As a violin teacher, I love helping my students achieve their goals!
I believe not only the results matter, but also the journey. I focus my lessons on helping the student learn and have a deeper understanding of music theory, harmony, rhythm, technique, and how all those apply to the violin. I specialize in classical music and I use methods such as Suzuki, Essential Elements, and many others to help you become a better violinist. The lessons take place in a relaxed and fun setting :)

Students of mine study standard concertos, Bach, Suzuki materials, and scales. They also work on fiddle and jazz tunes, improvisation, and pop songs. The most important thing is to find what lights a spark in each student!

I teach all age, all level. I focus on scales, etudes, and short pieces that makes playing more enjoyable.

Beginners - We will start with the Essential Elements Book 1, then progress to Suzuki along with selected etudes and scales. Once a solid foundation has been laid down, we will select a piece together that is within your reach but will be a great challenge.

Intermediate/Advanced - You will be given scales, etudes, and a piece of our choice that will play to your strengths and strengthen your weaknesses.

A first violinist of the Grammy-winning Los Angeles Opera, I am also a devoted teacher who curates productive and fun lessons for students of all ages and levels! Lessons plans are customized and designed to fit your goals, with a focus on building a solid and healthy foundation.

My goal in teaching is to help students develop not only better self-discipline and concentration, but also sensitivity, confidence, humility, as well as a deep appreciation for music.

I have trained in string pedagogy at the Peabody Conservatory, have over five years of teaching experience, and am fluent in English and Cantonese.

My main focus for me would be for you to enjoy making music. That means
1. Working in a smart way so you would reach the best from your potential in a comfortable way.
2. Understanding that each person is unique and in that matters, the way of learning, of relating with the teacher and approaching to the violin playing.
3. Having fun while practicing and during the lesson.
