Private Music Theory Teacher

I've been teaching both piano and voice for almost 40 years. I taught elementary vocal/general/choral music in our local public school system for 32 years. I added teaching privately about 10 years later. I work with students ages 3 and up for piano, and ages 8 and up for voice. I welcome students of all levels of experience from the earliest beginner to the most advanced. The lessons are largely focused on technique, theory, and developing skills, and can be adapted to incorporate each students goals. I encourage my students to perform in various talent shows, and other avenues as they become available. We have a Recital every May, and all students are guided through the development of their selected music to take it from the beginning stages to having it ready to perform.

About Janet

Hi! My name is Janet, and I would like to be your new music lessons teacher! I welcome piano students who are in Kindergarten up to age 99. I welcome singing students from age 12 to age 99. As a quick biography, I have 40+ years of experience teaching both piano and voice lessons. I welcome you

Private Music Theory Teacher

Students who study with me are taught how to read music. Although I do teach some by ear, I mostly enforce the reading of rhythms and notes on a page. I do this so that they all of my students can be as prepared as possible if they choose music an area of music as a career.

Those who study mallet percussion with me get a chance to go more in depth with music theory as I incorporate in in each lesson as the student learns either an exercise or a solo piece.

About Alex

Alex was born May 31, 1987. Since both of his parents were band directors, he grew up in a very musically inclined family. When he was 15 years old, during his freshman year of high school, he started studying percussion. A year later he began studying under Chad Kohler and continued to do so until

You listen, wipe their tears and tell them “Tomorrow is a new day,” and “I know you can do it!” But the next day he or she comes home upset about th …
