I've been playing guitar for over 20 years and can teach many styles and techniques including classic rock, folk, r&b and metal guitar. Something to think about when you start taking guitar lessons is your intention. Do you want to rock in a punk band or just learn some of your favorite songs? Do you plan to play electric, acoustic or classical guitar? These are a few things to consider. I'm happy to help you by answering questions, advising you on where to buy a guitar, how much to spend and helping you find sheet music. I can't wait to help you learn to rock out on guitar!

About Jessica
Hello! Thanks for checking out my profile. Please feel free to ask me any questions. -Jessica

***About Jessica***
Jessica is known worldwide for her music which incorporates her original comedy, artwork and videos. She spent a decade touring the US and the UK and has performed in many festivals including the Reading & Leeds Festival, Latitude Festival, Montreal Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Dublin Comedy Festival, End of the Road Festival, NY Funny Songs Festival, NY International Children’s Film Festival and more.

Jessica’s music and comedy is inspired by being the oldest of 6 girls and growing up in a small town in Maine, where she taught Sunday school and counseled teens and twins in a local after school program for four years. When Jessica was 19, she moved to Philadelphia to study animation after receiving a par
tial scholarship to the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and relocated to NYC shortly after graduating.

Her unique music, performances, art and internet videos have won many awards and critical acclaim.

She has performed her music and written segments and songs for television (including ABC’s “Good Morning America”, MTV’s “I Bet You Will”, Fox News “Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld”, IFC's "Comedy Music Hall of Fame", HGTV's Flea Market Flip, TBS’s “Saving Grace” website and “The Tyra Banks Show”), radio (including "The Dr. Demento Show", "The Jackie Martling Show", WFMU's "Spreading Yourself Thin with Jessica D" and “The Opie and Anthony Radio Show” on SiriusXM, BBC’s “Loose Ends Radio Programme” and BBC’s “The Simone Show” in the UK), feature films (including “What Would Jesus Buy?” directed by Morgan Spurlock), commercially for major clients and also on stages across the US and the UK (including London’s prestigious Soho Theatre, NYC’s Irving Plaza, Joe’s Pub and The Bowery Ballroom as John Waters’ opening act, and LA’s Troubadour).

*** Lesson Details ***
Jessica brings a lot of fun to her lessons. She is like a cool aunt or a big sister who likes to have a good time but who also wants to teach you to play guitar or ukulele and sing, hopefully at the same time. Jessica's laid back style and attention to your needs as a student will help you reach your goals, whatever they may be. Together, you will go as fast or as slow as is comfortable for you. Jessica works with classic rock, pop, folk and all your favorite songs as your step ladder for learning. Jessica also can help you develop your own musical style and teach you to write YOUR OWN SONGS from beginning to end, if that is of interest to you.

*** Studio Equipment ***
amp, microphone, keyboard, guitar, ukulele, music stands

*** Travel Equipment ***
Guitar and Ukulele. Students can rent instruments initially but must get their own, as soon as possible

*** Specialties ***
Classic stringed instruments such as acoustic / electric guitar and ukulele, and several unusual instruments such as singing saw and electronic and standard autoharp, singing, songwriting and guidance on how to monetize your band, including acquiring sponsorships and arranging local and international tours.

***What Are Lessons Like?***
Student(s) and teacher sit together and start with the basics, then move on to learn others' songs (The Beatles or other classics are a good place to start) and then may even try to compose original songs, if that is of interest.

Jessica is a virtuoso on the ukulele. She has the patience of a saint with less than adept students. Yet she is insistent, in a gentle way, about instilling correct form in her students' approach to the uke. In addition, she is a walking encyclopedia of songs that span the range from traditional to standards to current day favorites, and from country to r&B to rock and roll.

I am so fortunate to have found Jessica to teach the Ukulele. She is sweet, kind and truly a pleasure. very unassuming yet so focused on my particular needs when I lose my way. I strongly recommend her. I am so fortunate. Wait, did I say that already? Thank you Jessica.

wonderful books for ages 5 through Adult. Also a great way to sing and read music while playing an instrument. Can be taught to read music, may also learn by Tablature. Books can also take in your specific interests, rock, jazz, country, etc.

About Mary
Music degree from Lawrence University and Conservatory in Appleton, WI. Graduate work in conducting, piano, and vocal pedagogy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Also certified in Kindermusik for ages newborn to 7.

My studio, since 1993 is located in the back of my house and is in a family friendly location.

As my education originally was music education, elementary and secondary, I have gone on to be certified in teaching adults, both beginning and returning. There is so much piano and vocal educational material geared to the pre-school, the elementary, Jr-Sr high and Adult beginner and I promise we will have fun while learning.....

Anyone can learn an instrument and anyone can learn many different styles. Lessons will be geared toward your interests and goals, which we can work on at your lesson also.

The grea
test virtues of a music teacher are passion, patience, understanding, and communicating. You will experience this in the studio. Give yourself a treat of two months of lessons and I promise you will be playing and/or singing better than you expected.

Member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), NFMC (National Federation of Music Clubs),
NJFMC (NJ Fed. of Music Clubs). MENC (Music Ed National Conference),

I am generally easy going and laid-back and will work with you to obtain specific goals such as a piece you would really like to learn. I can be strict if assignments are not followed or if there is no progression; we need to analyze why that is. I use many teaching methods as there are many different learning styles. The series I am currently using are Faber, Alfred, and Celebrate Piano! for pianists. Many singers are in Broadway, Disney, and/or English Reliquary and Italian Arias. There are so many wonderful choices! I can guarantee after three months you will be playing some music you like, and you will be reading music, and able to perform if you wish (starting small). With singing you will have basic knowledge of proper posture, breathing, and increased range. I also so enjoy people and communicating so you will feel comfortable taking lessons, and I believe that is one major factor of success in learning an instrument: the student-teacher relationship And second for children, especially the young, is the parent-teacher relationship .

*** Studio Equipment ***
Studio: Yamaha baby grand piano, Kawaii studio upright and keyboard, Yamaha keyboard, recording abilities, computer software, couch and two chairs, parents can sit in on lesson. Also have computer programs for note learning, composition, as well as giving you apps to download.

*** Specialties ***
Different methods for different students. Piano: mostly Faber and Alfred series. "Prodigy": Aaron/Thompson series. I've also had graduate study in teaching the Adult Beginner! As I was a church music director 1994 till last September, I am very familiar with traditional and contemporary sacred music, learning and performing. If you also wish to combine singing and accompanying yourself on piano or guitar lessons can be tailored.

Andrew's original band, "Tin Toy Cars," formed in 2014 and consists of two local Las Vegas musicians and a few musicians from Cirque du Soleil. Their debut album entitle

Andrew currently plays in the orchestra for the weekly production "Brunch to Broadway" at Red Rock Resort and Casino. I have been an internationally touring guitarist for over ten years. In that time, I've played well over 1,000 shows and bring this experience to my students. I play most styles, both acoustic and electric, but have a particular focus on finger-style guitar. I am a very personalized teacher. I approach students as individuals and craft my lesson plans based on what excites them about music.

About Zak
I graduated with a BS in music from Skidmore College in 2002 and have been making my living as a professional musician ever since by touring internationally as a performer, making studio records, composing for film and television, and teaching. I am primarily a guitar player and a songwriter. I grew up playing drums and studied them well into college. I'm deeply influenced by the blues and country music, but I love anything that's good! I studied jazz and composition in school with a focus on improvisation. I wouldn't be half the musician I am today without the help of a few wonderful teachers. I think of them when I teach and do my best to inspire my students with the same joy and support that was offered to me.

I took guitar lessons with Zak for about 4 years and it was a great experience! I would pick a song to play, and as I learned the song he would teach me the scales that go with it. So I would learn the song and the music theory behind it, super cool. I also learned how to read sheet music from Zak. I enjoyed taking lessons from him!

I'm a self taught female guitarist, musician and singer-songwriter. A guitar lesson with me can include learning basic chords, cover songs and how to write a song. I love helping others who are passionate about music and want to learn the guitar. I especially love helping young women learn the craft because we need more female guitarists.

About Jackie
I was born and raised in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and started playing guitar at the age of 12. I tried to take lessons, but ended up deciding to teach myself to play. I moved to Wyoming in 2012 where I attended The University of Wyoming for English and Spanish. Fun fact, I'm bilingual :) While in college I became more and more serious about being a professional musician. I started writing more songs, recording an EP and playing shows all around the college town of Laramie. After graduating with my Bachelor's degree in 2016, I moved to Brooklyn to pursue my dream of becoming a career musician. I currently play rhythm guitar, ukulele and sing in Jimmy and THE BAND. Our next show is at Arlene's Grocery on Sept. 12th. I'm excited to start teaching others about something I'm super passionate about.

After a combined 4 years of musical experience, my goal is simple: to genuinely teach you everything I know! I value every minute spent with every student. I believe guitar lessons shouldn't only be fun, but have the potential to be LIFE changing. Taking lessons with me will not only leave you a better guitar player, but my goal is to help my students fall in love with guitar the way I have! From playing simple chords to impressive riffs, I look forward to nothing else than helping you grow as a guitarist! I promise you won't be disappointed, and I'm excited to get started!

About Nick
I am currently a lead guitar and piano player for a collective artist band that plays for events, camps, and churches across the country. I am also completing online courses through Michigan State University to receive my certificate in Music Theory and Guitar Scales/Chord Progressions to teach to the best of my ability.

I don't teach how to read sheet music (this isn't to be confused with chord charts and guitar tabs, I often use them to teach). What I do know how to do is hear a song, and by listening to it know exactly what to do in order to find out how to play it without the help of technology. Learning to play by ear isn't as hard as it may sound! When you learn how to read music, you cannot play anything unless you have sheet music in front of you. I firmly believe the true joy in becoming a musician happens when you really begi
n to understand the instrument, and can express yourself through it. My life has been changed by music in the best way, and I find it incredible that I get the opportunity to help you learn what has made me who I am!

My interest in music styles is endless. Whether its jazz, blues, rock, country, etc., I respect all genres! And whichever genre you would be interested in learning, whether its one or all, I look forward to meeting you and growing alongside you!

His teaching style allows me to learn quickly and thoroughly despite my overall lack of knowledge in guitar. I always look forward to my next lesson because I’m excited to learn the different techniques and skills Nick has amassed in his musical career. He has helped me set a goal to work towards and I love to see my progress on a weekly basis. I truly can’t say enough good about Nick.
