I live for helping others find their fullest musical potential. Daughter to a teach and a truck driver, my parents couldn't afford lessons when I was in school. I want to stress that I want those students who are being denied affordable private lessons. You are just as capable of greatness as kids paying out the nose for lessons.

I strongly believe EVERYONE is capable of learning an instrument. We all learn in different ways. Perhaps you tried learning once before and it didn't work out? Don't let that discourage you! You just need the right teaching method.

Cello has been my passion since I started playing in 1994 in NJ. My love for teaching bloomed when my high school music department gave me two hours to teach middle school beginning strings (Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass) every school day, and I have been hooked since! All South Jersey Orchestra several years, and attended West Chester University of PA on scholarship, where I basked in one of the best music education programs in ...

About Bonnie

I want YOU to discover the music that's always been inside of you. That nagging voice in the back of your head telling you that you don't have a musical bone in your body is WRONG. Everyone is capable of learning an instrument. It's just a matter of finding the right fit in instrument and teacher.

Great first lesson! Bonnie offered great beginning tips and encouraging complements. The first lesson book looks very appropriate for my skill level. We did have some connection issues which Bonnie handled very well.
I am energized to practice and work toward my next lesson.

Bonnie is a great cellist and was always a pleasure to work with!

I love playing and teaching the cello, and I'm so excited to share that with you. I make lessons fun and engaging, and you'll leave feeling positive and focused on progress. I believe that the technique should serve the music, so we'll always focus on creating art and telling a story. Cello playing mirrors life, so what we do in the practice room will have much larger applications than you might anticipate! From beginning students learning the basics to advanced players who need a push in the right direction, I aim to help you improve quickly and have a great time doing so.

My 12 year old son has been taking lessons with Claire online for a couple of months. He had been playing a few years in school but never had an individual lesson. She is helping him create some new habits while improving his technique and musicianship. She is very encouraging and supportive (and fun!). Looking forward to seeing how he progresses in the future!

"Laura is a wonderful cello teacher. Our daughter (10 y.o.) has been playing cello for 2 years. We just moved to NYC and needed a cello teacher. We found Laura and our daughter just had her first lesson with Laura. They reviewed skills, practiced pieces, ear training and Laura provided appropriate level workbooks at the end for home practice. Our daughter said "I can't wait to work with Laura again next week." Proof enough for us."

It does require focused, daily practice time and a good teacher to guide you along the way. How far you progress with cello is a direct result of the amount of quality time you put into practicing the instrument. Even someone who puts in just 30 minutes a day will notice a signi …
