Students of mine study standard concertos, Bach, Suzuki materials, and scales. They also work on fiddle and jazz tunes, improvisation, and pop songs. The most important thing is to find what lights a spark in each student!

I'm passionate about music and have a Masters Degree in Violin Performance with over 20 years experience teaching the violin. I will help you achieve your goals whether you are wanting to learn the violin as a hobby, for school or pursue music as a professional career!

I am a classically trained violinist and violist passionate about helping my violin and viola students develop a love for music and for their instrument by way of a solid technical foundation and efficient practicing skills. Though I am most familiar with the Essential Elements and Suzuki lesson books, I am willing to use a different method book should you have one available. I welcome students with special needs, and am thoroughly versed in the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic violin and viola repertoire.

I have always had a passion for music, and teaching violin and playing violin professionally is my calling in life. In my lessons, I work hard to help students achieve their goals, and I strive to make sure students always have a clear understanding of what they need to work on. I push my students to do their best and reach their full potential, but I also make sure that my students are having fun! My lessons are heavily focused on proper technique and achieving the best possible sound out of the instrument. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from the University of Colorado and I am currently getting my Masters of Music in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Oregon.

I studied classical violin playing with Elizabeth Small at Belmont University. I studied with the Suzuki Method and have a thorough knowledge of the program.

I am a professional violinist and violist in the Boston area. I am a graduate of the New England Conservatory where I have studied with Miriam Fried, Donald Weilerstein, and Martha Katz. I have performed extensively throughout my life as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player on both the violin and viola in a variety of professional ensembles including substitute viola work with the Borromeo String Quartet. I draw from this performing background to teach my students of all ages and abilities.

I currently act as Adjunct Instructor of Violin and Viola at Merrimack College, where I serve as a primary instrumental teacher to enrolled students. I have also acted as the primary violin teacher for Main Street Music, LLC, in Waltham. Additionally, I run a private studio of 5-10 students as young as 6 and as old as 60. Of these, some never touched an instrument before our first lesson, and some are serious conservatory-bound musicians intending to make a career as a performer.
