The violin showcases a player's talent more than any other instrument, some say. It's the hardest instrument of them all, others say. Whatever your goals, I am happy to play a role in your musical journey with this instrument. Follow a classical, traditional method of my own development that incorporates the most common repertoire sought after in festivals, auditions for orchestras, and auditions for colleges.

Students will work within a variety styles of music including the Suzuki method, fiddle and popular music. Good technique will be emphasized that will improve sound and intonation and musicality. Games and various practice techniques emphasizing visual, aural and physical learning modalities will help students enjoy lessons and learn more quickly.

It is important to have teacher, student, and parents work together to see the accomplishments happen in the future. I make the lessons meaningful, so that my student can retain the information and practice effectively at home. My ultimate goal is to have my student think critically and listen carefully, so that they can become their own teacher.

I am classically trained in violin, I have 12 years of teaching experience, and I also have a degree and experience as a music therapist, so I am able to meet the student where they are and formulate a lesson plan around the specific needs of the student.
