I am an adult beginner violinist. When I first met Stephanie, I had barely touched a violin, but I was determined to learn how to play it. With her help and patience, I am progressing through the Suzuki method as well as doing ear training and music theory. Stephanie is an excellent musician as well as instructor! Her method of teaching keeps the students engaged, encouraged and excited about learning music from all sides of it.

I strongly recommend Ms. Quinn. She is amazing. I love a teacher who is passionate about what she does and Ms. Quinn has motivated me to love the violin and work harder to improve. She is slightly strict but very patience and kind, always pushing you to work hard and do your best. I learned to play violin a few years ago as a beginner and stopped playing for a few years. I was nervous to begin online violin lessons considering that I learn better face to face. However, Ms. Quinn has done an amazing job at teaching me, I have been taking lessons with her for a year now and have learned so much I didn’t know before which has also grown my love for violin.

Stephanie helped my younger one prepare for competition. She was highly skillful, supportive yet strict. Initially, my girl was a bit nervous to work with Stephanie because of her high reputation. Stephanie was very kind and fun, using metaphors to help my 10-year old understand the music. She not only helped my child overcome barriers to master the music piece but also shared much practical advice for competition. We did not expect this but my 10-year old won the first prize and was invited to perform in Carnegie Hall New York. Highly recommend Stephanie!!!

I've played alone and in ensembles for over 25 years. My lessons will start at your level. What do you want to accomplish? What music do you want to play? You'll learn the basics- bow control, intonation, vibrato, shifting positions. What you play with those skills is up to you- that's what makes music enjoyable!
*Note: at this time I am only taking on intermediate students, as I can only teach lessons online at this time due to the pandemic. I would consider anyone who has been playing for at least 1 year to be intermediate level.

Terrible. Only taught 30 minutes out of 60 minute sessions. On the 3 session I mentioned it and he said he didn’t think my son needed more than that even though we paid for it. Was so disrespectful!!!! Never again!!! Highly unprofessional when asked about why he cut the lessons short. Please don’t leave your kids with this instructor work paying attention. He will get over on you if he thinks you’re not involved.

Alethia is great. She is working with my 7 yr. old daughter as a beginner in violin. She teaches in a way that is fun, appropriate, and respectful. My daughter has already learned so much and looks forward to her lessons with Alethia each week.

Alethia is very knowledgeable about technique and skilled at teaching.

Alethia is a very talented teacher and violinist. She is extremely professional, attentive and accommodating to her students needs/goals. As an older student with no musical background, she has made the violin less intimidating and more accessible by breaking it down and making it less complex and easier to understand. While, I've only been with her a few years, I'm very proud of the progress I've made with her. If you are interested in taking up the violin, I highly recommend her.

"Intro to Violin

It is a delight to have Miss Anna to be Airin's teacher. Her passion in violin is encompassing. An inspiration!

Miss Anna's teaching style is encompassing. She showed Airin the fundamentals of playing the instrument at a level that a 12-year old is inspired to play. She also showed many components needed to get involved in learning how to play the instrument - very informative.

I look forward to Airin's next lesson. Thank you, Miss Anna."

What Is Violin Purfling? & Other Violin Parts You Didn't Know About?

I’m sure we are all familiar with the basic look, shape and sound of the violin. After all, violins have been around for over 400 years, and you simply make beautiful music by drawing the bow over the strings and moving your fingers! Right?
