You should expect to learn all vocal techniques just the same as any student. We cannot just stop at the sound, the full performance has to be explored so we go over musical tools to enhance performance vocally as well as acting though the song, staging, guestures, and facials.

About Marissa

My musical journey started in high school when my algebra teacher saw me in the hallway, grabbed my hand and brought me to the choir room to sign up for The Sound of Music auditions. To this day I cannot believe my math teacher unknowingly sent me straight down a path that I would walk the rest of

It was only a first lesson but I can already tell I'm going to be taking more lessons with Daniel. He's very knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated. He detailed a specific plan for me to work on that isn't too rigid or boring, I'm looking forward to relearning the flute with him.

Music Performance is a combination of singing and acting. I work with young people and adults of all ages teaching classic technique combined with performance skills. Lessons start with exercises to improve breath control to support your voice and help you sing on key. Vocal exercises will help you develop the quality and resonance of your voice and increase your range making it easier to hit those high notes. You will also learn how to use phrasing as you sing to put feeling into the words and connect with the audience. As your voice develops you will build a repertoire of music that you like to sing that you can use for auditions. The lessons are fun and very effective,

I only sang in HS choir/ musical theater shows but in the quarantine I wanted to come back to it. Jaime was recommended to me by a friend and it was great to have someone who understood that I wanted to better my singing as a hobby. Singing in the quarantine has gotten me through it and Jaime has been so helpful in getting me to sing in a healthier way. Thank you Jaime!

"I had the pleasure of working with Jill Good while I was responsible for planning and conducting numerous worship services for occasions which required special music. She is a consummate musician; not only does she play superbly, she has extensive knowledge of music theory, as well as possessing a repertoire of works which are appropriate in multiple settings. She is a delight to work with - bringing not only her expertise, but her bright spirit to every endeavor. I commend her without reservation."

Although she is primarily a guitarist she is also a highly trained and accomplished gymnast and acrobat. I have no doubt that Lilia makes an exciting, flexible and compassionate teacher."

"Nick has given my kids lessons on drums, piano, and musical performance. (both online and in person). He has amazing levels of patience that are essential for kids and beginners. Critically, he's given my kids the mindset and the space to be creative and realize that they don't have to be virtuosos to start writing their own songs."

"I am a math/science nerd and do not have much experience in proper singing, less in stage performance. After reading Benjamin's profile, I was very positive that he had the right personality and teaching style suited for me. My guess was correct! I have enjoyed every single of the 10-15 lessons with him and look forward to many more.
Teaching how to sing is much more than just giving instructions and demonstrating correct techniques. Even a YouTube video can do that. You hire a mentor so that he/she can criticize what you are doing wrong and create exercises customized to fix such malpractices. Benjamin has been doing exactly that. Additionally, he has been helping me improve on my stage etiquette, as well as performance skills. His sessions are also thoroughly entertaining, and he puts you under right amount of pressure, allowing you to be motivated without feeling embarrassed.
I started as an amateur singer and planned to pursue singing as a hobby at best, but now I hope to turn singing into an avocation. I am happy to recommend Benjamin to anyone looking for singing and stage performance lessons!"

"Great violin teacher!

Jill is a colleague and friend that I've known for many years. She is a wonderful violinist and one of the most experienced violin teachers of students of all ages that one can find. Especially gifted in working with young children, Jill is extraordinary in her ability to connect with kids. She sets her students up with beautiful violin technique and inspires in each one a love for music. Jill is a wonderfully kind person with so much talent for playing and teaching violin. She comes highly recommended by anyone who has known and worked with her!"

"My 7 year old son has been taking recorder lessons from Dimitry for almost 1 year now. Dimitry is very patient, encouraging, and enganging - considering that my son is on the younger side. Dimitry provides music instruction that is appropriate age and level wise, so my son feels accomplished and challenged at the same time.
We plan to continue with Dimitry and hopefully advance to the clarinet once his fingers can cover the clarinet holes and he has learned more music theory. My son looks forward to his music lessons. We are very pleased with his musical instruction."

"Rick is a fantastic improv and just overall music teacher. As a professional guitar player I have found Rick's deep understanding of both music and the art of teaching to prove most valuable. His methodical approach taught me not only what kind of notes to choose from, but how to use my ear to decide how I want to play. I would highly recommend Rick's method for any instrument at any level!"
