Ashley has been amazing with my son. She has taught him for almost two years now and he continues to enjoy learning piano. She is very patient, remains calm and engaging, is able to adjust the lesson as needed, and provides a positive and fun atmosphere for learning. I’ve been playing guitar for years but self taught. It got to the point where I needed help getting past some hurdles. Randy has been exactly what I was looking for. He took a quick assessment of where I was and what I was looking for and put me right on track. The lessons I received were a great value to me. I highly recommend Randy. Also, he’s a cool guy that plays some seriously cool music with real soul. The real deal!

Don’t expect an old fashion teacher with tedious lessons. Randy will have you playing your favorite music in no time! Having always yearned to play piano and have fun with it, I was never successful with instructional piano books or videos. It wasn't until I started taking lessons with Randy that I truly learned to play piano and love it! His vast knowledge of music and easy-going personality assists to create an eagerness to learn more. From the basics to the more complicated elements in piano, he moves at your own pace while also challenging you. Additionally, Randy’s lessons are catered to what you are interested in rather than just go-by-the book lessons. He even has taught me how to play by ear rather than always using sheet music! Randy is simply the best music teacher out there and his lessons are incomparable to others!

The mathematics of Music! I have a ton of experience studying music theory, I started when I was 12 when I wanted to learn how to improvise with my jazz saxophone. I was very lucky with the opportunities I had to learn music theory. I learned from two college educated jazz musicians before pursuing my own music education. While studying jazz studies and music business I studied both classical music theory and jazz theory quite extensively. Whether you want to become a composer, an improve soloist, or just improve your songwriting abilities, I can provide the knowledge and technical skill.

About Andrew

I have almost 20 years experience with saxophone. I started young and traveled as a student performing in competitions all over the country. I have done every type of music competition and studied in college where I received scholarships.

In my home country of Russia children start learning Music Theory from a very young age. I used to struggle with many concepts of music theory until one of my friends explained it to me. I love to share the knowledge that my friend and my teachers shared with me. I think Music Theory can be extremely exciting and captivating if you teach it right. My personal journey helped me find easier ways to explain these concepts to others.

Q&A:

Q.: Do you teach bi-weekly lessons?

A.: No, I do not give bi-weekly lessons, and require all of my students to take at least 4 lessons a month to be able to join my studio.

Q.: What happens if I miss a lesson?

A.: My studio policy is that all of my students are required to give me an at least 24-hour notice if they will be missing their lesson for any reason with the exception of illness or family emergencies. It is the student's responsibility to reschedule the lesson for the same week, or their lesson time will be charged in full. For ...

"I have been taking lessons with Jimmy for 3 years and could not ask for a better teacher. He makes my interest grow and has a wealth of knowledge and the patience to share it. He challenges me regularly. I only wish I had found him sooner as previous instructors never had the flexibility or patience that Jimmy has.
Learning in such a relaxed environment has worked very well for me. My son has since started lessons with Jimmy as well and it has become a great experience for both of us."
