There is more to a performance than just singing well. It is important to engage your audience by adding real emotion to your songs as well as knowing what to do with your body and how to move with confidence and control. Performing means knowing how to work the crowd and leave them wanting more.

I graduated from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA with a BA in Music Education, voice principal. Hi Ms Bethany, this is Sheenu(Gia & Dia's mom). I was just confused after the class coz I had signed them both for singing lessons not theory lessons. But as far as I know you gave a great class on the basics of theory, which was wonderful. Thank you so much for your excellent class. Please let me know if I need to do anything more to change it to singing lessons.
Thank you!!

Kind regards,
Sheenu.

I’m a beginner singer with no prior experience. I’m very nervous about singing and always put off lessons because I was worried I would never be able to become a “singer”. I’ve only had my first lesson so far but it was a lot of fun and very educational. I learned a lot in just one hour and had a blast along the way. I definitely chose the right instructor and if you’re thinking about Michelle for your lessons just do it! She is great!

Experienced playing in front of many different audiences, i.e.
big audiences with Holland America Line, from 75 to 1000 people in the audience. Dealing with other musicians and the audience is as important as the performance itself, at times.

On the road with American Entertainment Productions,
our group of eight (8) played in front of high-school, middle school and Convention size audiences.
How to play and not lose focus playing your instrument is key.
You are there to perform and share your musical talent.

At different churches, some places were over 300 - 1000, depending on the size of the building, or course.

At lessons, we can talk how to play, read music for musical performance, and what to do after the performance.

"My first time taking any type of vocal training before. I did this in hopes to be a better singer in my car. One day I was humming and a friend herd me and said I sounded amazing. I could feel my face turning red because I thought at the time I was alone. Anyways, months later... Guess who's doing karaoke on Tuesday nights?!!"

"Since I was in high school, I’ve always wanted to develop my skills as a piano player, drummer, or guitarist. I had a ways to go, and Greg was assigned to help me grow in our youth worship team. Out of the years I spent there, Greg was the best teacher I had! Hands on training, coherent instructions, and constructive feedback from our sessions were what made me into the musician I am today. Greg Campbell is the best!"

Critically, he's given my kids the mindset and the space to be creative and realize that they don't have to be virtuosos to start writing their own songs."

"The thing is, everyone wants to hone their skills when it comes to performance, but getting the skills isn't the only thing that you need to do. That is where Jan comes in, she can teach you how to sing, she can tell you when your act is not up to par. More importantly, she can teach you how to relate to your music (most likely you can't), and how to build a relationship with the audience in the short amount of time you're on stage (you probably don't know how to do that either). Jan has worked with people at every level and so she has really honed her craft when it comes to teaching. If you are a student of music performance, she can take you to that next level no matter where you are at. I've taken voice lessons in a private setting by a former vocal-music pro who has worked with former Mrs. Kentucky winners, and with teachers on the University/Collegiate level. Jan is the best I've had so far.

Notes:
1. Come eager to learn, not eager to talk about your life story. A lot of students go to lessons and talk a lot. You don't want to do that, you will miss out on the instructions and performance philosophies that you need from her. Listen more than you talk.

2. Come with clear objectives. If you don't have them, spend time with her developing those objectives. She is an objective oriented person when it comes to teaching, be an objective oriented student.

3. She has really competitive prices for her teaching quality. The hour is worth it.

4. Come with a lot of respect, she will give you a lot of respect if not more. She treated me almost like I was an old friend, and she is a really charming lady. Be nice to her : )

5. She is a really nice person and won't hurt your feelings. She has really good social awareness so you don't have to be afraid of that. If you can drop your ego at the door and take criticism, go ahead and ask her for that extra bit that you need to get you even further. Have some skin in the game.

6. Don't waste your time trying to figure out how good of a teacher she is during your lesson, you can read that stuff online. Come to her studio to get work done.

7. Ask questions that she can give quick answers to (it helps her know that you're hungry to learn). Bring something to write with."

"Tom is an amazing music instructor! My review won’t even scratch the surface of explaining what a fantastic teacher he is! Tom has taught our 4 children since 2008 when they started at School of Rock (SOR). When Tom left SOR and started giving private lessons, we left SOR because we saw the value Tom gave our children. He does a great job of challenging his students, yet keeping it interesting for them. (He's still teaching our kids after 6 years; they never get bored with his lessons and look forward to them every week!) Tom also does a fantastic job of blending music theory into everything he teaches. Our oldest child has a passion for music, and is now studying music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Tom played a huge part in our son getting into Berklee and giving him the skills he needs to succeed while there. I recommend Tom to any level of student. He is simply the best!"

"Kareem is the man. I first met him while playing in the Pierce College Big Band--which he directs and is a perennial first place at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. I studied with him for 6 months formally but over the past 2 years through his weekly jam session and mutual gigs he's become a tremendous influence in my life. Whether your a beginner on your axe or an aspiring jazz student of any level he is the instructor for you.
As an improvisor his main influences are Sonny Stitt, Dexter Gordon, and Joshua Redman. For any jazz musician on any instrument he is a master instructor of bebop. His overall playing versatility is solid but his forte is bebop. He is simply a beast of bebop and can aptly guide you along the path of musical enlightenment. Also, like most great jazz musicians his piano chops are excellent."
