His teaching method gets you playing fast and doesn't skimp on theory and musicality - he doesn't simply have you learn tabs and songs, this was a huge plus for me. Highly recommend him.

Weather you dream to create your own music one day or applying for college to make music to be your life career - you need the knowledge of music theory. I provide individually developed courses of music theory which include subjects such as solfeggio, harmony and music analisys. More than scales, chords and arpeggios, my assignments require from you the usage of a piano to be able to apply the received theory information for further progress.

I have been teaching this subject for over 17 years. There is no specific curriculum as each student will come to lessons with their own unique skills, needs, and goals. Lessons are tailored to those specifics. Theory lessons are usually taken in conjunction with performance lessons (an instrument or voice) so they can make practical application of what they learn in theory. Beginner students start with fundamentals of notation, and tonal harmony. Lessons for more advanced students will include form, analysis, modal, tonal, and extended tonal harmony, contemporary procedures, and more. Lessons are a minimum of 60 minutes once per week. Students should come to the first lesson prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study. Theory lessons are particularly good as extra support for classroom work.
About Troy

Music theory is the basic foundation for every good composer and songwriter. There's a lot to learn and a lot that can be used in your own music. Even if you only want to play guitar and not write music, music theory can help you be a better improvisor, increase your harmonic knowledge, and play better in group settings.
About Jeremie
I'm a self taught guitarist who has been playing for 20 years. I have played professionally in numerous bands and ensembles ranging from jazz to folk to rock, and I've been writing music for the same length of time. I currently perform with one of my students from TakeLessons named Mackenzie O'Brie

Hello! If you would like to learn how to read music, understand chords, understand scales, and understand how to compose music, I can help! I love music theory, and often incorporate it into my lessons on other subjects. Reach out to me with what you want to learn, I can help! I took music theory 1-3 in college, and in high school took music theory 1, 2, and AP. I can teach you how to play by ear, how to transcribe music, how to identify intervals by ear, how to write out music properly, and more.

We've only had one lesson but I've learned more with him than I did with an adult self teaching piano book.
