Hello! I've been performing for 21 years and teaching for 15 years. Teaching has always been a passion for me! Whether you're an adult trying the violin or viola for the first time, or a dedicated student aiming to major in music, I can adapt my approach to suit your needs. I will help you build confidence in your playing through presenting attainable goals each week, while also providing appropriate challenges. I aim to help you feel comfortable and natural as you play by prioritizing proper posture and technique.
I have a Master's degree from the Peabody Conservatory in Violin Performance with an emphasis in pedagogy. I have performed in the U.S.A. and Europe, with well-known artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Yo-Yo Ma, Itzahk Perlman, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. My teacher training includes the Suzuki method (registered for books 1-5) and the Mark O'Connor method (certified for books 1-2).
My hope is that the violin or viola becomes a constant source of inspiration and ...

I love teaching violin! I have been playing violin since 5th grade and have been teaching it publicly since 2015. I teach from a traditional, classical style. For beginners/intermediates, I focus on finger positions, bow control, and note reading to provide students with a strong foundation to continue learning well. For intermediates/advanced, I start focusing more on the nuances of music and the violin so they can grasp the wonders and joys of music. I push my students to do the best they can to reach their potential. I love teaching, and I love my students.

When it comes to violin I use both book and audio. I want to help my students learn to not only read the music but to also hear and feel it. I have been teaching this way for the last few years and found that my students have a deeper understanding of the music by learning the see with their ears. Each student is tasked with coming up with goals that they want to reach, goals their parents would like for them to reach and from there a personalized path for learning is created and followed.
About April
I picked up music when I was very young and have never looked back. I started with the piano and then moved on to the violin, of which I competed regularly in up until high school. In high school I switched the viola and found it to me even more amazing. During high school I competed again in music
