Hello, my name is Bailey and I love teaching cello! I am a professional pianist and public school orchestra teacher. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Fredonia School of Music. I am a certified K-12 music teacher in New York State. I have been giving private lessons for 10 years to a variety of learners ranging in age and skill level.
My students walk away each week feeling empowered and confident in their abilities. I am able to push you while making you feel excited about new challenges. I am able to assess what you need, and offer you meaningful feedback in small, digestible chunks. Along with all of this, I make lessons fun! I teach fourth and fifth graders at school, so I know how to have a good time while helping students make great strides. I make it a point to ensure that you enjoy playing your instrument.

I have played in a variety of musicals and various college orchestras and chamber groups. Because of my approach to music I don't consider classical my forte but I can still teach any student cellist a great amount about beginning to advanced playing in any style - including classical.

I am also comfortable playing a variety of styles on the cello, namely jazz.

My name is Naza. I have been playing cello for 30 years - I started practicing at age 8 at a music in school in Kyrgyzstan. I then graduated from the National Kyrgyz Conservatory and continued my studies at Moscow Conservatory under Maria Tchaikovskaya. I've performed internationally in Russia, Germany, Kyrgyzstan,and the USA.

I've been a member of the Skokie Valley Symphony and Highland Park Strings. I currently teach in my private studio in Chicago area and have been doing so for the past 8 years.

I love to teach this beautiful instrument and strongly believe that everyone has he potential to learn to play it at any age! The art of music makes us better people and more in tune with the world - it heals our souls and has the power to bring us all together. I offer a well rounded approach to learning cello with customized lessons that focus on creating a beautiful tone, healthy technique, music theory, history, sight-reading, and developing collaborative playing skills. Always striving to keep learning fun and engaging, our lessons will progress at an individualized pace. I find great joy in playing cello and hope to share my knowledge and love for music with you!

My teaching style is as slow as you need, as fast as you can go. Technique should always serve the music, so we'll focus on creating art and telling the story that you want to tell. I'll work with you to create a personalized study plan that is engaging, positive, and progress-oriented.

Lessons are open to anyone, even if you don’t have a cello yet! I have worked with everyone from beginning students learning the basics of holding the bow to advanced players & colleagues looking for a discerning ear.

I generally recommend 45 minutes for beginners, but there's no time limit; I love to dive into details and can work as long as you can!
