I have been playing violin since I was 4 years old and am currently pursuing a violin performance degree at Roosevelt University, studying with the world renowned teacher, Almita Vamos (her students include well known professional violinists such as Rachel Barton Pine, Jennifer Koh, and Benjamin Beilman.) I have lots of experience in many areas of violin performance including orchestra, chamber music, and solo performances. I have received numerous awards in various competitions, both nationally and internationally. These are listed below. I began teaching at a music school near my home in Chicago last summer and quickly fell in love with it. I love seeing students improve and can guarantee that I'll do everything I can to help you achieve your goals in violin.

She asked me what I wanted to learn and assisted me in a very patient way, and showed me the correct way of strumming and whatever else that was needed. A very good start.

Felicia is a great teacher! We work well together, she asks how I want to learn and she helps me to understand what I’m learning! As an adult learner, it helps that she can modify my lesson to suit my specific needs. I think this will be a great partnership!!

Felicia has truly helped me improve on the viola. From spotting my wrong bow hold to making sure that I am absolutely positive on where the fingerings are for the key, she has most definetly improved my playing over all and is helping me advance past most of my peers in my school orchestra.

Hello! My name is Emily & I've been playing the Violin for almost 30 years & teaching for 15. I teach all levels & ages. I'm currently working on my Suzuki Book 1 teacher certification as an apprentice with a master teacher.

My specialty is contemporary styles of music (pop, rock, jazz, improv) and I'm also an avid fiddle player (primary focus on Irish & Scottish music). I graduated from USC's Thornton School of Music with a degree in Popular Music (a music performance degree focused on playing in contemporary styles).

Are you interested in learning how to write your own music? Play with a band? Learn your favorite songs on the violin? I would love to help you with this & more!

I focus on good technique (intonation, posture, relaxed playing) within whatever style of music you're pursuing.

Let me help you bring creativity to your instrument.

About Emily

A product of fiddle camps, late night jam sessions, and extensive Bach technique, Emily Moore is at the forefront of an emerging scene of contemporary violin players. A third generation Southern California native, Emily was drawn to the violin almost immediately upon discovering its existence, and

Each lesson is tailored to the individual's unique technical needs and musical goals. I do not believe in any "one size fits all" approach, and instead draw inspiration from several pedagogues and methods to find the best fit for each student. While technique is a major emphasis, lessons are always fun and energetic. I have taught beginners through undergraduate music majors. While some of my students go on to major in music and study at major conservatories, others simply take lessons just for fun - to have a creative outlet, participate in orchestra, or simply enjoy music for its own sake. I enjoy teaching everyone, at every age and stage, no matter the reason!

About Nicole

I have been teaching privately for more than 15 years. In that time, I've taught at arts high schools, conservatories, colleges/universities, at music stores, and out of my home. I am active as a performer, and believe that it is critical for teachers to stay relevant in the field. I have perform

Nicole was a Godsend for my adolescent daughter when she started taking lessons with her at age 12. She had had a bad experience with a prior teacher and was losing her motivation to play and practice. Nicole was extremely kind, patient and encouraging yet held my daughter to very high standards. Due to her instruction, my daughter was able to play in some elite pre-professional chamber groups and recently was a prize winner at a Concerto competition. Nicole always had my daughter’s best interests at heart and went above and beyond to provide opportunities for her to excell at the instrument and feel confident about herself and her playing. I highly recommend Nicole for any level of player!

"I would highly reccomend Esther to anyone pursuing a musical talent. She is an amazing performance artist as well as an music educator who is very passionate about both.
She also gave private lessons to my daughter who was a 5yr student of hers & helped my daughter to become a 3yr concert master of her high school orchestra. I was very impressed by Esther's teaching style & it showed through my daughter's performance. So if you're serious about learning music, you will learn from the best!!!! Hands down!"

He doesn't push, and he's encouraging which helps keep me motivated. He's funny and we get along just great. He played a little for me at my last session at my request, and it brought me to tears. He plays beautifully! I look forward to my sessions."
