I thoroughly enjoy teaching because I can relate to students who are learning and trying to progress in their instrument as I can remember being in their position when I started learning music. Seeing students progress and improve as a result of helping them, I find to be one of the most rewarding aspects for me personally.

All aspects of music performance are covered with a focus on stage presence, physicality, and emotional awareness.
About Pete
In 2011, I successfully obtained my master's degree in Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. The master's program was an intense submersion in music performance that shaped me into the musician that I am today. I was lucky to study with Don Glanden, Mike Kennedy, and Kevin Hanson.
I am also well versed in computer recording software and DAWs. I teach students how to use software programs such as Logic and Reason as well as notation software like Sibelius and Finale. With some basic training in these programs, I can teach a student how to effectively record and produce professional quality recordings so that a student can write, record, and produce their own music.
*** Lesson Details ***
Because I've studied with some legendary teachers who have taught some legendary students (like John Mayer), I'm able to pass on to my students the same knowledge that these incredible teachers passed on to me. I guarantee that I will be unlike any guitar teacher that you've had before. Along with instrumental training, I offer extensive lessons in music theory and ear training. My family is full of educators and I've experienced the teacher-student relationship from a young age. I am fully committed to developing lesson plans based on the route that a student wants to take, whether it's just learning the basics and playing along to your favorite songs or engaging in serious study and preparing for college auditions. I am available to teach at any location within the Philadelphia area.
*** Stylistic Focus ***
I specialize in jazz and blues. At Berklee, I was able to take instrumental labs that spent an entire semester focusing on the playing style of certain guitarists. I've taken the Wes Montgomery lab, the Pat Martino lab, the Jimi Hendrix lab, the John Scofield lab, and the Stevie Ray Vaughan lab.

About Brianna
History has always fascinated me. The way our world has developed and changed and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.
Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 10 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!
Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!

I have a decades worth of experience in performing on both guitar and electric bass in many genres of music in both the LA and Seattle music scenes. Over the years, I've memorized close to 700 songs in all 12 keys, and have spent countless hours arranging and composing for myself and other clients. I have experience as a musical director. My years of being active in two music scenes has taught me many things into what goes into a successful music performance like preparation, song selection, song order, number of sets, overall theme of a performance, instrumentation, how to write clear charts for other band members, etc.
About Jesse
I began teaching beginning guitar lessons to friends and classmates in high school. Ever since I picked up the guitar, I knew it was something that I wanted to pursue professionally because of the joy that it brought me. Being able to share that with other people is something I am very passionate about. I continued teaching beginning guitar and advanced jazz harmony to other guitarists in the music program to help pay tuition in college at USC. I taught at Music and Arts in Redmond during the summer after finish
Jazz is a style of music I specialize in and I teach it like teaching a language as I firmly believe that jazz is a language. I teach improvisation to not only guitar, but to all instruments as the concepts are the same. Improvisation lessons are fun and interactive and challenge you to be creative, which is what art is all about!
My teaching method is very flexible, as I am very aware that students learning styles and goals vary greatly. I am a patient teacher who will work to help put a student in a position to be successful and achieve his or her goals through lesson plans and teaching methods tailored to meet the student's learning style. Seeing students succeed and have fun making progress and improving as a musician brings me a lot of joy!
There is nothing more frustrating for a student than feeling like they're treading water trying to teach themselves. My goal is to make the learning process as fun as possible! One of the ways I do that is giving the student the opportunity to experiment with improvisation and explore the instrument during lessons and for when they practice at home to supplement the more formal training. This helps students develop their own individual sound on the instrument from day one, is fun and interactive, and gives the student the chance to be creative when learning a new instrument..

I've been playing both violin and fiddle since I was nine and have continued to study and teach music through grad school. I believe a foundation in reading classical music is important – but learning to play tunes by ear and have fun with fiddle music is also very rewarding to many people, and allows you to have fun quickly! (It's the same instrument – just a different style of music.)
If you're completely new, we'll begin by learning to make a good sound on the instrument. I'll teach you using written music, but whether you're more interested in classical or fiddle music, we'll also work on playing by ear right from the start!
I use volumes 1-3 of the Suzuki method, and for fiddle playing, Mel Bay's Complete Irish Fiddle Player. I'm also very happy to have you request your favorite pieces and tunes to look at together as they match your skill level.
About Micah
What I especially love, however, is making connections with the music you or I enjoy. When I teach music theory, I always try to bring the focus back to that spark that makes the music so exciting in the first place. I also study folk music, and teach fiddle – I love that music like this is able to connect with so many people in ways that extend beyond the concert hall, and most of all let everyone have fun!
