To know how to play the piano is important; however, to know the why of piano playing will increase your knowledge & playing ability.

About Ruthy

I have been playing the piano for over twenty years. I began at the early age of seven years old. Because piano has played such a vital role in my life, I believe it is a responsibility of mine to pass on such a delightful gift of piano playing to those who would like to make it a part of their life

Ruthy has been a great instructor. I started with her knowing very little about the piano. I have been working with her once a week and am seeing great improvement. I am learning notes, chords, and understand music. She makes learning fun and helps you to achieve playing songs that you really like and enjoy.

My approach to music theory is that it should be learned by doing - being told what an Italian Sixth chord doesn't do you much good if you can't apply it in your own music. To that end, we'll spend time on close listening, sight-singing, dictation, rhythm games, etc., and minimal time with textbooks.

About Brendon

I am a composer, guitarist, arranger, engraver, and songwriter located in Brooklyn. I have taught extensively for the past ten years in a variety of settings, including teaching private guitar lessons at Saint David's School in Manhattan, teaching private composition lessons and TA'ing two electron

Brendon helped me get started writing songs / producing music. Brendon was very helpful getting past anxieties with getting started and feeling overwhelmed by all the possible ways you can go about making music. Each week he had suggestions on how to improve the structure of my music. Also, he was willing to go wherever my interests were at.
Furthermore, he's nice.

Jordan has been giving voice lessons to my son (16) and daughter (12) online for almost a year now. I was little hesitant at first because we had never tried online lessons before, but my kids adore him and have become more confident singers. Jordan is very patient, encouraging and knowledgeable, and I highly recommend him as an instructor.

Through the foundation I've gained by the influences of Mel Bay, Hal Leonard, and Suzuki musical instruction methods, I compile my own teaching materials. Using personally constructed guitar lessons, I demonstrate, instruct, and guide the student based on my assessment of their individual needs, skill level, and progress. Lessons are formulated in Modules, and advancement through them is based on the student's personal aptitude, skill level, and practice commitment. Learning is accomplished by ear as well as through essential methods of musical notation (tablature, 5-line staff, rhythmic comprehension). Students are trained to perform written music as well as to write and express the music within themselves.
I'm an encouraging and motivating guitar teacher with a casual relaxed approach. Teaching new guitarists is very rewarding to me. To see the light come on and watch a student perform a song, express themselves musically, and create their own composition is an awesome experience.

About Scott

The key to learning guitar......is finding the right instructor! I am an encouraging, effective guitar instructor and an experienced performing musician, offering in-person beginner through intermediate guitar instruction in my home and on line. It is very rewarding to me to help others along

"I've been taking lessons with David for more than 2 years, he's amazing... he's very knowledgeable, patient, knows how to explain difficult concepts and can adapt to a broad range of topics, covering different areas that I'm interested on, including music theory, songwriting, guitar and bass, and music production.

David is both a professional musician and an experienced instructor, and you can tell the difference that makes in every class.

We started with at-home classes, but switched to online during the pandemic and that's working pretty good for me to.

I'd recommend David to anyone looking to learn a new instrument, get better at it or expand their music knowledge in general."
