I have been teaching violin for 18 years and have taught hundreds of satisfied students. When you sign up for violin lessons with me, you will begin by learning the basics of the instrument including proper holding and playing position, tone production, rhythm, first position notes, basic notation. Once you get the basics down, you will learn how to play your favorite melodies and songs. All of this can happen within the first 4-6 months of playing.

About Dave

Dave K. began playing guitar at the age of 10. His influences include Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Guthrie Govan, Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pat Martino, Pat Metheny and Scott Henderson. At the age of 17 he began teaching private guitar and bass lessons to classmates

I haven't played the violin since I was in middle school, and I wanted to re-learn to play it. I am so glad I picked Dave, he is very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I jumped in with both feet and Dave made the instructions at our first lesson easy for me to understand. Excellent location and studio is awesome.
Rushia Hendricks
Excellent lesson. Does a wonderful job at taking older students and gently holding their feet to the fire to bring out the best- even under the most challenging of circumstances. Kudos to being such a uniquely great teacher!
Tom L.
I realize it was the first lesson but I was a little disappointed that we spend nearly the entire time on housekeeping items, like canceling and re-scheduling appointments. I think that could have been covered with an e-mail or handout. I also thought we spent too much time going over the differences between acoustic and electric guitars - considering my age and background. Would have liked to see him demonstrate what I was asked to practice before the next lesson instead of just being told to refer to the workbook.

Learning an instrument is no easy feat, but having the right plan, structure, and support makes all the difference. My teaching philosophy is designed to meet each student where they are, with a custom approach tailored to their individual needs.

I take time to get to know my students - how they practice, why they pursue their instrument, what their goals are, and who they really are as people. What is it that they truly need right now? Is it a practice schedule, or just some gentle encouragement? A new song to freshen things up, or a tough lesson about persistence? A conversation about homework, or a story to lighten the mood and bring some laughter into the music? As an experienced teacher, I know how big of a difference it makes to really understand the needs of a student.

I work with beginner, intermediate, and advanced students of all ages. I have experience with all major string curricula, as well as my own conservatory-trained approach. I have taught over 100 students in ...

Hi! I'm a Berklee College of Music graduate, and I've been playing violin my whole life. I'm an experienced teacher of 7 years- I have played in orchestras, toured in bands, written my own music, and I've taught all ages and abilities over the last decade. I specialize teaching the Suzuki method, fiddle styles, and improvising, as well as technique, reading, and music theory. Can't wait to play music with you!

About Carolyn

Hi, I grew up in Northern California in a family of Texan musicians, who knew from the start I'd be a musical trouble maker. From my early days of Suzuki violin, to marching band, and then to bluegrass and Billie Holiday, I make myself musically at home wherever there's a groove. Now a graduate of

Music has been an important part of my life: I have been playing the piano for 14 years and the violin for 8 years now. I am an alumna of the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra, and I am currently a violinist in the Pomona College Orchestra. I have placed in competitions such as the Diamond Bar Performing Arts Contest and Southwestern Youth Music Festival.
Music helps me de-stress and view things from different perspectives. I have taught music for 3 years. I am hoping to share this passion with my community and would like to teach students of all ages and levels. I will tailor the lesson style according to the student's age. It’s never too late to start!

About Sophia

Sophia worked with my daughter during her Junior year of high school. My daughter was really struggling to understand the material and Sophia was a huge help. Sophia broke the lessons down and was able to instruct my daughter in a way that she could comprehend. Her grade improved by one letter which was wonderful. We truly appreciated Sophia's help.

"Mary is very knowledgeable and personable. She gives excellent instruction and gentle correction in a way that makes you want to do your best in every aspect of the learning process. Mary is also very attentive to your needs and your development as a student. She knows when to allow for the errors that a beginner like myself will make, and when to present challenges that will push you, and show you that your skill and talent are growing. She also gives homework assignments that will help you grow your talent when you're in between lessons, which I really appreciate. I absolutely recommend Mary to anyone wishing to take music lessons!"

"I strongly recommend Ms. Quinn. She is amazing. I love a teacher who is passionate about what she does and Ms. Quinn has motivated me to love the violin and work harder to improve. She is slightly strict but very patience and kind, always pushing you to work hard and do your best. I learned to play violin a few years ago as a beginner and stopped playing for a few years. I was nervous to begin online violin lessons considering that I learn better face to face. However, Ms. Quinn has done an amazing job at teaching me, I have been taking lessons with her for a year now and have learned so much I didn’t know before which has also grown my love for violin."

"I am in my mid-40's and have had experience taking private lessons for various instruments throughout my life. Autumn is the best private music instructor I have had the pleasure of working with, going back to my childhood. She is very knowledgeable and has the experience and education necessary to help make her students successful.

Her methods are challenging yet encouraging. Violin has been the most challenging instrument I have attempted, yet Autumn is able to get concepts and techniques across to help me to progress.

I highly recommend Autumn D. for prospective students that are serious about learning to play the instrument. Her lessons include necessary elements from theory and sight-reading to technique.
