Cello

I am a professional cellist, instructor, and producer. I am studying my Bachelor of Music at the University of Georgia. 
My experience as a musician started as a choral ensemble member for four years. I later picked up the cello at the conventionally late age of 16 but excelled to become a full time university music student. My backstory shows that anyone can achieve success through discipline and drive, not necessarily from age or years of experience. My cello instruction is primarily based on solo, orchestral, and chamber group repertoire.

I want my students to be well-rounded musicians and to have knowledge on as many topics that surround music and performance art! My lessons involve teaching extensive topics beyond cello fundamentals like aural skills, music theory, music history, and production. Incorporating these aspects of musicianship will reinforce your progression as a musician. 

Highly knowledgeable and willing to answer even the most basic questions from a student completely new to the subject. Very good at explaining how to do the mechanics of cello playing, including hand positions, even though it is through a screen and not in person. 

In this tutorial I review the end of Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1. In this section it is essential to make the left-hand light and balanced so the technical scales can sound more like a smooth melodic line. As this segways into the cadenza section, the soloist and orchestra approach a final conclusion before starting the dream-like 2nd movement.
