Tania has been so amazing. We have only had one in home session before the COVID-19 restrictions came about. She has basically had to teach both myself and my daughter how to tune and play the violin. Her patience and creativity have been so helpful. My daughter is 6, and her attention span is not the greatest. I really appreciate Tania's patience and ability to keep her focused and engaged.

I am an adult learner, I started with a different instructor but I was frustrated with a number of things. I contacted Tania with my frustrations and then started lessons. She has been a joy to work with. Her first question to me was what my goals were. I really appreciated this, because I am an adult who has carved out 30-60 minutes each day to practice. So I definitely have goals. The overall goal of improving is nicely balanced with pieces and styles that I find interesting and enjoyable. My previous teacher was not very attentive to body mechanics and so I was hitting a wall both in terms of ability and comfort. I mentioned to him my back was hurting and he thought I was making conversation rather than asking for help. I didn't even need to tell Tania my back was hurting after practicing, because she starting suggesting tweaks to my mechanics after watching me play for just a few minutes. Playing immediately became more comfortable and enjoyable. Tania understands that playing violin is parts listening, mechanics, theory and playing. When I'm having trouble with one we will discuss parts of the others and a first it didn't seem related then suddenly I see a convection between the different parts and the connection makes my playing better. I would absolutely recommend Tania. She has a deep understanding of the topic and makes learning violin funner and easier. Scheduling has always been easy.

Tania has been a great teacher for my son. He started learning violin with the Suzuki method and studied with a Suzuki teacher for about four years before stopping lessons. He became interested in violin again in middle school and decided he wanted to take private lessons while in 7th grade. Tania had no trouble getting him back on track, picking up with some Book 2 pieces and moving on to Book 3. She has helped him with his bowing, vibrato and shifting, and his sound has really improved. She also has helped him learn to read better and has introduced some basic music theory into lessons. My son really likes his lessons, and feels that he is learning what he needs. Overall, I like her approach, which I think works very well for this level. She is an excellent musician, and this comes through in her teaching.
