First and foremost, it is so important for me to get to know you and your musical interests (favorite songs, artists or bands). Once I know a little bit more about you and where your musical interests are, I help you build goals based on what you’d like to accomplish...that could be anything from “just wanting to learn something new and to have fun” to “playing my sister’s favorite song at her wedding in 3 months” or “to join an orchestra and make it my professional goal”. My style of teaching over the last 25 years incorporates technique, reading music, ear training, and improvisation. In addition to the violin, I teach viola, cello and piano/keyboard. The genres I love to teach are classical, rock, pop, jazz, film/tv music, and fiddle!

Hi! My name is Leah, and I love to teach music! My specialties are string orchestra instruments, including violin, which I have been playing since I was five years old, viola, cello, and upright bass. I am currently finishing my degree in Music Education at Temple University, with a violin concentration. I have performed violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, and percussion, as well as singing, in community ensembles. I have worked successfully with beginners all the way up to advanced musicians who are preparing for competitive auditions. I am passionate about teaching technique, musicianship skills, and repertoire in a way that is fun but also highly effective. I look forward to working with you!!!!!!!!

Hello to each of you! My name is Corey, and I have been teaching cello for 31 years. Like many of you I've been locked up in my home because of Covid19. What fun! Not really... but I have been enjoying teaching 24 of my current private students. Additionally, I have been teaching music at a Waldorf School in Portland Oregon for 22 years. My work at the school has decreased because of the crisis and now I've been moved to 1/2 time. I'm so excited to expand my teaching studio, and have the opportunity to meet you. I teach beginning through advanced students. My degree is BM in cello performance from Portland State University 1993, and I have studied (and/or had master classes) with Stephanie McDougal, Hamilton Cheifetz, Yo Yo Ma, Hans Jurgen Jensen, and Carter Brey. I attended Tanglewood Institute in 1987, and Congress of Strings in 1988 both on a full scholarship. My lessons are both fun, educational, and I work diligently toward teaching great technique in both the right and left ...

Hi, I'm Rachel. I just graduated from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester this May, with my Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance. This summer I relocated to the Philadelphia area, which is where I am originally from. I have been playing cello since I was five years old & I have experience with the Suzuki method as well as other approaches. I teach music theory and give private cello lessons to students of all ages and levels. While my background is in classical music, my goal is to help my students master any piece of music they are excited about. I am so excited to share my love for the cello with any and all potential students.
