In my lessons, I work hard to help students achieve their goals, and I strive to make sure students always have a clear understanding of what they need to work on. I push my students to do their best and reach their full potential, but I also make sure that my students are having fun! My lessons are heavily focused on proper technique and achieving the best possible sound out of the instrument. An experienced and registered Suzuki teacher, my students learn to play violin starting from a solid foundation with emphasis on posture and producing a beautiful tone. In addition to playing the instrument, students can expect to learn reading music, basic theory, music history, and ear training. Learning violin will teach patience, concentration, the value of hard work, coordination, as well as enhancing memory, aural skills, and fine motor control. It was Dr. Suzuki's belief and mine that learning an instrument not only fosters these skills but also helps to foster the hearts and minds of those learning the craft.

Thanks Jenae
My son just started violin lessons with Jenae and after barely a month is making great progress and staying motivated, even though he's starting this endeavor at almost 11 years old. Jenae's approach is very encouraging and methodical. We have been very pleased with our choice.
Jenae is a wonderful teacher who has enormous amount of knowledge. Her teaching skills makes the student learn more and get better at playing the instrument. Has a lot of patience which is very essential when teaching a beginner. I feel very lucky to having found her. Thanks Jenae!

Having had other violin teachers I can tell that Zhana contoured her teaching specifically for me. She is a wonderful teacher with plenty of encouragement and at the same time does not allow me to take it too easy on myself. Just what I need."

We have enjoyed having Maureen as our familyâs music teacher. My son started taking flute lessons with Maureen in 2009 and advanced through the levels very quickly. He plays flute in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). He also plays saxophone and tried out and was selected for the Alameda County Honor Band. Maureen worked with him on jazz theory and improvisation and he plays in the jazz band at school. With Maureen, he worked through all six levels of Master Theory and is ready for the college level AP Music Theory at 14 years old. He also completed the MTAC (Music Teachersâ Association of California) Composerâs Today workbooks and used http://www.noteflight.com to write his own music and participate in composition contests. My daughter has been taking piano and violin lessons with Maureen and has been doing a great job. She is playing classical music on violin in school and in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). On piano she is learning to play the blues and jazz, as well as learning theory and composition. Both of my children have been able to successfully participate in the LaHonda Summer Music Camp. We have had a great experience with Maureen throughout the past 5 years and have enjoyed seeing her each week."
