Nikita is an incredible teacher. He has taught me so much about control, elevating my playing greatly. He will always have more ways for you to improve, as he is very particular, yet he will continually make you excited about the violin and love what you are doing. Being under the instruction of Nikita has prepared me for college and has brought me closer to my future life as a musician. I would recommend him as a teacher to ANYBODY.

Josephine is just the violin teacher I was looking for!

Every lesson includes scales and etudes along with a couple of songs to work on. Her teaching is attentive to detail and well-rounded (spot-on technique, music reading, easily-digestible theory, etc.), while still really fostering enjoyment in playing and slow but steady growth. Whether you’re looking for classical violin, fiddling, or bluegrass, Josie will help you learn whatever you want to learn!

I definitely recommend a longer class time if you can do it - a few extra run-throughs of each song and scale make a big difference in your muscle memory and ability to practice efficiently on your own.

Of the few violin teachers I've had in my sporadic years of playing violin, Josie has inspired me to play the most, and I know I will continue taking lessons with her for as long as I can. Highly recommended!

Josephine teaches violin to my 8 year old son Kanishk, continuing for over 7 months. She is great with my son and very patient with him. She is very professional and guides my son to do his best. My son is doing great and we have increased the session from 1 to twice weekly.

She has a very positive attitude towards my son and always encourages him with good feedback.

I've taught people who were just beginning violin (both children and adults) to students who were working on major concertos. What is most important to me as a teacher is that the student connect with the music and their instrument by being creative and personalizing my approach for the student. I also strongly strive to make performers out of violinists and to help them engage both audiences and themselves.

About Ha-eun
I have been surrounded by music my whole life and have played violin for 16 years. I went to high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy, obtained a BM in violin performance at Oberlin Conservatory, and am now a Master's student at the Boston Conservatory. I have won competitions, played in professional orchestra gigs, performed with college faculty, soloed with an orchestra, and won the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artists Award.

I have completed a pedagogy course in college and at the graduate level. I have taught children, teens, and adults alike. I had the fortune of studying with wonderful teachers and strive to be like them and pass on their wisdom.

I am passionate about teaching out of a desire to help people express themselves and appreciate music on a deeper level. I am very enthusiastic and adapt my approach to each student's le
vel, personality, and needs while seeking to build a good rapport. I make creative analogies to keep them engaged. I am positive while critiquing because I believe negativity is counterintuitive to effective learning. I have experience working with elementary school kids, having spent three years employed at a Boys and Girls Club.

Just as I believe in culturing love of music in children, I truly enjoy working with older and more experienced students. I am very eager to help them develop their musicality and good technique. I have an extensive repertoire list and thus am able to aid students in learning challenging music such as show pieces and concertos.

I predominantly teach classical music but have helped students in other music activities. With older and more advanced students I am willing to teach music of their own choosing. I have also helped a student prepare for college auditions.

I really look forward to meeting new students and to inspire them to be at their best!

I believe in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere between teacher and student that promotes the optimal mindset for the student to progress, and to believe in themself.

Technique-wise, there will be lots of work on intonation, tone production, and accuracy of rhythms!

Musically, I like to ask the student for their own ideas, and offer my input afterwards. Music is an expressive art, and the teacher's job is to help the student best express themselves.

About Josiah
I am currently a graduate student (Master of Music in Violin Performance) at the University of Oklahoma, where I am on fellowship as a violinist in the resident graduate string quartet, the Crouse Quartet. I study with Professor Hal Grossman at OU.

Previously, I earned a Performer's Certificate at the University of Wyoming, where I served as concertmaster of the UW Symphony Orchestra and the UW Chamber Orchestra.

I have advanced to the national finals in the MTNA Young Artist solo competition twice, and been guest soloist with the Northwest College Symphony Orchestra. During my time in Wyoming, I performed in the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra as a fully contracted section violin, and in the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra as an alternate violin.

For four years, I taught for the University of Wyom
ing String Project, where I served as a private violin and viola teacher to elementary, middle, and high school students in the Laramie, Wyoming school system. My students have won leadership positions in their school and string project orchestras, as well as the distinction of All-State Orchestra.

Katherine creates lessons designed with her student's interests and abilities in mind. Her lessons fuse technique with musicality, allowing her students to explore the vast world of music while learning to play well. She bases her teaching in the Suzuki method but adjusts her style according to her student's needs. When not teaching, Katherine plays for the Old Log Theater, Charanga Tropicale, and the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.

About Katherine
Hello! My name is Katherine, and I'm a violinist in the Twin Cities. I look forward to making music together! I believe learning music should combine technique with musical exploration, and I try to incorporate both into my teaching. I base my teaching in the Suzuki method, which emphasizes ear training and the idea that all people have the ability to make music at a high level. However, I am adamant about recognizing each student's individuality and learning style, therefore I tailor my lessons to fit the student's own goals and needs.

After graduating from St. Olaf College, where I was a member of the St. Olaf Orchestra for four years, I moved to France to teach English for a year. Since relocating to the Twin Cities, I have been teaching violin and working in special education at High School for the Recording Arts. In addition to te
aching, I play for the Old Log Theater's production of GHOST, a Cuban band Charanga Tropicale, and in the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.

Ani is a wonderful teacher! I have always wanted to learn to play the Piano. But, it was my daughter who first started learning with Ani. It was evident that Ani is a higly skilled pianist. Music is my passion and I love sharing it with others! I have been teaching private music lessons for 8 years. I have a bachelor's degree in Violin Performance with minors in Music History and Piano Pedagogy. Students of all ages and backgrounds have studied with me. I try to personalize my teaching style to incorporate the musical interests of my students so that learning always stays fun and productive!

About Bronwyn
I'm an avid violinist and pianist. I graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in May 2017 with a degree in Violin Performance and minors in Music History and Piano Pedagogy.

I love sharing my music with others and believe teaching is one of the best ways of doing that. My lessons are built around the unique interests of each student so that they feel positive about what they're learning and their progress.

I believe that much time is wasted by practicing inefficiently so I spend time each lesson discussing not only how to fix the problems students encounter, but how to practice more effectively. I like to challenge each student to approach music as an artist approaches a painting. Skill and technique are as equally important as telling (or painting) a story with each new song!
