. Jan is kind but straightforward on what you need to do to better yourself as a performer. I highly recommend studying with Jan!"
Stephen is a great teacher, actor, and singer, in addition to being a wonderful guy. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in any of
his varied services."
"I really enjoyed my singing session with Robert. I had so much fun during my session, and felt confident for my audition. He is definitely a teacher who k
nows what he is doing and will make sure you learn while having fun. This definitely will not be my last session."
"Paul is a wonderful person and very competent. He does a great job and gives his best effort. I recommend him."
"Once I trusth on my voice, performing was not a problem anymore
I recovered confidance after surgery of my vocal cords"
"Rebekah wasnt just a voice teacher. She was more than that. She not only helped my voice go somewhere i have never imagined it would, but she inspires. Sh
e was the building block for me to believe in myself and dare to do greater things. I still have a solid B in head voice, and ill be seeing you soon Rebekah😉"
