About Thomas
From the time I began musical training at the age of 5, I knew that music making would always be an important part of my life. It became my muse and I followed it all around the world. I have performed in Japan, England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France, Austria, and the United States. I know what makes a good musician and a good performer and I'm pleased to be able to share that with my students! MY STUDENTS WIN AUDITIONS! I taught in several of the States and in London. I am also a certified teacher in Missouri, Kansas and other States including England, Scotland and Wales. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate from Ball State University, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Bridgeport. I have studied on fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival and University of London. While teaching in London I performed at many famous venues s
uch as Queen Elizabeth Hall, St. John’s Smith Square and Somerset House. I sing at Lyric Opera of Kansas City where I have appeared in over 90 productions. Upcoming: Mozart: Magic Flute, November 9-17, 2013 and Puccini: La Bohème, March 15-23, 2014   I also sing professionally at Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Kansas City. I am a laid back teacher with a great sense of humor. You will also learn a lot of music theory and music history from me! My lessons begin with some training in reading music (Music Theory) and I suggest that you purchase Alfred's Music Theory Volume One or Two depending on your level of understanding.

After refreshing your music reading and rhythm skills, we will listen to you sing and begin to vocalize. I will develop exercises just for you, to help you develop your voice, making it stronger and more flexible.

When you have warmed up your voice with vocal exercises, we will work together on the music you wish to learn. It could be a song, an aria, a Broadway or Opera aria, or a religious piece.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Large 30 foot living room with two pianos, music stands, keyboard, couches, seating area.
Mac computer, multiple cameras and great sound system.

*** Specialties ***

He may be good if you want to sing opera. I just didn't connect with him and his 'Style' of teaching. I was looking for more current music and that was where a very large disconnect was.

Right off the bat I could tell that my daughter will flourish with Dr. G. He is very encouraging while simultaneously effective at improving a weak nuance of her current skill set without making it feel like a negative critique. She is very excited to see what he can help her accomplish.

There is a theoretical component to ALL the lessons, masterclasses, and seminars I do. Music "Theory" isn't really "theory..." It's REALITY. It's the language we use to talk about our art, it's the ideas and concepts that make music work. Composition is part of this, and you'll know your stuff if you study with me. No brag, just fact ;-).

About Victor
With a Doctor of Musical Arts from the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and 12 years of University music teaching, you will be hard pressed to find a more comprehensive, diverse, and qualified music teacher anywhere. Let me help you create a music lesson experience tailored to YOUR specific interests and needs! One size does NOT fit all, and I have the experience you help you reach your musical goals in a way that focuses on your strengths, while catching you up on those less-strong bits. Lessons are friendly, relaxed experiences that not only teach you to play the instrument of your choice (and the recording studio is an instrument!), but also supply you with valuable theoretical and historical context to provide a richness to your musical experience that most players never receive. Beginners to Professional, le
ssons to coaching to masterclasses, I cater to all skill levels, genres, and musical goals.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are given in my studio. Lessons are tailored to your interests and musical goals, and can change and evolve as your own musical expertise improves. Call today to start your musical journey.

Music Theory is all about how music actually works, and giving each function a recognizable name. It's intimidating, no doubt, but one only needs to scratch the surface to start being able to use it with creativity. My students will work with harmonic and rhythmic analysis, scales, chords, and practical usage.

About Kenny
I am a professional working musician and a licensed K-12 instructor in the State of Louisiana, having graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelors of Music Education, with a Minor in Jazz Studies in the spring of 2016. I play the guitar (electric, steel/ nylon string acoustic), the trombone (tenor/ bass), and the drums (kit).
Guitar students can and should expect to improve in some facet every week after every lesson. Every person approaches music differently, and thereby, approaches the guitar differently. Different bodies mean different physical methods for successful playing. Different brains mean different musical realities- and whatever the state of yours is, I want to help you make it better.
There are so many different ways to be musical, and as your teacher I want to make you aware of them, and help you use every
tool in your toolbox, as well as give you some new ones. Music is not too vast to understand, and all it takes is one little push to be off on your way, making your own musical adventures.
As someone who has thrived in most ensemble scenarios from Concert Bands, Orchestras, Big Bands, to Rock Bands and Jazz Combos, I can help prepare you for any musical undertaking. I love students who love music and want to get better at it, regardless of what style it might be in.
So whoever you are, whatever you like, and wherever your skills are at, I want to help- to impart you with skills and knowledge you might need to play at the level you want. I look forward to meeting you and helping you be even more awesome!
