Music is an important part of our lives, and thus I am not a one-style type teacher. I work with everyone at their current level and develop lessons for them based upon their desires. I believe that teaching the classics is just as important to teaching current music and inspiring each of my students to reach beyond their current comfort zone. I stress developing good practice habits and fundamentals, as these make any style of playing more enjoyable.

This is our family's third year of online lessons with Miss Amy and we feel incredibly blessed to have her as our teacher! We adore her teaching and the unique way she has of getting our two boys (now 15 and 13) to think about their music and what it takes to make beautiful music! She is so amazing! She is incredibly loving and has patients to rival Job! For anyone who feels online lessons can't work please know that we are proof that love is the greatest teacher and with love anyone can be successful!

We love you so much, Miss Amy! Thank you for being truly wonderful! Our entire family feels blessed and changed for the better because of you!

Pecos has been an exceptional instructor for my 15-year-old son with diverse music tastes and who is progressing to intermediate-level cello. Pecos’ instruction is insightful and attentive to the individual student, and my son feels the lessons are valuable and effective. We also appreciate receiving a followup report after each lesson outlining new techniques and practice goals for the next week, a huge improvement to the interpretive “mom notes” my children have had to rely on in past years of string instruction.

"I have taken several lessons with Mark and I think he is an outstanding cello and music teacher. Mark has a substantial knowledge of cello, music and other instruments and his method of teaching is so great that it has make me feel that even with the crazy busy life that I have I can tackle the cello and I will have a good measure of success at my own pace in the future. He is incredibly patient, encouraging and good natured while totally engaged in getting you further in learning music and the cello in this case. He has sent information every week of relevant material to be covered in the next class which is very helpful and he adapts very well to your own style, whether you want to start playing right away or you prefer more emphasis in music notation, etc. He makes himself easily available to answer any questions or to discuss changes in schedule and to top It off he is a really nice person. I would recommend Mark heartily and enthusiastically to anyone who wants to learn cello of any musical instrument he teaches."

"I'm 36 years old and I learned a few instruments when I was younger (keyboards, bass, saxophone). I had never played a bowed instrument and always wanted to try; so I rented a cello and started taking lessons with Megan.

Megan is a fantastic teacher. During our first lesson, she took advantage of my prior musical experience to teach me as much as possible, as fast as I could learn it. I will continue to take lessons with her and I definitely recommend her!"

It does require focused, daily practice time and a good teacher to guide you along the way. How far you progress with cello is a direct result of the amount of quality time you put into practicing the instrument. Even someone who puts in just 30 minutes a day will notice a signi …
